DMRE Vortrag Unbundling PropTech: Was Real Estate von den Medien lernen kann....Digitalmeetsrealestate.com
The document discusses how the real estate industry can learn from the media industry's transition to digital. It notes that Axel Springer transformed from a print publisher with 0.2% digital revenue in 2004 to a digital media company with 80% digital revenue in 2017 by pursuing an ecosystem approach. This involved investing over €4 billion through both organic growth and acquisitions to develop over 100 digital companies across different business models like news media, classifieds, and marketing. The document argues the real estate industry needs a similar transition and unbundling of business models to develop specialized PropTech companies that can be scaled individually.

The document discusses trends in digital workplaces and flexible workspaces in major cities. It notes that freelancing is growing significantly, with over 4 million freelancers in France, and cities are transforming office space to address these trends. Examples are given of coworking spaces supported by the City of Paris and new flexible office developments by companies in Greater Paris aimed at cost savings. Venture-backed shared workspace companies like WeWork and Liquidspace that allow short-term rental of offices through apps are discussed. The future of work is argued to be enabled by an "Uberization" of workplaces through digital technology and apps that facilitate finding, renting, and accessing workspaces and cloud-based work resources.
The document discusses a Smart ULD solution that uses mobile apps, IoT, and blockchain technology to digitize the ULD handling process, provide real-time visibility of ULD location and conditions, and create a single source of truth for supply chain stakeholders. Key aspects of the solution include a mobile app for digitizing ground activities and documentation, sensors on ULDs for tracking location and monitoring conditions, and a blockchain network for sharing events and automating processes across the supply chain. The solution aims to address challenges of manual paperwork, poor tracking and collaboration in air cargo by transforming it through new technologies.
The document discusses how new technologies like artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain can transform air travel and airports. It provides data on airport plans to use these technologies for applications like monitoring assets, waste management, and smart baggage tracking using IoT. It also examines how airports are evaluating using blockchain for benefits like passenger identification, frequent flyer programs, and maintenance records. The document envisions a future of converged technologies where data is captured by IoT devices, automated by AI, and managed securely using blockchain. It provides a cargo asset tracking example combining these technologies.

This is changing people´s behaviour and how people shop and use services. The organizational structure created in the 20th century cannot survive when new digital solution are being offered. The hierarchical structure of these established companies assumes high coordination cost due to human activity. But when the coordination cost drops
The organizational structure that companies in the 20th century established was based on the fact that employees needed to do all the work. The coordination cost was high due to the effort and cost of employees, housing etc. Now we have software that can do this for use and the coordination cost drops to close-to-zero. Another thing is that things become free. Consider Flickr. Anybody can sign up and use the service for free. Only a fraction of the users get pro account and pay. How can Flickr make money on that? It turns out that services like this can.
Many businesses make money by giving things away. How can that possibly work? The music business has suffered severely with digital distribution of content. Should musicians put all there songs on YouTube? What is the future business model for music?

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of technologies, XML continues to play a vital role in structuring, storing, and transporting data across diverse systems. The recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) present new methodologies for enhancing XML development workflows, introducing efficiency, automation, and intelligent capabilities. This presentation will outline the scope and perspective of utilizing AI in XML development. The potential benefits and the possible pitfalls will be highlighted, providing a balanced view of the subject.
We will explore the capabilities of AI in understanding XML markup languages and autonomously creating structured XML content. Additionally, we will examine the capacity of AI to enrich plain text with appropriate XML markup. Practical examples and methodological guidelines will be provided to elucidate how AI can be effectively prompted to interpret and generate accurate XML markup.
Further emphasis will be placed on the role of AI in developing XSLT, or schemas such as XSD and Schematron. We will address the techniques and strategies adopted to create prompts for generating code, explaining code, or refactoring the code, and the results achieved.
The discussion will extend to how AI can be used to transform XML content. In particular, the focus will be on the use of AI XPath extension functions in XSLT, Schematron, Schematron Quick Fixes, or for XML content refactoring.
The presentation aims to deliver a comprehensive overview of AI usage in XML development, providing attendees with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions. Whether you’re at the early stages of adopting AI or considering integrating it in advanced XML development, this presentation will cover all levels of expertise.
By highlighting the potential advantages and challenges of integrating AI with XML development tools and languages, the presentation seeks to inspire thoughtful conversation around the future of XML development. We’ll not only delve into the technical aspects of AI-powered XML development but also discuss practical implications and possible future directions.
