Environment pollution monitoring system using internet of things
Environment pollution is one of the core problems which is hampering the natural inhabitants. The most common examples of environment pollutions are massive emissions of Carbon-dioxide (CO2) gas, smoke from chimneys, which basically fall under Air pollution, and then there are also Sound pollution and Water pollution which adds to the list. In our project, the main objective is the measurement of the pollutants in nature and store the data in a “Cloud Server” which would be integrated with Raspberry pi so that, anyone can have access to read the data of various parameters which are responsible for environment pollution using laptops, computers, smartphones or any kind of smart devices through the internet.
• Why Important?
It is important for us to keep track of the pollution levels because once they cross the safe limits, it will be detrimental to our surroundings. Moreover, Dhaka is one of the most populated cities around the world, and this is why this measurement of Environment Pollution will come in handy as the system we are setting up will collect data and send it to store them in a cloud which would be sent to the authorities so that they can take the measures to control the damage.
• Utility (Service)
Cloud IoT platforms provides several kinds of services that are very useful. Cloud data storage system enables users to store data sent from different boards (like Arduino or Raspberry pi). The data can be accessed from anywhere around the world, so that they can be analyzed later for future purposes. The data collected is a real time scenario, so that people can see it on the website the condition of the environment by seeing the data and the responsible authority can compare these at different locations.
In our work so far, we have used Arduino, which is an open source electronic platform based on easy-to-hardware and software. Arduino boards can read inputs from a sensor and turn them into outputs by obeying the set of instructions given to the microcontroller on the board. This has been achieved by using the Arduino programming language and Arduino programming software.
The sole purpose of using Arduino as a medium and not directly send it to the cloud using Raspberry pi is because the sensors in Arduino are analogue but, raspberry pi has all digital ports. Arduino has both digital and analogue pins.

Most of the major cities in developing countries and most cities of the developed countries are suffering from it. Thus to develop a real time air quality and pollution monitoring system is critical. We have developed an arduino based air pollution detector which combined a small-sized, minimum-cost sensor to an arduino micro-controller unit.

An IOT based Smart Traffic Management System
A smart traffic management is a wide topic of research. Many modifications can be made to make the urban traffic flow smoothly on the roads. The increasing utilization of private vehicles and public transportation due to advancement of technology causes hectic traffic complexities for the civilians across the globe. The problem of traffic congestion is an everyday problem for human resource and therefore hinders the growth of the country by affecting its productivity as well as economy. Moreover, the traffic signaling systems have predetermined fixed operational time which fails to manage the traffic density changing with time and thus, long traffic queues are formed at the road crossings resulting in increased pollution and waiting time. In this paper, we tried to provide solution to reduce the waiting time at road crossings while keeping in mind the importance of time of the citizens as well as the emergency service providers (such as EMS i.e. Emergency Medical Services, Fire and Rescue Services, etc.). The presented system in this paper is based on smart traffic congestion control system that will automatically set the signal time based on the measured values of vehicle density on road lanes. However, the manual changes can also be made to traffic signals for efficient traffic management in case of emergencies. This paper presents an idea of traffic management using internet of things (IOT). The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a system of internet-connected objects that are able to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention. This technology provides an effective communication between different signals and helps in collection of data thereby providing an IoT based smart traffic management system in terms of its automated tracking, monitoring and controlling of vehicles and its data processing.

Air Quality Monitoring System Using Wireless Sensor Networks
In real-time accurate and sensitive data collection under varying temperature and humidity microenvironments. Additionally, because the velocities of the particles change under varying temperature and humidity conditions according to the Ideal Gas Law, it is important for the system to be examined separately under each variable condition in a controlled manner. For instance, the water particles produced under changing humidity can interfere with the dust particle measurements in the optical sensor, and as a result, increase the sampled particle concentration. Another inaccurate reading can be caused when the air temperature increases, as the velocity of the dust particles that pass across the optical sensor increase. Consequently, the wireless sensor was calibrated by observing the results of the professional Dylos and the wireless sensor separately under these varying conditions. Then, we conducted two different tests to verify the functionality and durability of the sensor. These tests were performed for 24 hours both indoors and outdoors to test the reliability and accuracy of the wireless sensors against the Dylos air quality monitoring. In this system, we proposed wireless sensor network to monitor the temperature , humidity and also the gas leakage of industrial applications .By introducing this we can monitor the sensor parameter values in wireless communication and also we can upload the sensor parameter values in web portal. For Wireless communication we are using here is WSN, which helps to collect all nodes data's and can be monitored in PC and can also upload in web portal so that for anywhere in this world we can monitor these conditions. An IOT based Smart Traffic Management System
A smart traffic management is a wide topic of research. Many modifications can be made to make the urban traffic flow smoothly on the roads. The increasing utilization of private vehicles and public transportation due to advancement of technology causes hectic traffic complexities for the civilians across the globe. The problem of traffic congestion is an everyday problem for human resource and therefore hinders the growth of the country by affecting its productivity as well as economy. Moreover, the traffic signaling systems have predetermined fixed operational time which fails to manage the traffic density changing with time and thus, long traffic queues are formed at the road crossings resulting in increased pollution and waiting time. In this paper, we tried to provide solution to reduce the waiting time at road crossings while keeping in mind the importance of time of the citizens as well as the emergency service providers (such as EMS i.e. Emergency Medical Services, Fire and Rescue Services, etc.). The presented system in this paper is based on smart traffic congestion control system that will automatically set the signal time based on the measured values of vehicle density on road lanes. However, the manual changes can also be made to traffic signals for efficient traffic management in case of emergencies. This paper presents an idea of traffic management using internet of things (IOT). The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a system of internet-connected objects that are able to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention. This technology provides an effective communication between different signals and helps in collection of data thereby providing an IoT based smart traffic management system in terms of its automated tracking, monitoring and controlling of vehicles and its data processing.

