This document outlines the technology action plan for Evant High School. It identifies needs based on interviews and reports, including a need for increased educator preparation and development to keep pace with growing infrastructure. Specifically, it notes a lack of online professional development and technical support. The action plan involves teachers and students completing technology surveys to identify needs and trends. Staff will then develop objectives to integrate technology into classrooms based on survey results and identify areas to target. The professional development activities and their evaluation are also outlined.

1. Evant High School Technology Action Plan
Resources
•Campus Improvement Plan
•Long-Range Plan for Technology
•STaR Chart
•AEIS report
•District Superintendent interview
•Campus principal interview
•SBDM committee member interview
Identified Need: Educator Preparation and Development
•The Campus STaR Chart demonstrated increasing growth in educator preparation and
development, but the growth has not been commensurate with the growth in other areas.
•For instance, the area of Technology Infrastructure has shown rapid growth as the campus
has gained hardware and increased capabilities through grant participation and selling ADA to
larger districts, which designated the funds for technology.
•In most recent years, professional development experiences increased, but still has not kept
pace with the other areas.
•Approximately 70% of the faculty met SBEC Technology standards, and 25% of the
technology budget is used for professional development.
Online Learning and Professional development for Online Learning.
•There had been some online collaborative courses a few years ago as part of a grant
requirement, but none since that time.
•Considering the lack of readily available staff development sources, this seems to be the
most untapped resource with the most potential.
Classroom Technology and Technical Support
•As the availability of technology increases, so does the need for technical support.
•Currently, there is only one source of technical assistance, and that staff member teaches
several classes as well.
•Additional support is available, but it is usually a wait of several days.
•Professional development that would increase staff capabilities for technical support would
2. increase availability of technology for all students and staff.
