James Fennimore s Last Of The Mohicans
The book last of Mohicans is a really good novel that gives a lot of action, romanticism and
suspense, really gets the reader going. James Fennimore cooper really gave a historical background
writing the novel last of the Mohicans. The novel represents the Mohicans (Mahican) and the parts
of the history. James Fennimore cooper really had an accurate noveland an outstanding point of
view. The Mohican tribe was really interesting and they originally came from the banks of the
Hudson River, where it is now New York State. They also lived in many other places but
unfortunately the Europeans came and killed many Mohicans. The surviving Mohicans had to
move to the west. Later on the Mohicans moved to Stockbridge where they live today. The
Mohican children lived like any other child they did there chores went to school and played
games but there was a bit difference in today s children then in the Mohicans back then. The
Mohicans children used to do more chores then they would play but what was really interesting is
how they played the games, they were given miniature arrows where they would hunt for small
animals and would often play ball games similar to soccer but a bit different, instead of using your
feet you would use a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women had to stay home farm take care of their children. Back then the men were the chefs
of the tribe where women were not allowed to become higher ranks than men, but in today s
generation there could be a Mohican politician. The men and women had many roles in the
society women were more of a stay home mom where the man had to go and hunt to provide for
their families. The women had to clean the house, farm the land and provide vegetation s in their
lifestyle which helped the family. The men had to go out and hunt to bring food also had to go to

Ten Good And Bad Things About My Life
Ten Good and Bad things about my Life (so far) Ten Good and Bad Things about my Life (so
far), by Ann M. Martin, is about a fifth grade girl who has a report she has to write about her
summer. Pearl Littlefield is a young girl who just entered the fifth grade and on the very first day
she is having trouble with an assignment. Pearl flashes back to the end of fourth grade recalling
how she would have a wonderful summer. Yet, Pearl s summer is not all peachy as she thought.
Pearl encounters a few difficulties to get through and realizes that whenever one door closes another
door opens.
In the beginning Pearl is living with her mother, father, thirteen year old sister Lexie, and Bitey the

Camp Merrimac was a day camp that was for the arts. Nonetheless, it also had normal camp
activities like canoeing. Pearl s summer was off to a rough start but it was starting to get better.
Pearl went to Camp Merrimac with Lexie, JBIII, and her old best friend who moved Justine.
Lexie was Pearl s CIT also known as counselor in training. Pearl s troop name was The Starletts.
JBIII s troop name was The Dudes. Unfortunately, Pearl had Jill DiNunzio, her arch enemy in her
group. Pearl s door was opening again for Camp Merrimac. However it was closing again. At Camp
Merrimac they always take the kids to Waterworks. Waterworks is a super fun water park, but it
turns into Pearl s worst part of the summer yet. Pearl has been to Waterworks before so she was
kind of like JBIII s tour guide since this was his first year. Pearl was telling JBIII what to do and
she was kind of like his owner and he was the dog. JBIII got mad and since they were in groups
he and another Dude switched. Pearl was stuck with a bossy, know it all and didn t have much fun
at the waterpark. Pearl s and JBIII s fight continued at the Garlic festival that the camp also takes
them to. Pearl was going to apologize when they got back from the Garlic Festival but landed
JBIII in the hospital. Pearl was running up to JBIII while he was standing on the edge of the dock
and was going to apologize but she knocked him elbow first on the dock and broke his elbow. Pearl
ended up not apologizing to him for he was already being whisked away by EMS. Camp
Merrimac ended that day and Pearl was upset not just that camp had ended but that she had broken
her best friend s arm. Pearl s door closed but was opening once

Ops 571 Statistical Process Control
Chase, Jacobs and Aquilano pose questions such as, How many paint defects are there in the
finish of a car? [and] Have we improved our painting process by installing a new sprayer? These
questions are meant to investigate and apply different techniques that we can use to improve the
quality of life. Qualitycontrol not only applies to manufacturing techniques, it can also be applied
to everyday life. This discussion will focus on a specific method of quality control called statistical
process control that will ensure my morning process is effective.
One method of quality control can be pursued through process control procedures like statistical
process control or SPC. SPC involves testing a random sample of output from a process to ... Show

