36. The Quran and The Modern Science ( Rosette nebula) A Series of Presentat...Mr.Allah Dad Khan
The document discusses the Rosette Nebula, a cloud of gas and dust in the constellation Monoceros.
It provides several details about the nebula: (1) It was mentioned in the Quran over 1400 years ago in a verse describing the sky becoming rose-colored, like stained leather. (2) Astronomers have used the Chandra X-ray telescope to image hundreds of stars in the nebula crashing into each other at temperatures of 6 million degrees. (3) The nebula has a diameter of 130 light years and was formed from gases ejected by large, high-pressure stars.
This document summarizes the possibility of life on Mars based on a 7th grade student's presentation. It discusses that Mars was once similar to Earth with water, dry land, weather and clouds. While Mars' atmosphere is now too thin and cold to support water on the surface, scientists have found evidence of past water in canyons and dried lake beds. Mars also experiences clouds, wind and dust storms. The conclusion is that while some scientists believe life could have existed on Mars in the past or underground now, water is essential for human life and does not exist on the surface of Mars today due to cold temperatures making human life unlikely.
The document discusses the possibility of life on Mars and the exploration efforts to search for evidence. It notes that Mars' climate and surface age make it similar to early Earth and thus it may hold clues about the development of life. NASA missions have been searching for ancient life by looking for water and types of microorganisms. Understanding Mars could provide insights into Earth's history. There is also significant human curiosity to explore the red planet and search for answers to questions about its formation and the potential for life.
NASA's Kepler mission has discovered the first definitive circumbinary planet, Kepler-16b, orbiting two stars 200 light years from Earth. This confirms theories that planets can form around binary star systems, greatly increasing the potential for life in the galaxy. Kepler-16b is a cold, gaseous planet similar in size to Saturn that orbits its two stars every 229 days. While not habitable, its discovery demonstrates the diversity of planetary systems and confirms a new class that could potentially harbor life.
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and has characteristics that make it similar yet different from Earth. It has a thin atmosphere, seasonal changes, polar ice caps, the largest volcano in the solar system called Olympus Mons, and evidence of ancient rivers and lakes. Future missions are planned to further explore Mars, including the InSight lander in 2016 and Mars 2020 rover. The Curiosity rover has been exploring Gale Crater since 2012 and found environmental conditions that may have once supported microbial life.

1) The document discusses how the Quran contains knowledge about science and nature that was revealed to Muhammad over 1400 years ago.
2) Several Quranic verses are presented that reference the creation of man, teaching of writing, knowledge taught to man, and that nothing is omitted from the Quran.
3) Images are included showing kinds of birds, the desert, hidden parts of the earth and ocean, falling leaves, seeds, and sedimentary rocks to illustrate scientific phenomena mentioned in the verses.
Cosmology is the study of the formation and evolution of the universe. The most widely accepted theory is the Big Bang theory, which states that the universe began as a small, extremely hot and dense singularity that rapidly expanded. As it expanded, the universe cooled and simple subatomic particles formed, which then combined to create atoms, stars, galaxies, and all other astronomical objects. The universe continues expanding to this day. Our solar system is located in the Milky Way galaxy and contains the Sun and objects that orbit it, including eight planets such as Earth. The Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the only known planet capable of supporting life.
Since Mars was discovered, mankind has been interested in this planet. Many people find that saving humanity depends on the colonization of the Red Planet. Here are 10 interesting facts about the Mars.
The solar system consists of the Sun and everything that orbits around it, including 8 planets, dwarf planets, moons, comets, and asteroids. The Sun contains over 99% of the mass of the entire solar system. The terrestrial planets like Earth are rocky, while the gas giants like Jupiter are made of gas. Our solar system formed over 4.6 billion years ago and continues to be explored by spacecraft.
To survive on Mars, humans would need protective equipment and shelters to withstand the thin carbon dioxide-rich atmosphere, average temperatures ranging from -120 to -5 degrees Celsius, and low surface gravity of 38% of Earth's. The conditions on Uranus present even greater challenges, with an atmosphere over 80% hydrogen and 15% helium, average temperature of -210 degrees Celsius, and no solid surface under its liquid methane ocean. Both planets would require enclosed self-sustaining environments and life support systems to enable human habitation.
The universe contains more stars than grains of sand on Earth, and it would take 100,000 years to cross at light speed. The Sun revolves around its axis in a month and around the galaxy in 26,000 years. Mercury orbits the Sun fastest, completing a revolution every 88 days. The Earth rotates at 1,600 km/hr and orbits the Sun at 100,000 km/hr. The universe is vast, with immense distances, times, and speeds.
