3.  The pancreas is a large gland
behind the stomach
 Has two major functions
i. To secrete powerful digestive
enzymes into the small
intestine to aid the digestion
of
carbohydrates, proteins, and
fat.
ii. To release the hormones
insulin and glucagon into the
bloodstream. These
hormones are involved in
blood glucose
metabolism, regulating how
the body stores and uses
food for energy.

4. When enzymes somehow become active inside the
pancreas, they eat the tissue of the pancreas. This
causes swelling, bleeding, and damage to the
pancreas and its blood vessels.

5.  If you are a guy and a heavy drinker then
yes. You can definitely get this disease.
 If you’re a woman and have gallstones
then you’re in luck as well.
 Most likely to occur in age of retirement.