LCL = .08333 в€’ 3(.05050) = .06817
In the control chart, the data from the sample stays in between the controls. This means that my
process in the morning is working properly and is effective. Now, it is important to look to the
future trends in order to predict seasonal factors. A seasonal factor is the amount of correction
needed in a time series to adjust for the season of the year. (Chase, Jacobs amp; Anquilano, 533)
Seasonal factors may affect the samples by taking into consideration factor based on seasons or
time periods. The alarm clock that is used to wake me up in the morning is not dependent on any
factors of time or season.
Statistical process control is one way to control quality and make sure goals are attained. Statistical
methods show that the samples taken can create visual representations that conclude my alarm
clock is an effective method to starting my morning process. This ensures that it is operating at its
fullest potential.

Essay On Advantages And Disadvantages Of Thailand
3.1.3 More advantages of Thailand
According to our research, we think that Thailand can provide a huge clean energy market for our
company mainly from four aspects:
1)Relations between Thailand and Philippines:
The bilateral relations between Thailand and Philippines will continue to be strengthened through
talks and agreements on economic, trades and security. (The Philstar, 2012). Johanna (2012)
reported that the previous JCBC had led to an agreement between Thailand and Philippines
governments to set up energy forums and cooperation on education.
2)Government policy:
lThe Energy Ministry will propose a promotion strategy on biomass energy production to the
National Energy Policy Committee, said Secretary for Energy, Areepong Bhoocha Oom. (Thailand
News, 2015)
lThailand strongly encourages overseas clean energy company to develop here. Therefore, the
government provides some policy incentives to relax the ownership restrictions under the Foreign
Business Law. (Investment Climate Statement Thailand, 2012)

northeastern area. Wilcox (2012) showed that solar power in Thailand was targeted to reach 95
MW by 2016 and 500 MW by 2022. Therefore, we plan to expand solar energy market for further
development in Thailand.
4.2 Win Win situation
Because China ASEAN Investment Cooperation Fund (CAF) has recently signed the definitive
documents with National Power Supply Public Co. Ltd (NPS), we can get closer to China through
cooperating with NPS. Thus, it is a win win opportunity that not only allows us to help NPS to
improve production and make more profits, but also to build a friendly relationship with China and
obtain the investment from CAF in the future.

Summary Of D Evelopment Of Ho Opili
D evelopment of Ho opili
When I drive by a new house being advertised for a sale or search for homes on Zillow, I can t
help but to wonder about the day I get to buy my own home. But, then I look at the price, and
suddenly that dream just crash and burns. In Hawaii you have to make a fortune just to live
comfortably here. With the high cost of living, it doesn t make able to own a home easier. Many
locals on the islands are looking else where to buy homes because it s just that hard. But there
could be a solution to that problem, simply to use our land to build more homes. Ho opili a new
city that will be built on farmlands on the Ewa plains will offer more reasonable prices for homes
and more businesses. The development of Ho opili will better the economy and provide affordable
housing for Hawaii residents.
Why is Ho opili beneficial to our economy you might think? Ho opili will be a new city that will
consist of affordable housing to Hawaii s residents. Here on the islands we are suffering from high
cost of living and an even higher housing market. On USA Today s Most Expensive states to live
in, Hawaii ranks number one in the cost of living index and Housing index. To be able to live
comfortably in Hawaii you would have to make about $122,000 a year. The average home value in
Hawaii is around $520,000, and that s about $420 per square foot. So you will have to pay a hefty
price to even afford a home here in paradise. Here in Hawaii, a lot of people chose to rent

