Chance The Rapper's 2016 album 'Colouring Book' continued his tradition of using brightly colored, cartoon-like album covers begun with 'Acid Rap' and '10 Day'. The cover for 'Colouring Book' depicts Chance smiling down while holding his newborn child. Throughout the album, the title 'Colouring Book' is featured prominently, promoting the bright colors reminiscent of the front cover.

Transforming Brand Perception and Boosting Profitability
Album research
1. 'Colouring Book', released in 2016 by the rap
artist Chance The Rapper, this is his third
album, with a common link with the style of
the album covers. Similar to 'Acid Rap' and
'10 Day', the covers involve a painted style
with bright lurid colours to make it cartoon
like.
Moreover, the use of the
contrasting colours of the Blues
and the Pinks to link to the title
'Colouring Book'.
I especially like this one due to the
meaning behind the cover, through
his album covers, Chance shows the
progression of his life famous,
connoting his journey. For this one,
Chance is looking down with a
genuine smile, this was part of a
painting of chance holding his new-
born child, originally a picture of his
reaction.
The use of the title ‘Colouring Book’ is
used throughout especially for the back
cover as well as the vinyl itself,
promoting the bright colours which
replicates the front cover.
2. 'Recovery' is the
seventh album by
rapper Eminem,
released in 2010
after his album from
the year before
'Relapse'.
Both these digipaks connote Eminem's struggle with
addiction, and shows how he's on the road to recovery
through the first image of the 'Recovery' album cover, the
other album cover suggests a sense of isolation with a un-
naturalistic image of Eminem confinement in a see
through cube in a middle of a city, to represents his
isolation from the rest of the world, creating a peaceful
image by the fact he is reading.
My first opinions of
this digipak was how I
believe its quite
symbolic and
represents Eminem's
journey, through the
use of his songs and
albums.
The back cover has a similar image of
isolation which is established in the
front cover. Moreover, the cross sign
that is on the title ‘Recovery’ is also
used for the centre of the vinyl.