Our solar system consists of 8 planets orbiting the Sun, along with moons orbiting the planets and asteroids orbiting the Sun. The planets have orbited the Sun for billions of years. They range in size and composition, from the dusty, airless desert of Mars to the gas giants Jupiter and Saturn. Many planets were named after gods from ancient Roman mythology.
The document provides answers to questions about Copernicus' theory of the solar system and components of the solar system. It states that Copernicus thought the Sun was the center of the universe, the solar system formed from a giant cloud of dust and gas, and components found in space include asteroids, meteoroids, comets, satellites and planets. It identifies the Asteroid belt as the region between the inner and outer planets and names the Moon as the largest satellite orbiting Earth.
The document discusses black holes and their properties. It describes how John Archibald Wheeler coined the term "black hole" and how Pierre Simon Laplace first proposed the concept in 1795, calculating that an object compressed into a small enough radius would have an escape velocity greater than the speed of light. It provides details on escape velocity and the event horizon of a black hole, beyond which nothing, not even light, can escape. The document classifies different types of black holes by mass and size.
The document discusses the 8 planets in our solar system from largest to smallest. Jupiter is the largest planet and Mercury is the smallest. It provides key details about each planet, such as their size ranking, distance from the sun, interesting features like Saturn's rings, and namesakes like Neptune being named after the Roman god of the sea.
The document discusses the strong relationship between Islam and science as evidenced by the Quran. It provides several examples:
1) Astronomy - verses from the Quran describing the Big Bang theory, expanding universe, and potential Big Crunch align with modern scientific understandings.
2) Embryology - verses describing embryonic development match what is now known about developmental stages.
3) Hydrology - the Quran's description of rain falling in measured amounts aligns with the water cycle.
4) Oceanography - verses correctly distinguishing between how two seas meet vs. fresh and salt water meet in estuaries.
It argues the Quran contained scientific knowledge well ahead of its time.
The document discusses how the Quran references various scientific fields like astronomy, biology, geology and physics. It provides examples of verses describing embryonic development, the water cycle, luminosity of celestial bodies, and the classification of animals. The purpose of including these scientific facts in the Quran was to guide humanity and demonstrate the truth contained in the holy book.
Percival Lowell was convinced of a ninth planet beyond Neptune. In 1930, Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto at Lowell Observatory. Pluto is the smallest and coldest planet, taking 248 Earth years to orbit the Sun. It has a thin atmosphere and five moons, including its largest Charon. In 2006, the IAU classified Pluto as a dwarf planet due to its small size. The New Horizons spacecraft will fly by Pluto in 2015 on its way to the Kuiper Belt.

New Horizons has travelled over 3 billion miles over 9 years to study Pluto and its moons up close. It will pass within 6,200 miles of Pluto in July, obtaining hundreds of thousands of images and measurements to transform our understanding. Currently very little is known about Pluto, but the data from New Horizons will fill textbooks. After studying Pluto, New Horizons will continue on into the Kuiper Belt to rendezvous with another small planet years from now.
The document describes three planets in our solar system - Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. It provides key details about each planet's position, size, rotation period, number of moons, composition, and notable features such as Jupiter's Great Red Spot, Saturn's rings, and Neptune's Great Dark Spot. The document conveys information about three gas giants in a concise list format.
Our Solar System is part of the Milky Way galaxy, which contains billions of stars. The Solar System contains 8 planets that orbit the Sun, including Earth. The 4 inner planets are terrestrial and rocky, while the 4 outer planets are gas giants. Other objects in our Solar System include comets, asteroids, and meteoroids. Comets are icy bodies that develop tails as they near the Sun. Asteroids orbit the Sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Meteoroids are smaller pieces of asteroids and become meteors if they enter Earth's atmosphere or meteorites if they reach the ground. Gravity and inertia work together to keep objects like the planets and Moon in orbit around other larger bodies.

This document is a report from the Mars Life Group consisting of 6 members who are submitting their work to their physics lecturer. It discusses the possibility of life on Mars and future visions for human missions to Mars. It provides evidence that Mars once had water and favorable conditions for life. It also outlines NASA's current Mars missions and goals to send humans to Mars in the 2030s. The group believes that with the immense size of the universe, it would be impossible for Earth to be the only planet harboring life.
This document discusses the intricate processes that occur constantly throughout the universe and human bodies. It notes that every second, billions of processes take place in the eye and cells are produced and replaced in the body. It emphasizes that all of these phenomena depend on precise balances and orders maintained by Allah to sustain life on Earth. The document urges readers to recognize Allah's perfect creation in the complex systems that exist within and around us.