The next Harlequin image is again inverted and can be seen to the right of the previous
Harlequin. He is identifiable from his patchwork costume and triangular hat and appears to be
kneeling on the ground as if watching the puppet show taking place opposite. Death: The
preoccupying theme of Guernica is of course death; reinforcing this, in the centre of the painting
is a hidden skull which dominates the viewer s subliminal impressions. The skull is shown
sideways and has been ingeniously overlaid onto the body of the horse, which is also a death
symbol. The skull s mechanical appearance seems appropriate to the modern weaponry used in
the 1937 bombing. Picasso often hid one or more related symbols within a particular image as
seen here. Below the dying horse in the centre of the painting is a concealed bull s head
contained in the outline of the horse s buckled front leg. Its location infers that that it is plunging
its horns into the horse s belly from below... the goring of the horse in the bullfight was a

Military Of The Byzantine Empire Essay
Military and Weaponry of the Byzantine Empire In the year 330 A.D., a new capital of Rome
under the command of Emperor Constantine I would be founded. It would become a dominant
power that would conquer and progress for the next nine centuries, and according to the author
Frederic Harrison, it would remain a solid unit in which its foundation would rarely be broken
(Harrison, 7). Emperor Constantine would choose to position the new capitol between the areas of
Europe and Asia Minor, located on a narrow water passage that would stretch from the Black Sea to
the Mediterranean. According to an article I found dedicated to the Militaryof The Byzantines, it
stated that this new capitol known as Constantinoplewould become one of the most tremendous
cities but would also become home to one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever known,
The Byzantine Empire( Military of the Byzantines , 2015). As the Byzantine Empire began its
expansion, it would take control of multiple countries along the way such as Italy, Greece, Egypt
and several more. To take control of these once dominating regions of the world it would take an

It came to be that one of the main weapons of the Byzantine military was that of spying on their
enemies and gathering extremely specific and precise information on their movement and
whereabouts. This became such an important factor to them that there was a dedicated part of the
emperors administration solely devoted to gathering information on the enemy and relaying it to
the forces out in the field ( Military of the Byzantines , 2015). The Byzantine army was by no
means one of few weapons as they used not only physical objects to dominate opponents but they
also used speed, efficiency and most undoubtedly their minds to out think and out smart any enemy

International Business Project: The Czech Republic
Introduction
The Czech Republic is a small, landlocked country located in Central Europe, southeast of Germany,
bordered by Austria, Germany, Poland, and Slovakia. Slightly smaller than South Carolina, the
Czech Republic covers 78.866 square kilometers (sq km): 77,276 sq km of land and 1,590 sq km of
water.
Following the First World War, the closely related Czechs and Slovaks of the former Austro
Hungarian Empire merged cultures to form Czechoslovakia. During the interwar years, the country

The Czech Republic became a member of the European Union (EU) on May 1, 2004. Through the
course of the accession process, most barriers to trade in industrial goods with the EU have been
eliminated. The process of accession had a positive impact on reform in the Czech Republic, and
implementation of EU directives and regulations continues. The U.S. Department of Commerce
Country Commercial Guide for the Czech Republic summarizes the economic trends and outlook
this way:
The principal industries are motor vehicles, machine building, iron and steel production,
metalworking, chemicals, electronics, transportation equipment, textiles, glass, brewing, china,
ceramics, and pharmaceuticals. The main agricultural products are sugar beets, fodder roots,
potatoes, wheat, and hops. As a small, open economy in the heart of Europe, economic growth is
strongly influenced by demand for Czech exports and flows of foreign direct investment.
Heavy industry received major economic support during the 1950s, but central planning resulted in
waste and inefficient use of industrial resources. Although the labor force was traditionally skilled
and efficient, inadequate incentives for labor and management contributed to high labor turnover,
low productivity, and poor product quality.

