This document outlines the principles and techniques of Availability Centered Maintenance (ACM) which aims to make engineered systems anti-fragile by modulating their behavior to optimize availability of time and resources. ACM combines breakdown, preventative, and condition-based maintenance strategies. It can reduce failures by 99% and maximize uptime by understanding system oscillations, wear, and flows based on history and patterns. Case studies show how ACM achieved zero failures for several companies. The document concludes by promoting a workshop to dynamically plan for applying ACM principles like observations, questioning, and creativity to achieve failure-free, anti-fragile systems.