The document discusses how modern cosmology has found that the Quran mentioned scientific facts about the universe over 1400 years ago. It discusses three main points:
1) The Quran stated the universe was created for a purpose and with order, matching current scientific understanding.
2) Dimensionless numbers like the gravitational constant are finely tuned for life in ways noted by scientists like Dirac and Hawking.
3) The formation of life-supporting stars and ordered galaxies by random chance is astronomically improbable, indicating the universe was designed rather than accidental.
The document discusses how scientific research has revealed a highly detailed and calculated structure throughout the universe. It notes that many physical properties, from the structure of atoms to gravity, stem from this ordered structure. It argues that the precise constants and laws governing the universe, from the Big Bang onwards, demonstrate it was created by an intelligent designer for human life rather than being the result of random chance. The document provides several examples of how delicate balances in forces like gravity and charges are necessary for life as we know it.

The document discusses the topic of creationism versus evolution and provides arguments against evolution and in favor of creationism. It references biblical passages and quotes from scientists to support the position that the earth is only thousands of years old according to the biblical account of creation, rather than billions of years old as proposed by evolution. It also questions evidence used to support evolution such as fossils, carbon dating, and theories of common descent.
The document discusses the topic of creationism versus evolution and provides arguments against evolution and in favor of creationism. It references biblical passages and quotes from scientists to support the view that the complexity of life requires an intelligent designer rather than having evolved through natural processes alone over billions of years. The document aims to inform others about this perspective and help believers strengthen their faith.
The document discusses the topic of creationism versus evolution and provides arguments against evolution and in favor of creationism. It references biblical passages and quotes from scientists to support the view that the complexity of life requires an intelligent designer rather than having evolved through natural processes alone over billions of years. The document questions some of the assumptions and evidence used to support evolutionary theory.
1) Jesus was sent by God to free humanity from sin and supported the truth of the Old Testament. This gives credibility to the biblical accounts of creation and God's relationship with humanity.
2) Jesus performed miracles like turning water to wine and resurrecting the dead that had not been done by others, showing he was the son of God.
3) The complexity and design of the human body, earth, and universe point to a creator rather than being a result of random chance.
1. The document discusses how Jesus Christ supports the truth of the Old Testament and provides credibility to the creation account in Genesis.
2. It argues that miracles performed by Jesus, such as turning water into wine, point to his divinity.
3. The complexity and design seen in the human body, earth, and universe are presented as evidence for an intelligent creator rather than purely naturalistic processes.
1. The document discusses how the complexity and design of the human body, earth, and universe point to an intelligent creator, God. It provides examples of how attributes such as the size of the earth and moon, composition of water, and functioning of the brain and eye could not have occurred by chance.
2. Quotes from scientists and the Bible are presented to argue that science and religion are compatible and that God created the world and humans.
3. The document asserts that evolution alone cannot explain the initial creation of living organisms and complex structures like the eye and brain, which require an intelligent designer.

The document discusses manifestations of Allah's names of Rahman (All-Merciful) and Rahim (Most Merciful) in the universe, life on Earth, the human body, and in animals and plants. It provides examples of how perfectly balanced conditions support life, from the formation of galaxies and conditions for life on Earth, to complex systems that regulate functions in the human body without any effort by humans. Everything demonstrates Allah's infinite mercy through protected and optimal conditions for survival.
PHI454 Current Issue In Science : Al Quran and Science : Compatible or Incomp...Abdul Hamzzah
The document discusses several scientific facts and theories that are mentioned in the Quran, including:
1) The Quran states that all living things are made of water, which modern science has discovered to be true.
2) Verses from the Quran correctly describe embryonic development stages and that everything is created in pairs, matching modern embryology.
3) Other concepts mentioned like the expanding universe, rotation of the sun, and spherical shape of Earth have been proven by science centuries later.
4) Additional topics covered are the origin of honey, existence of subatomic particles, and uniqueness of fingerprints, showing Quran's compatibility with science.
This document presents six arguments for why God may exist. First, it argues that the complexity and design of our planet, including its size, distance from the sun, moon, water, human brain, and eye, point to an intelligent designer. Second, it claims that the Big Bang that started the universe requires a cause. Third, it questions why the universe operates based on consistent, uniform laws of nature.
The document discusses various perspectives on the origins of the universe and life. It presents quotes and information that both support and question mainstream scientific theories like the Big Bang theory. It argues that the Big Bang requires supernatural beliefs and poses open questions about dark matter, dark energy, and problems with star formation that have no natural explanations. The document suggests an intelligent creator as an alternative perspective on origins.
