I am a civil engineer with over 16 years of experience as a quality control, construction,
contracts, claims and arbitration manager in buildings, roads and water projects. During my
career I have successfully managed large teams in delivering complex projects, including acting
as project manager in projects in excess of AED 1 billion. In addition I was responsible for the
management of seven arbitrations in Dubai over a period of three years, including managing
teams of lawyers and consultants and employing experts and arbitrators, at the end of which I
played an important role in negotiating an amicable settlement for Taisei. Currently I am the
Deputy General Manager for Taisei Corporation in United Arab Emirates and run the Dubai
office reporting directly to the General Manager in Tokyo.

April 2012 to Date Taisei Corporation Deputy General Manager
Assisting the Dubai Office General Manager in effectively and efficiently managing the Dubai
office. Communicating with Client’s and Subcontractor’s to close out outstanding disputes
related to completed/terminated projects. In addition, liaising with local authorities for close
out of completed projects such as RTA, DEWA, DM etc. Moreover, responsible for the
preparation, review and negotiation of settlement agreements with clients/subcontractors and
following up and managing ongoing disputes in the UAE Courts. Finally, being in Charge of the
company’s arbitration process including but not limited to the following tasks:
 Setting out arbitration schedule and expected budget against which the process will be
monitored;
 Coordinating with lawyers and preparing clear summaries describing the nature of the
dispute and providing chronologies in line with the facts;
 Reviewing project briefing issued to candidate Arbitrators, Experts and Queens Counsel
(QC);
 Interviewing and assisting in the selection of Arbitrators, Experts and Queens Counsel;
 Attending negotiations with clients and preparing responses to their comments on their
submitted claims; and
 Reviewing, assessing and commenting on the contractual and factual validity of
statements of claim.
April 2010 to March 2012 Taisei Corporation Business Development Manager
Managing the tendering process for mega projects including the review of tender documents,
identifying project risks, attending pre-tender meetings and presentations to the client and/or
their representatives. In addition, I was responsible for liaising with clients for the close out of
completed project, reviewing settlement agreements with clients/subcontractors and assisting
in the preparation of claim documents along with appointed claims consultant for seven
uncompleted projects that were terminated in 2009 during the global financial crisis. I was also
in charge of reviewing and negotiating the final account with subcontractors/suppliers.
Following up new project opportunities and setting up meetings with new clients, maintaining
efficient business relationships with existing clients to enhance profitability of business
operations, planning and preparing presentations for clients, setting market strategies for long
term growth, identifying and studying other potential markets and preparing country study,
categorizing local market competitors with regards to fields of experience and identifying future
JV partners for Mega projects and providing management with feedback on the development of
Construction Markets in the Middle East
In December 2008 to March 2010 Assistant Project Director for Gateway Towers Project.
Assisting the Project Director in managing daily contractual correspondences with clients,
subcontractors and suppliers. Assisting in the preparation of time related claims, including
establishing contractual and legal entitlements, and gathering all related substantiations for the
extension of time and time-related costs. In addition, I was part of the team involved in the
negotiation process of Taisei’s final account with clients. Finally, I was in charge of the close out
of subcontractors and suppliers final accounts and coordinating with the local authority for the
partial handing over of the project prior to the project termination for the Employer’s
convenience.
September 2006 to November 2008 Taisei Corporation Company as a Senior QA/QC Manager
for the Gateway Towers Project and Downtown Jabel Ali Project
I was in charge of the preparation of project specific QA/QC Plan, quality procedures, quality
assurance forms, method statements and inspection and test plans. I had full responsibility for
the review and approval of all technical submittal before submitting the same for the Engineer’s
approval. Also I was responsible, assisted by the in-house QA/QC team, for monitoring the
quality of the permanent works including all required coordination with electromechanical
works to identify and resolve any possible conflicts between different trades at site. In addition,
I was responsible for conducting internal audits for subcontractors/suppliers including the
preparation of internal audit report and preparation of statistical analysis to control the quality
of the supplied concrete. Moreover, I was in charge of monitoring the design process to insure
compliance with the contract conditions and responsible for design coordination between Local
Authorities and project design team to ensure timely approval of the design.
February 2005 to August 2006 AM&S L.L.C. (Ali Moosa & Sons) Company as QA/QC Manager
for MED 2 A Project at Discovery Garden.
I was in charge of the preparation of project specific QA/QC Plan, quality procedures, quality

Toward the final handing over stage of the project I became the Acting Project Manager fully
responsible for all contractual correspondences with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. In
addition, I was responsible for the preparation of variations documents, extension of time
claims and negotiating the same with the client/project consultant. Furthermore I was
responsible for the closeout of our subcontractor/suppliers final accounts. I was also in charge
of preparing the monthly progress report, monitor the progress of work, determine the process
objectives and establish performance measures that facilitate the achievement of organization
objectives. Moreover, I was responsible for determining the activities required to achieve the
objectives and design the process so that the sequence and interaction of the activities and use
of resources will achieve objectives. Organizing personnel and empower responsibility /
delegate authority of actions and decisions that may be required to achieve objectives. I was
also responsible for determining the appropriateness of the installed communication system

independent site quality control engineer and the project consultant and finally responsible for
the coordination between civil and electromechanical works to identify and resolve any

Manager for Alexandria Waste Water Treatment Plant Project, Phase II.
Full responsibility for site preparing and mobilizing works. I addition I was responsible for

tanks, pumping stations and equalization canal including the coordination between the

October 1999 to July 2000, ADECON as a Site Engineer for the construction of parametrical
factory in Alexandria
Full responsibility for the construction of the power plant building, social building and
underground water tank including formwork, steel fixing and high performance of finishing and
the coordination between the company and the main contractor in discussing quantities and
invoice.

I had full responsibility for the review and approval of all technical submittal before submitting the same for the Engineer’s approval. Also I was responsible, assisted by the in-house QA/QC team, for monitoring the quality of the permanent works including all required coordination with electromechanical works to identify and resolve any possible conflicts between different trades at site. In addition I was responsible for the construction of the major water tank works including the coordination between the independent site quality control engineer and the project consultant and finally responsible for the coordination between civil and electromechanical works to identify and resolve any possible conflicts between different trades at site. July 2000 to April 2003, ABB SUSA INC. (ASEA BROWN BOVER) Company as Assistant Site Manager for Alexandria Waste Water Treatment Plant Project, Phase II. Full responsibility for site preparing and mobilizing works. I addition I was responsible for earthworks, piling, weak-drain installation and structure works for the main sedimentation tanks, pumping stations and equalization canal including the coordination between the

October 1999 to July 2000, ADECON as a Site Engineer for the construction of parametrical factory in Alexandria Full responsibility for the construction of the power plant building, social building and underground water tank including formwork, steel fixing and high performance of finishing and the coordination between the company and the main contractor in discussing quantities and invoice.
