The number of people who believe homosexuality is acceptable has gone up 10 percentage points since 1982 . . . 44 percent of the people surveyed

Today's culture seems to not be able to accept anything that is out of the norm. As a result, gaymarriage has been under constant backlash due to the

1.Introduction
Gay marriage has been in hot debate for a while now. What once was shunned in almost every culture and society is now creeping into our laws and
customs as normal and even acceptable due to the increase of radicals found in Anglo–Saxon societies such as the US and UK. Fueled by the recent
revolutions of women and interracial groups, homosexuals (a group less than 1 percent of the world's population), have finally taken a stand. Marriage
has been a union of opposite sexes for nearly 5000 years and now has come into such scrutiny that it has taken on the attention of the Supreme Court.
On April 28th, 2015, the Supreme Court began the case of Obergefell v. Hodge, the dispute which would settle the legalization of gay marriage in the
entire US. From such a case, the question arises: "Should gay marriage be legalized in the United States?" After analyzing the points on both sides of
the feud, I came to the clear conclusion that the answer was no, gay marriage should become and continue to be illegal in the United States.

at every moment it contributes to a strong and stable environment for the child to live in. For the most part homosexuals are frowned upon when

Examine the ways in which one religion uses scripture as a basis for its teachings about sexual behaviour (30 marks).
The Christian religion implements the use of scripture as the highest command for the way in which sexual ethics is implemented. Christian teaching
explores several issues in light of sexuality such as extra–marital and pre–marital sex, homosexuality and pro–creation and I will write about these in
this essay.
When looking at pre–marital sex, traditional Christian teachings of the bible suggest that sex is only for married couples and hetro–sexual couples. For
example, Timothy 5:2: 'As a Christian man, if you are not married to her, then she is your sister whom you must treat "with absolute purity." Similarly

Sexual involvement with non–Israelites was forbidden, as it would lead away from God, so adultery was forbidden. 'If a man commits adultery with
the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be stoned to death' Leviticus. This clearly states that adultery is a punishable act that
can result in being put to death. Women should be virgins onmarriage so that the man could be certain that the child was his, so that the children could
carry on the husband's name.
In the New Testament, Jesus challenges the view of the wife as the man's property. 'Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery
against her'. Jesus' teachings on adultery are all about the harming of relationships. 'Everyone who looks at another woman with his lust has already
committed adultery with her in his heart'. It's clear from this quote that Jesus strongly disagrees with a husband straying from his wife, and he should
be faithful and loyal to her. Matthew also held the same view of adultery 'If your right eyes causes you to sin then tear it out, it's better to lose a
member than for your whole body to be thrown in to hell'. However, Jesus did forgive the adulterous woman who was brought before him. 'Neither do
I condemn you. Go your way and do not sin again'. He claimed that our intentions are the most important thing.

Why not Australia? Australia is considered to be one of the most accepting country in the world. But why is homosexual marriage still illegal?
Australia has come along way in regards to accepting and acknowleding gay and lesbian relationships. Sodomy laws were part of Australian law, from

Many anti– gay people use the argument that if gay marriage was made legal, other changes such as allowing muliple wives, would have to be made.
However this is proven wrong, as seen in the countries who have already legalised gay marriage have not experience those reprecussions.

Numerous arguments have been presented against homosexuality, stating it is unnatural, degrades morals and is negatively influencing children. The