Tips On Online Casino Bonus
Blog 29 How to stretch your online casino bonus
While it seems like there are countless welcome bonus and sign up offers available to players,
once one is claimed at an online casino that s it. At each online casino you register at you get one
welcome bonus and no more. That means that when an online casino bonus lands in your account
the key is to making last as long as possible. While this seems easy enough, it tends to be tougher
than most people realise. If you really want to see your online casino bonus last longer than five
minutes, I suggest you pay close attention to the following.
Tip No. 1 Don t grab the very first bonus you see
Part of the task of extending an online casino bonus as far as it can go actually begins with
registering for the right online casino bonus in the first place. The temptation is often to grab the
first bonus that you see, but seldom is that ever a good idea. You will want to look at online casino
portal before you do anything and find a casino bonus that is at least somewhat favourable towards
the player. Be patient, do you research, and find an online casino bonus that has extension potential.
Tip No. 2 Keep your bankroll under control
If you honestly believe that all you need to make it in the world of online casino gaming is an
online casino bonus you need to think again. Untold riches aren t going to land at your feet with
this approach and you will more than likely see that online casino bonus reduced to dust in a matter

Biological And Trait Perspectives On The Human Personality
Biological and Trait Perspectives and Explanations of Neuroticism Two perspectives on the
human personality will be explained in the following two sections. The first perspective is the
biological perspective of personality. This perspective focuses largely on the internal genetic
makeup of an individual and the effects this has on his or her personality. The biological
perspective is strongly based on other scientific fields in laboratory or clinical conditions such as
biology and biochemistry. The biological perspective involves intricate and often time consuming
scientific experiments to test for personality traits and correlations. Evolution is sometimes also
mentioned within the biological perspective in sociobiology. The structure and function of the
brain (neurobiology) is also central to the biological theory of personality. The second perspective
to be mentioned is the trait perspective of personality. According to Costa and McCrae,
examination of the trait theory of personality is required for someone to make sense of the human
personality (1998). Two ideas are central to the trait perspective of personality: A person s
behaviors, contemplations, and emotions are relatively stable in varying situations and with time,
and each individual personality is different from all other personalities (Carver Sheier, 2012). The
trait perspective asserts that personalities are made up of various traits that vary in degrees of
strength. These traits are exemplified on a

Connotation In Regina Barreca s Nighttime Fires And Elders
The poems Nighttime Fires and Seniors both deal with memories of their authors experiences as
youth. In Nighttime Fires , Regina Barreca talks about how after her father lost his job, he
developed an unhealthy obsession with watching houses burn, and she discusses how he involved
his family in this somewhat insalubrious fixation. Similarly, in Seniors , Alberto Rios discusses
several events that had an impact on him and the word choices he uses relays that he still While
Barreca implies in her poem that she learned from what her father did and moved on, Rios

The use of dynamic language is apparent in both poems. In Nighttime Fires , Barreca chose to use
words that have a strong negative connotation and allude to conflict. The title itself carries no
conflict, and just from reading the title, the reader could presuppose that the poem is simply
discussing something positive such as a sitting around a campfire or fireplace. However, as she
starts the poem, she uses words that that display both the excitement she felt, as well as the
frustration that her father was experiencing after losing his job. At first, she uses dynamic words
and phrases such as piled / running noses / drove fast and later on, festival and carnival these
words seem to denote the excitement that Barreca felt as a child. Yet, while she felt excited, she
can now see the conflict and frustration that her father was experiencing and proceeds to utilize
more negative language to express this frustration. She describes how her father would be awake
past midnight , read old newspapers with no news , and split the pencil between his teeth, mad .
These dynamic phrases and words carry heavy connotations and, in literature, would usually only be
applied to moments of conflict or frustration. Alberto Rios also uses dynamic language in

