Collaboration and Productivity with Microsoft SharePointEdgewater
Ori Fishler, Web Solutions Practice Director at Edgewater Technology, was invited to speak at the Delta Dental CFO Conference on April 26th on Marco Island, FL. Ori presented the collaboration benefits of SharePoint 2010, specifically how a collaborative platform like SharePoint:
- streamlines finance and accounting processes
- improves the productivity of the underwriting department
Leveraging Technology in Collaborative Work - FoundationsStephen Judd
Modern knowledge work, such as that done by Extension professionals, often calls for collaborative efforts to address complex issues from a variety of angles. Using technology to facilitate collaboration can allow teams to span geographical boundaries, work at different times, easily share information, foster frequent interaction, expand the team’s expertise, and reduce costs. However, collaboration within virtual spaces is different than traditional face-to-face work and requires consideration of a variety of factors: comfort with and access to the technology, leadership and coordination of the team, scheduling across time zones and institutions, etc.
In this webinar we will highlight published research about technology-facilitated collaboration and discuss its benefits, challenges, and factors that contribute to success. This foundational webinar will set the stage for subsequent webinars that will address specific tools and techniques that can be used to foster the success of collaborative work using technology.
So you think collaboration tools might be valuable for your company but you just aren't sure how they can be used effectively? This short presentation is meant to introduce you to how Collaboration 2.0 tools can be used to effectively address real world business problems...and how you can identify these needs within your company.
Encouraging and Facilitating Collaboration at WorkMichael Sampson
The slides from my keynote presentation at Congres Intranet 2012 in Utrecht, in March 2012. I talked about the reality of the intranet, the nature of collaboration, and how to encourage and facilitate collaboration at work by overcoming barriers to collaboration.
This section addresses some of the social dilemmas that currently affect humanity on a global scale. We will see how game theory has provided tools to study them scientifically, and how cooperation theory is looking for a way out of them.
Cooperation theory research and proposals are grouped into three major areas: strategic, institutional and motivational.
We also review some global dilemmas to understand their inner dynamics, what would have to be done to correct them, and what obstacles there are to achieving this.
Social tools are now being offered by a number of collaboration vendors. Many organizations are unsure of how to integrate social tools with existing team workflows. Managers must embrace, rather than hinder, integration of social collaboration tools. This storyboard, along with its accompanying tools, will help you:
* Understand social collaboration and how it builds team effectiveness.
* Develop a strategy for enabling social collaboration patterns with technology.
* Understand the major vendors and feature sets for social tools.
* Foster a culture that encourages the use of social collaboration tools.
Managers must recognize that social tools are powerful enablers of knowledge-sharing and productivity in the age of the team.
What is collaboration? Here I present both a definition of collaboration and a model for how to think about collaboration. This gives us a framework for how to improve the way we collaborate.
For many years, organizations that have been recognized as best places to work have received that recognition because they have cultures that create the conditions for people to thrive personally and professionally. Cultures in organizations that are good places to work develop environments in which people work together in support of the mission and vision.
The Three Speeds are a simple and effective model to think about collaboration strategy, adoption and tool selection for companies.

The Democratization of Learning and DevelopmentDavid Blake
The future of learning and development (L&D) is already here. This new reality includes workers and their managers sharing more of the responsibility than you might be used to. That doesn’t mean your L&D organization, practices, and tools are obsolete—they still play an important role. But they do need to evolve. These days, the most successful chief learning officers do more than just supply learning. They also enable their workers to take learning into their own hands.
In this webinar, Cushing Anderson, IDC’s IT Education and Certification Research Program Vice President, and the author of our recent report, will help organizations understand how to strategically align learning programs with organizational goals to impact the business. Cushing will walk attendees through the metrics that learning can impact, the levers to maximize impact, and the outcome of a successful framework. Alongside our President of Udemy for Business Darren Shimkus, Cushing will dive into:
- How to link learning initiatives to strategic issues
- How to create a framework that maximizes the impact of learning, through intention, relevance, - consumption and reinforcement
- The types of value that can be witnessed through learning, including time savings, increased productivity, and faster onboarding
- How the L&D team at Udemy for Business maximizes learning impact across the organization
More than 100 HR developers took part in the L&D Trend Survey 2023. Their opinions on the current state of the industry have been evaluated and summarized in a detailed Trend Report.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.
