The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) medical center uses an outdated ICD-9 coding system with only two employees storing information in paper and Excel. To modernize, ADNOC should transition to ICD-10, develop a new electronic coding system, hire more coders, and store data digitally rather than on paper. This will help the largest energy company in the UAE keep up with current medical coding standards.