Social Service Agency At Greater Boston Legal Service
This tedtalk by Rebecca Onie was informative. The kind of organization that she mention in her
presentation was a social agency or social service agency at the housing unit at Greater Boston
legal Service that Rebecca was interning. According to Karen and Kirst Ashman (2011), Social
services may be institutional, that is, those provided by major public service systems that
administer such benefits as financial assistance, housing programs, health care, or education
(Karen and Kirst Ashman, 2011, p.137). Here Rebecca got the chance to work low income
families in Boston who came in with housing issues but at the same time had other health issues
too and this is when it is called personal social service according to Karen and Kirst Ashman

relationships and people s ability to function within their immediate environment (Karen and Kirst
Ashman, 2011, p.137). Most of the time when this people come in with their issue for example
housing issue, they also have another issue which might be lack of food and when people lack
proper nutrition, they are bound to get sick or have other issues that is wrong with them. The
theory that it is based upon is Ecosystem Theories. According Karen and Kirst Ashman (2011), the

Theme Of Feminism In Oleanna
Oleanna is undoubtedly a controversial play. Due to a lack of background information and a
plethora of ambiguousness, the characters and situation can be read in numerous different ways.
The strongest rhetoric in Oleanna seems to align with anti feminists. Anti feminists may see the
play as vindication for their prejudices and stereotypes against women. It seems that this play could
cause more grief and misunderstandings between two groups that have been rife with troubles for
ages. During the first reading of this screenplay, there are many clear anti feminist messages. Later

Organic Chemistry Of Chemical Reactions
Organic Chemistry
Organic chemistry is the chemistry of carbon compounds. It deals with the structure, properties and
reactions of compounds that contain carbon and includes those from nature as well as synthetic
compounds. Organic chemistry, often termed as the chemistry of design , allows new molecules to
be created such as in the manufacture of plastics, polymers, fuels, soaps, detergents, drugs and
medicines. These, if carefully designed, have important properties for the improvement of mankind.
One such example of manipulating organic compounds through chemical reactions is the
development of Aspirin and later, other associated analgesics or non steroidal anti inflammatory
drugs.

She had to save every hard earned dime she could toward her house, her place, with her name on

her family no matter what; literally, she left Jamaica and her family to make a better living for
them. This also shows her selfless attitude, her willingness to go without just to see her family
prevail; this establishes credibility with the reader considering they think Millie is not truthful
in her plans. Another example takes place between Millie and the church, they want one tenth of
Millie s earnings, but she tells them that money is all she has to live on, and God has spoken to
her in a dream; Millicent, you are a hard working girl. Follow me. Follow the light to your new

Main Differences Between The Manufacturing Sector And The...
In the business world, there are two major sectors; the manufacturing sector and the service sector.
While they both deeply affect a society s standard of living, there are five main differences between
the two. According to The Business Dictionary, (http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition
/manufacturing sector.html), the definition of manufacturing sector are industries that are involved
in chemical, mechanical or physical conversion of substances, ingredients, or components into
consumer or industrial goods. The service sector any job or industry that produces intangible value

However, a manufacturing firm does not need to employ many people because most manufacturing
organizations can automate their production processes to reduce their labor requirements. The fifth
mentioned difference is location, service firms do not require a physical production site allowing
them to be located anywhere, an example would be Amazon, which spent most of it s forming years
without a standing office due to their ability to operate solely through the internet. Manufacturers
on the other hand must have a physical location for the production and stock holding operations.
These differences create a difference in their respective accounting books as based on reviewing
different companies in both sectors, companies in the manufacturing sector usually had much larger
assets and overall higher numbers in the four major financial statements. Reviewing specifically the
cases of Wal Mart and Marriott International, the international hotel chain, the tables below provide
the differences between the accounting practices and trends of the two sectors. Values in

