The Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the Philippines is a free education program run by the Department of Education that provides an alternative to formal schooling for those who cannot attend regular classes, such as drop-outs, unemployed youth, and workers. ALS offers various literacy and skills programs delivered through community-based, mobile, and technology-based methods. It also provides an Accreditation and Equivalency program that allows students to earn elementary or secondary level certificates to continue their education or pursue employment opportunities.
