AGRIFORENERGY I+II Connecting demand & supply in bio-heating, pure vegetable oils, and biogas/bio-methane Reaching out:  3000+ potential suppliers & end-users involved, 85 workshops, 75 study tours, 160 meetings Driving markets:  50 new wood energy plants, 13 vegetable oil plants, 11 biogas plants, bio-methane for 1500 vehicles Building skills : 25 bioenergy contact points trained Protecting the environment: 30.000t of CO 2  savings per year Energy supply and services – a new perspective for farmers and foresters
Eurem.net 200 energy trainees, e-learning platform, EU certificate… During the project: trainees  identified and realised projects saving 80.000 MWh and € 4 million per year After the project: Additional projects (saving 300.000 MWh) and 200 new trainees (saving 600.000 MWh) each year www.energymanager.eu It works in Germany - and it can work in other countries too

How will this year’s budget be spent? €  65 million to support  “ promotion and dissemination projects ” (up to  75% of the eligible project costs) €  15 million to support “market replication projects” via the European Investment Bank €  9 million to purchase services (tenders)
Getting your project supported: How does it work? In response to the annual call, you can propose a project and apply for funding The EACI evaluates all proposals with the help of independent experts The best proposals are selected and invited to prepare and sign a grant agreement The project team carries out the project according to the agreed work plan The  EACI  monitors and supports the project, and helps spread its results
Who can apply for funding? Any public or private organisation established in the EU,  Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Croatia (check IEE website) International organisations Individuals cannot apply

Making a succesful application – the essence in short Strong competition:  be ambitious Start:  start early – a proposal needs time and evolution Project objective & target group:  well-defined? sufficiently focussed? EU added value? Indicators:  suitable to monitor success/problems? Value for money? Communication tools and channels:  sufficient resources and professional skills? Tailor-made for this project? Partners:  partners fit for purpose? Clear & justified role? Involved from the start of the proposal?
Budget:   cost-efficient and bottom-up? IEE budget rules respected? Co-financing :  be transparent and explain your co-financing scheme – don’t leave blank, don’t put the same for all partners… Transferability :  demonstrate that public money is well invested in your project – show how more users can take up your results!  ! AND:  Easy to read?:  Be clear, no jargon, evaluators have only 2-4 hours to assess