Essay on Black Holes
Black Holes Every day we look out upon the night sky, wondering and dreaming of what lies
beyond our planet. The universe that we live in is so diverse and unique, and it interests us to learn
about all the variance that lies beyond our grasp. Within this marvel of wonders, our universe holds
a mystery that is very difficult to understand because of the complicationsthat arise when trying to
examine and explore the principles of space. That mystery happens to be that of the ever elusive,
black hole.
This essay will hopefully give you the knowledge and understanding of the concepts, properties,
and processes involved with the space phenomenon of the black hole. It will describe how a black
hole is generally formed, how it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What this means is that it is impossible to use the laws of physics to predict the structure of the
region after the Cauchy horizon. This breakdown of predictability has led physicists to hypothesize
that a singularity should form at the Cauchy horizon, forcing the evolution of the interior to stop at
the Cauchy horizon, rendering the idea of a region after it meaningless.
Recently this hypothesis was tested in a simple black hole model. A spherically symmetric black
hole with a point electric charge has the same essential features as a rotating black hole. It was
shown in the spherical model that the Cauchy horizon does develop a scalar curvature singularity. It
was also found that the mass of the black hole measured near the Cauchy horizon diverges
exponentially as the Cauchy horizon is approached. This led to this phenomena being dubbed mass
inflation.
In order to understand what exactly a black hole is, we must first take a look at the basis for the
cause of a black hole. All black holes are formed from the gravitational collapse of a star, usually
having a great, massive, core. A star is created when huge, gigantic, gas clouds bind together due
to attractive forces and form a hot core, combined from all the energy of the two gas clouds. This
energy produced is so great when it first collides, that a nuclear reaction occurs and the gases within
the star start to burn continuously. The hydrogen gas is

Raisin In The Sun Stereotypes
A Raisin in the Sun was written by Lorraine Hansberry. Lorraine was born in Chicago, Illinois
where both of her parents were active in the black community. When young, she had big time
social injustice names like Jesse Owens and Duke Ellington come to her house. Her parents
contributed large sums of money to the NAACP and the Urban League. Lorraine and her family
moved to a white neighborhood in Chicago and was attacked by the neighbors. Although they were
attacked, the Hansberry family stayed until the court ordered them to leave. This case made it to
the Supreme Court as Hansberry vs Lee, ruling restrictive covenants illegal. Lorraine attended the
University of Wisconsin in Madison. She broke the family tradition of going to a black college....

First time the majority of the cast was African American. The thing that makes this piece so
special is the decade in which she wrote and this play. In the 1950s, it was portrayed as a good
time for economy and blacks where content with their inferior status. This play was a
revolutionary work for this time in the 1950s. Most plays didn t depict what an actual black
family goes through on American Stage. African American roles before this play would be
small, comedic roles and ethnic stereotypes. Hansberry shows a black family in the light of
reality where it was comedic, it was real life struggles. There were issues throughout the play
brought up such as poverty, discrimination, and the constitution of African American racial
identity. This play shows the real life tensions between the black and white societies. Not only is
Hansberry talking about blacks in American but she has issues of Africans anticolonial struggles
as well. Another risky topic Hansberry shared in the play was feminism. The character Beneatha
showed that women could have ambitious dreams and goals as well. Women didn t have to
depend on marriage and just become a housewife, they could work hard for themselves. Even the
topic of abortion was addressed even though it was illegal in this error. Hansberry main point of
the play was to focus on dreams. Every main character in the play had their own dream.
Materialistic dreams created problems in the family and happiness. Hansberry focus was to do

When you have two immensely popular racing circuits as diverse as NASCAR and Formula One,
there is no doubt that you will see differences of opinion between fans as to which is the better

monotonous and dull, while others may argue that Formula One s tracls aren t spectator friendly at

Other than the tracks both follow a completely different style of racing. NASCAR may seem
intense, but it is entirely artificial. Restrictor plates are used to limit speeds to keep the pack
tightly bunched. Cautions are also thrown simply to close the field up again and give the drivers
the chance to pass. The championship system is rigged to keep interest in the title alive till the
end of the season. The chase for the championship runs over the last few races of the season and
allows only the top ten drivers before the start of the chase with a chance to challenge for the
title. It s entertaining but it greatly degrades the sporting purity of the contest. Essentially it
really easy to mock the sporting value of NASCAR. The endless change of positions, and the
knowledge that only the final laps can decide the outcome of an event make the long races
incredibly dull. That being said Formula One follows an entirely different elimination system
starting off with 3 periods allowing the 10 fastest cars according to the best time and laps to
qualify for the final round. The top driver will acquire 25 pts and the total pts at the end of the
last leg will decide who is declared World Champion. Also from time to time the winning driver
and team will vary according to the team s points. Only those who finish a minimum of 90% of the
total stretch that the winner has run will

