GPTIICOS. Characterization for extended power Lindley distribution using relation between
probability density function and distribution function is obtained. Moreover recurrence relations of

Depression is a multitude of factors, there was no single cause. Several reasons for the Great
Depression were supply and demand, the banking system, wages of workers, success and failure of
business, government policy, excessive speculation in the stock market and the unequal distribution

There was still a major gap in income of the rich and middle class. The top 0.1% of Americans in
1929 had a combined income equal to the bottom 42% of Americans, while 80% of the people
had no savings at all (McElvaine 38). The average income for the farmer was only $273
compared to the average national income of $750 (McElvaine 21). By 1929 the productivity of
the American industry had risen 43 percent while the wages only increase 8 percent (McElvaine
39). The American worker had enjoyed the 1920s as an era that was filled with new inventions,
the radio, automobile, electric irons, and refrigerators were in every home. The average American
worker could not afford to buy these items, but they could if they made small weekly or monthly
payments. Convincing Americans to go against traditional values was difficult, but the advertising
industry convinced them they could (McElvaine 41). The average worker in America was living in
poverty, making about $24.76 a week. Most Americans did not have much money to loose when the
stock market crashed; they had no savings and no investments. The people who lost the most were
the wealthy investors (McElvaine 17).

A Deeper Look: Stars, skeletons, and shadows are objects that may initially seem common and
insignificant to the plot of a novel. However, authors sometimes have a purpose behind simple
objects like these, events that occur, and/or the types of characters that are developed. When an
author utilizes a recurrent symbol, character, or situation that is an instinctual expression of man s
nature and experiences that are universal, the author is incorporating archetypes. In the novel

With this understanding, the reader is more likely to be able to relate to Charlie s adolescent
transformation or make connections with other young adult novels. The season of winter is a
prominent archetype in as well. Winter often accompanies dark, dreary, and somber times. In
the novel, Charlie hits his ultimate low point in his battle with depression in the middle of
winter. He felt that he was alone and had absolutely no one to turn to. One night shortly after
New Year s, Charlie found himself both mentally and physically lost. Suffocated by heavy
thoughts, he wandered outside and laid in the snow, only for a policeman to find him pale blue
and asleep the next day, and he didn t stop shivering from the cold until a long time after [his]
mom and dad drove [him] home from the emergency room, (Chbosky 98). The cold, snowy
winter can be viewed as an archetype that affects how the reader perceives this point in Charlie s

Killing lizards
All children search for attention, love and acceptance through their childhood. If a child doesn t
receive attention, love and acceptance, in which way can they find the trust to be themselves? They
will be stuck in an uncertain world, where they have no trust in themselves and difficult to evolve
their identity.
In the short story, killing lizards, the main charachter is the 12 year old English boy, Gavin. Gavin
s family moved to Africa to years before the story takes place. Gavin seems to be like any other
common boy, but the reality is something else. Gavin misses attention from his mother, and wishes
that she could pay more attention to him. He is especially jealous of his sister Amanda because he
believes that she grabs all the attention from their mother. That is very clear in this quote. (Page 3,

and his mother, which is evidently seen in the way he wants people to think of them in his

Some of my classmates were starting to work. I was stopped with my paper and pencil. The
professor didn t recognize the classrooms were made up of different learning styles. I am a visual
learner, and I have trouble remembering verbal instruction. I am straggling to remember verbal

Compare And Contrast Confucianism And Legalism
Philosophies Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism were the three main philosophies in ancient
China for a form of government. I state that Daoism is the most effective form of government
because it is based around balance: balance in nature and opposites of the universe. Daoism has
the highest number of followers at around 20 million people among the three philosophies.
Daoism is concerned with helping people live in harmony with their self. Legalism was very
different from both Confucianism and Daoism because Legalism was the belief that people
needed to be controlled because they were evil. Legalism is found in China and was founded by
Han Feize. While it is unknown when Legalism was established, it is known that Han Feize was
born in 280 B.C. so that gives a general time when legalism started. Legalism didn t deal with
much religious concerns but was more of a political philosophy instead. Citizens were seen to be
responsible for actions of one another. A person who is considered guilty, their relatives and
neighbors should be punished as well. This was a way to make sure that the laws are followed.
The laws are strict with harsh punishments. People who spy on others and report anything that they
do wrong to the authorities are thought to be doing right of the law. Both Legalism and
Confucianism are belief systems within a group of people, not religions, and both are intended to
lead to an orderly way of life, how they approach their teachings are complete opposed.
