This document discusses man's nature according to Al-Ghazali. It states that man is composed of a soul and body, with the soul being divine and eternal while the body is temporary. The soul comes to the world through the body in order to acquire knowledge and prepare for the afterlife. Man has four elements - animality, bestiality, diabolic, and lordly - that develop at different stages and influence his actions. Al-Ghazali also discusses the four faculties of the soul - desire, anger, knowledge, and justice - and how they interact with one another and can be controlled or lead to evil.
