This document describes a smart waste management system using sensors in dustbins. Dustbins are equipped with ultrasonic sensors to detect fill levels and GPS to track locations. When bins reach maximum capacity, the system notifies authorities to schedule collection. It aims to optimize collection routes and reduce costs, vehicles, and environmental impact compared to traditional waste management. Some challenges include cost effectiveness and difficulty standardizing practices across sites. Further development could expand to separate wet and dry waste collection to enable biogas recovery.
