• LiCEA (www.licea.eu)
The goal of LiCEA is to develop and apply SMART tools that allow the discovery of numerous
unexploited energy saving opportunities in regional industrial clusters along the supply chain of
SMEs.
• PPP4 Broadband (www.ppp4broadband.eu)
PPP4Broadband’s aim is to develop set of transnational tools, methodologies and guidelines using
PPP models for investment and operation of missing Broadband infrastructure.
• AutoNet (www.autonet-central.eu)
Aim of AutoNet project is to facilitate the development of the network of business supporting actors
leading automotive regions of Central Europe.
• Youth4Job (www.youth4job.eu)
The results of the project should be mainly the improvement of personal vocational orientation and
guidance services in Europe, with a stronger implication in terms of employment perspectives,
forecast and anticipation capacity.
• InoPlaCe (www.inoplace.eu)
Project overall objective is to improve framework conditions for innovation for the specific end
beneficiaries - Young Innovators. Young Innovators are targeted as one of key driven forces for
development of Knowledge based economy in regions and brining to regions high value of innovation

8. 1. Broadband Development
Quality infrastructure is the key element for the development
of the regions in order to attract investors, entrepreneurs and
also to improve the quality of life of citizens. Broadband is
such a kind of the infrastructure which has, especially in the
South East European rural areas, significant gaps in the
coverage, capacity and quality.
As private as well as a public sector alone cannot solve the
Broadband gap in the South East European rural areas, there is
the opportunity to establish successful cooperation between
Public and Private Partners. PPP4Broadband project
partnership aims to improve Broadband coverage in the South
East European rural areas by Public-Private Partnership.
AIEC is a lead partner of the PPP4Broadband that researches 9
PPP models tackling Basic, NGA and Ultra-fast broadband. In
each participating country there will be established
PPP4Broadband National Centre of Excellence with role to
provide knowledge, experience, guidance (using developed PPP
Models) and standardization. Network of PPP4Broadband
Centres of Excellence will be established in order to assure the
quality and availability of services also after the project
closure.

2. Energy Efficiency
To improve the European competitiveness, the reduction of
energy costs is a strategic point. Energy efficiency in the
industrial processes allows to obtain the reduction of primary
energy consumption, to the mitigation of greenhouse gas
emissions and to improve the strength on the market.
The 2006/32/EC highlights the role of the Member States to
ensure the availability of efficient energy audit schemes,
designed to identify potential energy efficiency measures,
applied to all end consumers, including Small and Medium
Enterprises (SMEs). But while several efforts have been made on
the front of standardization for building auditing and to energy
certification for building, the industrial audit for SMEs still
needs a specific scheme and tools. Involving partners from 5
European countries, LiCEA partnership aims to find results
useful for SMEs located in Central Europe territory.
Energy efficiency in SMES is going to be reached through so
called LiCEA project (Life Cycle based Energy Audit). The goal of
this project, where AIEC is one of 6 partners carrying out the
activity in Slovakia, is to develop and apply smart LiCEA tool
allowing the discovery of numerous unexploited energy saving
opportunities along the supply chain of SMEs.