The document discusses several topics related to chemistry that are mentioned in the Quran, including:
1. The origin of the universe from an initial singularity and its subsequent expansion, matching modern big bang theory.
2. The Quran's description of seven layers of the atmosphere matches modern science's understanding.
3. The Quran's mention of creation occurring in pairs anticipates the modern discovery of particles being created in pairs with their antiparticles.
4. Verses accurately describe the water cycle of evaporation, cloud formation, and rain long before modern scientific understanding.
1) The document discusses how both the Quran and modern science describe the potential end of the universe as the "Big Crunch", where the expansion of the universe will eventually stop and reverse, causing it to contract back towards its origin point.
2) It provides scientific evidence for the existence of dark matter, which scientists believe makes up around 90% of the universe's total mass and will help slow the expansion of the universe.
3) The document argues that the detailed scientific descriptions of cosmological phenomena like the Big Crunch in the Quran could not have been known by Muhammad in the 7th century, providing evidence that he must have received divine revelation and been a true prophet.
The document describes the six main interconnected spheres that make up Earth's systems: the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, and anthrosphere. It explains each sphere in 1-2 paragraphs, highlighting what they include and their role. For example, it notes the atmosphere contains nitrogen, oxygen, argon and carbon dioxide and allows water transfer through the hydrologic cycle. Throughout, it emphasizes how the spheres are dependent on each other and how human activity can impact their interconnections.
The document discusses several scientific facts mentioned in the Quran related to astronomy, biology and embryology that were discovered by modern science. It notes that the Quran revealed that the universe was initially smoke/gas, expanded continuously, and has layers of atmosphere protecting the earth. It also mentioned orbits, gravity, creation in pairs for reproduction, and embryonic development stages - all of which have since been scientifically proven but were unknown at the time the Quran was revealed. The document aims to show that given the scientific accuracy, the Quran must have divine origin.
This document presents 10 scientific facts mentioned in the Quran that have since been proven by modern science. It summarizes scientific concepts like the Big Bang theory of the universe's creation from a cloud of smoke, the expansion of the universe, orbits of celestial bodies, the protective atmosphere surrounding Earth, creation in pairs, relativity of time, proportion of rain, darkness in deep seas, and embryology. The document argues that these facts were described in the Quran over 1400 years ago without modern scientific knowledge, showing it to be ahead of its time.
The document summarizes the Big Bang Theory according to sacred literature and compares it to modern scientific understandings.
1. Sacred literature describes the universe starting as a rotating cosmic egg under God's control, which was tossed and enlarged, leading to the formation of countless creations.
2. The cosmic egg is said to have exploded after being under divine control for millions of years, forming the sun, moon, planets and stars - similar to the core concept of the Big Bang Theory.
3. Sacred texts also describe distances between celestial bodies like the sun and earth that align with modern scientific understandings, showing it contained knowledge of the solar system long before modern science.
This document discusses various Islamic practices and concepts. It begins by summarizing the five pillars of Islam - prayer, fasting, pilgrimage, charity, and the religious tax. It then discusses the remaining five practices - jihad, commanding good and forbidding evil, love of faith and disassociation from enemies. It defines jihad as having both a major spiritual component and a minor armed defensive component. It emphasizes that Islam promotes establishing peace and preventing evil in society through the principles of "enjoining good and forbidding wrong".
The document discusses proofs for the appointment of Imams by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It discusses four main hadiths and narratives as evidence:
1) The hadith of Thaqalayn which says to follow both the Quran and the Prophet's descendants.
2) The hadith of Safinah which compares the Prophet's household to Noah's Ark, saying those who follow them will be saved.
3) The verse of wilayah which discusses obeying Allah, the Prophet and believers, referring to Imam Ali when revealed.
4) The important hadith of Ghadir Khumm which the document says it will discuss in more detail
This document is part 5 of an introduction to Islam by Sayed Muhammad Husaini Raqeb from Qom, Iran in 2015. It discusses the eternal need for God and that God occupies no space. It argues that all creation needs God at every moment to continue existing, and if God ceased to will its existence, it would cease to be. It also explains that God's influence is not localized to any place, as He is not dependent on what He created like material things are. The document concludes that the Creator of the world has no location.
This document is a transcript from a lecture on Islam. It discusses ways of knowing God, including the inner or innate way. The inner way refers to believing in God through introspection and one's innate sense. The lecture gives an example of an atheist who, when stranded at sea in desperation, found a glimmer of hope in an unknown power, which the Imam said was God. The lecture prompts the audience to consider what the "outer way" of knowing God might be before concluding.

