The ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners) is the world's largest anti-fraud organization, based in Austin, Texas, focusing on education and training against fraud. It identifies three primary types of fraud: corruption, which involves dishonest behavior by those in power; asset misappropriation, the most common fraud type, involving theft and misuse of company assets; and financial statement fraud, which is the deliberate manipulation of financial data to mislead stakeholders. For more detailed information on the ACFE fraud tree, a link is provided for further exploration.