Air Quality Monitoring System Using Wireless Sensor Networks
In real-time accurate and sensitive data collection under varying temperature and humidity microenvironments. Additionally, because the velocities of the particles change under varying temperature and humidity conditions according to the Ideal Gas Law, it is important for the system to be examined separately under each variable condition in a controlled manner. For instance, the water particles produced under changing humidity can interfere with the dust particle measurements in the optical sensor, and as a result, increase the sampled particle concentration. Another inaccurate reading can be caused when the air temperature increases, as the velocity of the dust particles that pass across the optical sensor increase. Consequently, the wireless sensor was calibrated by observing the results of the professional Dylos and the wireless sensor separately under these varying conditions. Then, we conducted two different tests to verify the functionality and durability of the sensor. These tests were performed for 24 hours both indoors and outdoors to test the reliability and accuracy of the wireless sensors against the Dylos air quality monitoring. In this system, we proposed wireless sensor network to monitor the temperature , humidity and also the gas leakage of industrial applications .By introducing this we can monitor the sensor parameter values in wireless communication and also we can upload the sensor parameter values in web portal. For Wireless communication we are using here is WSN, which helps to collect all nodes data's and can be monitored in PC and can also upload in web portal so that for anywhere in this world we can monitor these conditions. This paper contain brief introduction to vehicular pollution, effect of increase in vehicular pollution on environment as well on human health. To monitor this pollution wireless sensor network (WSN) system is proposed. The proposed system consists of a Mobile Data-Acquisition Unit (Mobile-DAQ) and a fixed Internet-Enabled Pollution Monitoring Server (Pollution-Server). The Mobile-DAQ unit integrates a single-chip microcontroller, air pollution sensors array, a General Packet Radio Service Modem (GPRS-Modem), and a Global Positioning System Module (GPS-Module). The Pollution-Server is a high-end personal computer application server with Internet connectivity. The Mobile-DAQ unit gathers air pollutants levels (CO, NO2, and SO2), and packs them in a frame with the GPS physical location, time, and date. The frame is subsequently uploaded to the GPRS-Modem and transmitted to the Pollution-Server via the public mobile network. A database server is attached to the Pollution- Server for storing the pollutants level for further usage by various clients such as environment protection agencies, vehicles registration authorities, and tourist and insurance companies.

Global warming is referred to the rise in average surface temperatures on earth primarily due to the Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions such as Carbon Dioxide (CO ). Monitoring the emissions, either direct or indirect from the industrial processes, is important to control or to minimize their impact on the environment. Most of the existing environmental monitoring system is being designed and developed for normal environment monitoring. Hence, the aim of this project is to develop industrial CO 2 emission monitoring system which implements industrial Open Platform Communications (OPC) protocol in an embedded microcontroller. The software algorithm based on OPC data format has been designed and programmed into the Arduino microcontroller to interface the sensor data to any existing industrial OPC compliant Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The system has been successfully tested in a lab with the suitable environment for real-time CO emissions measurement. The real-time measurement data has been shown in an industrial SCADA application which indicates successful implementation of the OPC communications protocol.

Each node is installed in a different room and includes tin dioxide sensor arrays connected to an acquisition system. The nodes are hardwired or wirelessly connected to a central monitoring unit. To increase the gas concentration measurement accuracy, two gas sensor influence quantities like temperature and humidity are also measured. Therefore, the proposed work is multi parameter data acquisition system for air quality monitoring and to publish the data over internet through embedded web server. The data of the different sensors are transmitted using the wireless transmission technique and it is published over the internet.

