WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING?
 Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-
based marketing and a technique where
other publishers and websites will promote
your business. Basically the way it works is
that an affiliate is rewarded every time a
visitor, customer or sale for your business is
generated through an advertisement on their
web site.
CHAIN OF AFFILIATE MARKETING
 Advertiser
An advertiser can be a company selling a product like electronics,
airline tickets, clothing or car parts, or an advertiser could also be
an insurance company selling policies.
 Publisher
A publisher is an individual or company that promotes an
advertiser’s product or service in exchange for earning a
commission.
 Consumer
Who consume the goods & services.

 Product and Price Comparison Engines –
Comparison engine publisher aid users to
quickly find a certain product at the best
price. Most comparison engines cover a
large variety of categories where as some
are designed specifically around one product
type or group, i.e. electronics, credit cards,
loans etc.

 CPA- Cost Per Acquisition
 CPC- Cost Per Click
 CPS- Cost Per Sale
 CPV- Cost Per View
 CPL- Cost Per Lead
CTR
 Click-through rate- CTR is a way of
measuring the success of an online
advertising campaign. A CTR is a percentage
obtained by dividing the number of users
who clicked on an ad on a web page by the
number of times the ad was delivered
(impressions).
CPA
 CPA (Cost Per Action) or (Cost Per
Acquisition) -: advertising is performance
based and is common in the affiliate
marketing sector of the business. In this
payment scheme, the Publisher takes all the
risk of running the ad, and the >Advertiser
pays only for the amount of users who
complete a transaction, such as a purchase
or sign-up.
CPC
 CPC (Cost Per Click)- is a payment option
that compensates a publisher whenever their
referred customers click on a link for an
advertisers offer. CPC is also an Internet-
marketing formula used to price banner ads.
Some advertisers will pay publishers based
on the number of clicks a banner gets.
CPS
 Pay-per-sale or PPS (sometimes referred to
as cost-per-sale or CPS) is an online
advertisement pricing system where the
publisher or website owner is paid on the
basis of the number of sales that are directly
generated by an advertisement.
CPV
 Cost-Per-View- CPV is a method of charging
for video advertisements based on the
number of views or interactions an ad
receives.
CPL
 CPL defines how much revenue a publisher
receives when he creates a lead for an
advertiser.