Dramatic Irony in Hamlet Essay
Dramatic irony in the Shakespearean tragedy Hamlet has long been the subject matter of literary
critical reviews. This essay will exemplify and elaborate on the irony in the play.
David Bevington in the Introduction to Twentieth Century Interpretations of Hamlet identifies one
of the richest sources of dramatic irony in Hamlet:
Well may the dying Hamlet urge his friend Horatioto report me and my cause aright To the
unsatisfied, for no one save Horatio has caught more than a glimpse of Hamlet s true situation. We

George Lyman Kittredge, in his book, Five Plays of Shakespeare, describes the Bard s excellent
characterization of Claudius:
King Claudius is a superb figure almost as great a dramatic creation as Hamlet himself. His
intellectual powers are of the highest order. He is eloquent formal when formality is appropriate
(as in the speech from the throne), graciously familiar when familiarity is in place (as is his
treatment of the family of Polonius), persuasive to an almost superhuman degree (as in his
manipulation of the insurgent Laertes) always and everywhere a model of royal dignity. His
courage is manifested, under the most terrifying circumstances, when the mob breaks into the
palace. His self control when the dumb show enacts his secret crime before his eyes is nothing less
than marvelous. (xviii)
The irony found in the characterization of the antagonist is balanced by an equal irony in the
presentation of the protagonist. Hamlet is present at the court gathering dressed in black, the color
of mourning, for his deceased father. He is not a man of the world, but rather demurring and
thoughtful and by himself. His first words say that Claudius is A little more than kin and less than
kind, indicating a dissimilarity in values

Switched Reluctance Motor ( Srm ) Essay
Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has merits of rigid and simple structure, simple converter
circuit with fault tolerance, high starting torque, premium speed regulation performance, high
speed capability, high torque to inertia ratio. However, the SRM suffers from noticeable torque
ripple due to discrete nature of the torque production, acoustic noises, high nonlinear
characteristics due to the doubly saliency structure. The nonlinearity in the operation of the SRM
complicates the analysis as well as the control of the motor [1 5]. Based on the modelling of
SRM magnetic circuit, three models of SRM are found in literature: linear model, nonlinear
model without mutual inductances, and nonlinear model with mutual inductances. Linear models
in [6,7] are designed and simulated readily. On contrast nonlinear models are obtained after a
large set of experimental tests to obtain the magnetic characteristics [8 15], or from a finite
element method (FEM) analysis [16 18], which takes into consideration the saturation of rotor
and stator materials. The nonlinear model is preferable when accurate precision is wanted. The
converter used with SRM requires at least one switch per phase due to unidirectional phase
current. This is a big advantage when compared to the converters for AC motor drives. Some
configurations of converters used in SRM drives are presented in [19 22]. The half bridge
asymmetric converter is the most widely used for SRM drive applications, because of its high

The Impact Of Ancient Greek Theater And Tragedy

The Impact of Ancient Greek Theater and Tragedy Ancient Greek culture has influenced our
modern culture in many ways from philosophy to medicine to government. We still use many of
their concepts, technology, and even alphabet system. Without ancient Greece, our modern world
would not have advanced as far. A significant contribution of the ancient Greek culture to the world
today is the Greek theater, more specifically the structure of tragedy. Some contributions are the
structure of tragedy in modern literature, rise of opera, and the creation of the theater. Greek drama
originally started out as a ritual to honor the god of wine, Dionysus, by the cult of Dionysus. In
the ritual, drunk men dressed up in goat skin would sing and have dialogue in chorus to
welcome the leader, the person acting as Dionysus (Sayre 151). In these revel filled festivals,
men dressed as satyrs, companions of Dionysus who are half man and half goat, while the
women dressed up as maenads, the immortal followers of Dionysus. As the participants become
drunk and filled with ecstasy, they transform into a different identity from before. Later on this
behavior became the satyr play, a form of Greek drama. Tragedy is said to be originated from the
Dionysian rites, where the name comes from tragoidos, which means the goat song from the satyrs
companions of Dionysus who are half man and half goat. This could be in reference to the fact that
Dionysus was also the