Now due to the increase in the number of vehicles in the road there is that much of an increase in the pollutant levels being increased onto the environment. The major sources of air pollution are CO, NOx and HC and these are a major degradation factor to the environment. To tackle this problem this paper talks about a monitoring system which is placed on the automobile to measure the pollutant levels emerging from the vehicle. On top of that some safety features have been added as well for the driver and all of the people traveling in the vehicle in the form of an alcohol sensor and a seat belt sensor. How this works is that the sensors are placed on the vehicle and can be connected through the users android device. The android device through a WiFi connection is connected to the server, the server is connected to a database and that database has the administrator PC to view and monitor the data. The safety feature is the addition of the alcohol sensor which is connected to the ignition of the vehicle and how it works is that if the driver has any alcohol and it is detected by the sensor then automobile will not start, hence adding an additional safety measure to the vehicle on top of pollution monitoring. This project works on an IoT environment and there is a lot of scope with smart devices in the future.

This system targets on sensing the soil moisture and temperature using the sensors and provide the data to the Thing speak server after which the farmer can decide whether to ON or OFF the pump.

Smart water tank
This document describes a smart water tank project that uses an ultrasonic sensor and Arduino to automatically control a motor based on water level. When the water level drops below a certain point, the ultrasonic sensor detects this and turns the motor on to refill the tank. When the water reaches a full level, the sensor turns the motor off. An intermediate level triggers a text message on a mobile phone via GSM modem to notify the tank is at 50% capacity. The system is designed to automatically regulate water levels in applications like hotels, factories and homes to efficiently control water pumps.
K tree
K-D trees are binary search trees for organizing points in a k-dimensional space. This document describes a 2D K-D tree, where each node contains an (x,y) point and levels alternate between using the x-coordinate and y-coordinate for sorting. K-D trees provide efficient lookup of nearest neighbors and range queries, with insertion and retrieval taking O(log N) time on average for a balanced tree of N points.

Low power architecture of logic gates using adiabatic techniques
The growing significance of portable systems to limit power consumption in ultra-large-scale-integration chips of very high density, has recently led to rapid and inventive progresses in low-power design. The most effective technique is adiabatic logic circuit design in energy-efficient hardware. This paper presents two adiabatic approaches for the design of low power circuits, modified positive feedback adiabatic logic (modified PFAL) and the other is direct current diode based positive feedback adiabatic logic (DC-DB PFAL). Logic gates are the preliminary components in any digital circuit design. By improving the performance of basic gates, one can improvise the whole system performance. In this paper proposed circuit design of the low power architecture of OR/NOR, AND/NAND, and XOR/XNOR gates are presented using the said approaches and their results are analyzed for powerdissipation, delay, power-delay-product and rise time and compared with the other adiabatic techniques along with the conventional complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) designs reported in the literature. It has been found that the designs with DC-DB PFAL technique outperform with the percentage improvement of 65% for NOR gate and 7% for NAND gate and 34% for XNOR gate over the modified PFAL techniques at 10 MHz respectively.

DEEP LEARNING FOR SMART GRID INTRUSION DETECTION: A HYBRID CNN-LSTM-BASED MODEL
As digital technology becomes more deeply embedded in power systems, protecting the communication
networks of Smart Grids (SG) has emerged as a critical concern. Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3)
represents a multi-tiered application layer protocol extensively utilized in Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition (SCADA)-based smart grids to facilitate real-time data gathering and control functionalities.
Robust Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are necessary for early threat detection and mitigation because
of the interconnection of these networks, which makes them vulnerable to a variety of cyberattacks. To
solve this issue, this paper develops a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) model specifically designed for intrusion
detection in smart grids. The proposed approach is a combination of the Convolutional Neural Network
(CNN) and the Long-Short-Term Memory algorithms (LSTM). We employed a recent intrusion detection
dataset (DNP3), which focuses on unauthorized commands and Denial of Service (DoS) cyberattacks, to
train and test our model. The results of our experiments show that our CNN-LSTM method is much better
at finding smart grid intrusions than other deep learning algorithms used for classification. In addition,
our proposed approach improves accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, achieving a high detection
accuracy rate of 99.50%.
Embedded machine learning-based road conditions and driving behavior monitoring
Car accident rates have increased in recent years, resulting in losses in human lives, properties, and other financial costs. An embedded machine learning-based system is developed to address this critical issue. The system can monitor road conditions, detect driving patterns, and identify aggressive driving behaviors. The system is based on neural networks trained on a comprehensive dataset of driving events, driving styles, and road conditions. The system effectively detects potential risks and helps mitigate the frequency and impact of accidents. The primary goal is to ensure the safety of drivers and vehicles. Collecting data involved gathering information on three key road events: normal street and normal drive, speed bumps, circular yellow speed bumps, and three aggressive driving actions: sudden start, sudden stop, and sudden entry. The gathered data is processed and analyzed using a machine learning system designed for limited power and memory devices. The developed system resulted in 91.9% accuracy, 93.6% precision, and 92% recall. The achieved inference time on an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense with a 32-bit CPU running at 64 MHz is 34 ms and requires 2.6 kB peak RAM and 139.9 kB program flash memory, making it suitable for resource-constrained embedded systems.