2. Design In The Universe
Orderliness Argument
In this universe, from the smallest atom to the
largest celestial bodies (i.e. the sun, moon, stars etc.) in
everything we see, we are reminded of its perfect
orderliness and exact regulation, so much so that,
great scientists have been provoked to amazement.
One look at the world around us makes it clear that
all things in it are in full coordination with one
another. The nourishment of living creatures, for
example, depends on the coordination between the
sun, clouds, rain, earth and its resources. All this
points to the existence of one coordinated system in
the universe.
3. There is so much orderliness in nature that
the scientists, by using the immutable laws of
nature, can explain the course, any
phenomenon will take before it occurs. For
this reason, scientists endeavor to discover
these laws. For, if these laws did not hold,
wouldn’t every kind of effort in this field be
fruitless???
5. The Earth
The earth in which we
live, with respect to its
size, its distance from
the sun, the speed of its
orbital movement, etc., is
so arranged that it is able
to act as the support for
life. If the smallest
change were to take
place in its condition,
losses of unacceptable
dimensions would occur.
6. The earth rotates on its axis at one
thousand miles an hour; if it turned at
one hundred miles an hour, our days
and nights would be ten times as long
as now, and the hot sun would then
burn up our vegetation during each
long day while in the long night any
surviving sprout would freeze.
7. The Sun Again, the sun, the source
of our life, has a surface
temperature of 12,000
degrees Fahrenheit, and our
earth is just far enough
away so that this `source of
life' warms us just enough
and not too much! If the sun
gave off only one-half of its
present radiation, we would
freeze, and if it gave half as
much more, we would roast.
8. The slant of the earth
The slant of the earth, tilted at an angle of 23
degrees, gives us our seasons; if it had not
been so tilted, vapors from the ocean would
move north and south, piling up for us
continents of ice. If our moon was, say, only
50 thousand miles away instead of its actual
distance, our tides would be so enormous that
twice a day all continents would go under the
water.
9.
10. The Atmosphere
The atmosphere, most of whose constituent
elements are life-giving gases, is sufficiently
viscous that it can, like a shield or armor, protect
the earth from the deadly attack of 200 million
meteors every day, which approach the earth
with a speed of 50 km per second. The
responsibility for regulating the temperature of
the earth's surface within limits which maintain
life also belongs to the atmosphere, and if it did
not exist, inhabited land, like the dry deserts,
would become incapable of supporting life.
11. (ُه َو ۖ اًظوُفْحَم اًفْقَس َءاَمَّسال َانْلَعَج َوَونُض ِرْعُم اَهِتاَيآ ْنَع ْم)
19:32
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but
they are turning away, from its signs.
12. Human Body
Nearer than anything else is our own body. The
mysteries of man's existence are without number,
so much so that the world's scientists, after years
of research and study, have not yet been able to
discover all the wonders of it. After many years of
study, Dr. Alexis Carel wrote a book called
(Man, the Unknown). He confessed that biology
and other sciences were still unable to discover
the facts about the working of the human body,
and that many problems remained to be a
mystery.
13. Due to lack of time
We don’t go through the examples of Human
Body mysteries
14. Conclusion
We must confess that the world of
existence firmly rests on the
foundation of perfect orderliness,
and undoubtedly every orderliness
and design is the creation and
accomplishment of a wise and
powerful maker.
15. The same argument demonstrates that
design and orderliness must
have originated from a source of
knowledge and power, and that chance
cannot be the origin of marvels, having
design and orderliness, simply because
everything produces a particular effect: it is
incorrect to suppose
that design and order should come from
chance or mere accident. The
scientific “law of probability” makes it
impossible to explain the coordination
in this world on the basis of chance.
16. The law of probability
According to the law of probability, for
example, an illiterate person can never write
an essay by randomly hitting the keys of a
typewriter. Similarly, the present system in our
universe could never have come to exist on
the basis of chance or accident.
17. It therefore follows that the wonderful
design and order that is observed
in the human body and in the universe
around us constitutes complete evidence
and living proof that :
The universe has a wise and powerful
designer and creator.
The more we learn about the system of
creation, the more aware we become of
the greatness of its Creator.
18. So, there is not even
one chance in
millions that the
whole creation is an
accident.
19. ِيمِحَّٱلر ِن ٰمْحَّٱلر ِ هٱّٰلل ِم ْسِب
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
2:190
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the
alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of
understanding.
