Nash Edgerton is an Australian film director and stuntman known for his work on major films like The Matrix trilogy and the Star Wars prequels. He has also directed several music videos for Bob Dylan. Edgerton's feature directorial debut was The Square, and he later directed the 2018 film Gringo. 2.  Nash Edgerton (born 19 January 1973) is an Australian film
director and stuntman, and a principal member of the
movie-making collective Blue-Tongue Films.
 As a stuntman, he has worked on such films as The Matrix
trilogy, The Thin Red Line, Superman Returns, and, most
notably, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and
Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, as the stunt
double for Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi.
 He has directed four music videos for Bob Dylan ("Beyond
Here Lies Nothin'", "Must Be Santa", "Duquesne Whistle",
and "The Night We Called It a Day"). His feature-length
directorial debut was The Square. He is the director of

 The action takes place in a car, there are small bits of
the clip that take place outside on the highway or in
the gas station.

 Both male and female characters dress their
own way, no special uniform or anything.

 Lightning doesnt specifically pick the genre
 It is a black humour , at least thats what we can see
from the clip itself
 The lightning doesnt change during the short film
• Figure, Expression, Movement
 The most important part in the whole clip is the body
gesture and facial expressions between the male and
female leading characters.
 Throughout the clip the female character looks to be in
charge(side, low angle constantly)

5. The clip starts with a wide angle shot of the car, in which Jack and Jill are driving. There are flashes at
the beginning of the clip with black screen to anticipate where the story will begin. In a sudden we
find ourselves in a low angle shot in the back of the car, as a third person observing the 2 leading
characters argue over the radio. This third person shot continues ( over the shoulder shot) throughout
the driving scene, with a range of close ups and medium close ups to show the importance of their
dialogue and that they are in a fight. As we go on in the clip, we can see that they stop at a gas
station, while they are still in a fight( low angle still in effect just as Close ups while the female
leading character is adding gas to her car. The male leading character`s face is in a close up which
implies that he is in love with her, just as the way he keeps looking at her. There is tracking during
this scene as we follow the male character into the gas station shop, where as he enters we get a wide
shot of the place. We dolly in to the male characters perspective as he buys flowers and chocolate for
her. His face and flowers are equally important as he is trying to solve the situation between them,
that’s why both the flowers and he is shown in a close up shot.
The second scene starts with a two shot while, the male character is offering chocolate to the female
character, Close up is in effect, to symbolize the tension between the 2 protagonists. The clip
continues with a dolly-zoom in on the chocolate which he is offering her to please her, Medium shot
takes place right as she gets out from her car and stands on the highway.
The camera Is panning when she gets hit by another car to emphasize that she is badly injured and
that she needs help. In Scene 3 there are a range of close ups and medium shots, to implicate that she
has help on the way, the medical box or bag is in extreme close up to show that that is the main
source of help for her.

6. As for Mise-en-scene, the clip takers place mainly in the car with other
settings such as the gas station and the highway.
As for the characters and their clothing, there is nothing special.
Original, everyday outfit which people wear( shoes, sweaters, jackets,
shirt, incase of the medical men, ties and shirts)
Ass for sound, There is a lot of diegetic sound, such as the Music in the
car at the beginning of the clip, or the sound of the car driving on the
highway, Screams of the people and the female leading character. For
non- diegetic sound, the sound of the ambulance is the most
Memorable as we can hear the sound of it coming, but we cant really
see it.
Editing is continuity Editing, there are a few cuts, like at the scene at
the gas station when he enters to buy chocolate and flowers, or when
the camera cuts from one character to another at the end of the clip
when the medics are trying to aid the female protagonist.
