The document discusses the harms of plastic pollution. It notes that 1 million plastic cups are trashed every 6 hours on flights, 60,000 plastic bags are discarded every 5 seconds, and 2 million plastic bottles are dumped every 5 minutes. It then explains what plastic is, its different types, and how long it takes each type to decompose (hundreds to thousands of years). The effects of plastic pollution on the environment, animals, and humans are described. Finally, it promotes reducing, reusing, and recycling plastic to help address the problem and proposes respecting the environment as another solution.
Plastic is non biodegradable meaning the decomposition is not easy. Plastic bags would take about 400 years to fully decompose which is a long process and no one would live to see that. This presentation illustrates some of the most dangerous harms of using plastic bags

What is The Meaning Of Biodegradation?
A biodegradable product can dissolve easily in the environment without destroying nature. It’s the opposite of plastic and Styrofoam, which harm the environment.
The meaning of biodegradation is breaking down of organic substances by the help of other living organisms such as bacteria and microbes.
History:
The first known use of the word in biological text was in 1961 when employed to describe the breakdown of material into the base components of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen by microorganisms .
Whenever word plastic comes to our mind the first thing that strikes is HARMFUL!
So here is a little presentation to show how to convert that harmful thing into something innovative :)

The map views are useful for providing a geographical representation of data. They allow users to visualize and analyze the data in a more intuitive manner.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

19. How long does plastic take
to decompose????
F.Y.I. Plastics
do not
decompose!!!!
NEVER!
20. It only breaks down into
molecules.
Molecules that are
harmful to the
environment.
21. Plastics are
believed not to
decompose but only
photo degrade.
22. Decomposition vs. Photo
Degradation
Decomposition is “the
chemical breakdown of
organic matter into its
constituents by the action of
bacteria,” while photo
degradation is, “the process
by which chemical bonds are
broken down by photons in
the sun’s light spectrum.”
24. A very long long long
time…….
In a way that it is being
estimated up to
hundreds…..thousands
of… years.. depends
upon its composition..
25. Types of Plastic:
Plastic #1: Polyethylene
terephtalate, also known as
PETE or PET. Usually clear
in color, the vast majority of
disposable soda and water
bottles are made of this
plastic. Range from 5 to 10
years.
26. Types of Plastic:
Plastic #2: High-density
polyethylene, or HDPE.
Most milk jugs, detergent
bottles, juice bottles, butter
tubs, and toiletries bottles
are made of HDPE. It takes
100 years depending on the
thickness of the plastic used.
27. Types of Plastic:
Plastic #3: Polyvinyl
chloride, or PVC. It is used
to make food wrap, bottles
for cooking oil, and the
highly common plumbing
pipes.
28. Types of Plastic:
Plastic #4: Low-density
polyethylene (LDPE) is used
to make grocery bags, some
food wraps, squeezable
bottles, and bread bags. 500
years with a conservative
average time of 1000 years.
29. Types of Plastic:
Plastic #5: This is
polypropylene. Common items
produced with it include yogurt
cups, medicine bottles,
ketchup, syrup bottles, straws
and similar wide-necked
containers, as well as water
bottles with a cloudy finish.
30. Types of Plastic:
Plastic #6: Polystyrene, or
Styrofoam, from which
disposable containers and
packaging are made. Also
found in disposable plates and
cups. This type of plastic will
break down in under 50 years.
31. Types of Plastic:
Plastic #7: Other Types
- This includes anything not
in codes one through six.
Most plastics in this section
do not breakdown and are
considered permanently,
chemically bonded.
39. Chemicals used in the
production are highly toxic
& pose serious treat to
living beings of all
species.. It can cause
cancer, skin & respiratory
problems……
40. And it may causes...caused…
will cause…..
FLOODS!!!
61. RECYCLE
When waste is eventually
discarded, segregating
items for recycling from
other waste is important.
Recyclables include
glass, newspaper,
aluminum, cardboard and
a surprising array of other
materials.
