• Take 50g of soil in a funnel and pour
it on the filter paper.
• Now take some water in a
measuring cylinder (U = 100ml).
• Pour it drop by drop all over the soil.

movement through the soil.
 Percolation rate of water in the soil is the speed at
which the water moves through the soil.

• Take a pipe of diameter 20 cm and insert into the
soil.
• Take water of 200 ml in a beaker.
• Start the timer and start to pour the water into the
pipe.
• Stop the timer when the water is completely
absorbed by the soil.
