Learning Management Systems LMS – ferramentas diferentes integradas em um sistema único.
LMS An LMS has a long creation/breakdown process and once the learning structure has been broken down (i.e. end of course), it is no longer accessible to learners). Essentially, most LMS platforms are attempting to shape the future of learning to fit into the structure of their systems, even though most learning today is informal and connectionist in nature. When content is viewed as the most valuable contribution to learning, an LMS will suffice. When interaction and connections are viewed as the most valuable aspect of learning, then other options - like social tools - are reasonable alternative. LMS LMS vs PLE Source http: //mohamedaminechat ti. blogspot . com/2007/03/lms-vs-ple . html Mohamed Amine Chatti PLE- Personal learning environment
Ambiente pessoal de aprendizagem Para alguns autores esse é mais um conceito do que um ambiente e procura fomentar a aprendizagem para toda a vida, aprendizagem informal, aprendizagem vista como processo e não só como resultado, diferentes estilos de aprendizagem: “ PLEs provide learners with their own spaces undertheir own control to develop and share their ideas.” http://www.elearningeuropa.info/files/media/media11561.pdf “ Rather than integrating different tools into a centralized system, the idea is to provide the learner with a myriad of tools and hand over control to her to select, combine and use the tools the way she deems fit.”. http://edutechwiki.unige.ch/en/Personal_learning_environment
" a PLE is characterized by the freeform use of a set of lightweight services and tools that belong to and are controlled by individual learners. The idea is to provide the learner with a myriad of services and hand over control to her to select and use the services the way she deems fit to create her integrated PLE better adapted to her own situation and needs. Social Virtual Networks “ ELGG is a social software system that has gained quite a lot of attention in the educational community. Elgg is an open source social networking platform developed for LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) which encompasses weblogging, file storage, RSS aggregation, personal profiles, FOAF functionality and more.”
