protagonist, immediately tells the audience that he is judged based upon his
appearance. The way she covers it up with a nervous laughter creates a
disheartening tone, displaying to the audience how his looks have affected him
throughout his life. There are also diegetic noises of their footsteps and her
unlocking the front door, which keeps the music video realistic. At the end, we hear
the sound of her kissing him on the cheek giving him hope as she has finally shown
interest in him after all this time.

attire. His love interest is dressed in more stylish clothes with natural make-up. The
protagonist has heavy costume make-up to make his face appear freakishly different.
The lighting throughout is quite dark and dim, setting the mood for the music which is
sad but promising. There are various props used, the most significant being a
mug, which has had its words scribbled out to ‘World’s Greatest Freak’, conveying how
the character is criticized for the way he looks and causes the audience to sympathise
with him.