Sylvia Plath s Poetry And Her Sanity
Sylvia Plath was an American Poet who was renowned for poetry mostly in the United States.
She, however lived a difficult and depressing life which led to a few futile suicide attempts, but
ultimately led to a successful suicide attempt leaving her children to live on without a mother.
This end result was due to a multitude of issues in her life from Sylvia s sanity. She wasn t the
most stable child. Her marriage also played a role in her suicide. Her successes weren t acclaimed
until after her death, when a majority of her work was released. There were two major aspects to
her life: her poetry and her sanity. These three combined make up a majority of Sylvia s life.
Sylvia prided herself as an amazing poet while not receiving the acclaim she wanted. The
Colossus was the only major collection of poems before her death. It didn t receive too much
praise until after her death. Most of her poems dealt with her personal life like those of Daddy
and Ariel. She wrote most of these poems when she was depressed, so she coped with her
depression the only way she knew: writing poems. She wrote about her father, where she claimed
to hate her father due to him walking out on her when she was eight. He didn t actually leave her
on purpose, as he died of complications with his diabetes. However, it made for great writing as it
was critically acclaimed for it being a magnificent poem. Ariel is also series of poems known for

fear, revulsion, and outrage as sexual offenses (Levenson, Grady Leibowitz, 2016). Opponents to
current Sex OffenderRegistration laws point to public access to sex offender registries, all

Convicted sexual offenders were required to verify their address with local law enforcement for
at least 10 years after their release from prison. As a subsection of the Wetterling Act, federal
Megan s Law of 1996 required law enforcement to notify communities and therefore establishing
sex offender registries as public. Notification includes the name, photo, address, incarceration
date and convicted offense. The law is named after Megan Kana, a seven year old who was
raped and killed in 1994 by a registered sex offender who resided across the street from her home.
The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 established a three tier organization to
sex offense crimes. The Act is named after Adam Walsh, a six year old who was abducted and
killed in 1981. Those convicted of Tier 3 offenses have a lifetime registration requirement which
must be updated every three months. Tier 2 offenses have a twenty five year registration
requirement which must be updated every six months. Tier 1 offenses has a fifteen year registration
requirement and must be updated yearly. Lastly, the Adam Walsh Act created a national sex
offender registry, prompting states to create a standardized registration criteria and dissemination
format.

The Progressive Era Of The United States
George F. Will once said, The United States is a successful nation that is constantly susceptible to
melancholy because things are not perfect. During the 1880 s to the 1920 s this statement seemed
to be true about America but this sadness was not seen from the outside. The Progressive Era
brought out these issues and made everyone aware of them. This era was a period in the United
Statesthat consisted of social activism and political reforms. The importance of this era was the
passing of labor laws, anti trustlaws, unionization for important industries and the introduction of
four new amendments in the constitution.
Children have been servants throughout human history. Employers were taking advantage of
children by making them work very long days and work in dangerous conditions. Children
laborers also lacked an education due to the long hours they worked. Children worked to help
support families but yet got very little pay. Reformers and labor organizers wanted to restrict
children labor and improve the working conditions. Most Americans would never agree, they
wanted adults to run the work world and rather give any available job to an adult than a child. The
education reformers battled the vast majority of America because of their opinions on child
education. (I. Yellowitz) After a while, primary school education was a necessity. This education
would improve their self fulfillment and the advancement of the United States. The Fair Labor
Standards Act was designed

Jean Piaget s Theory
With any mental illness there are no clear cut, perfect textbook cases. When observing and
diagnosing bipolar disorder in an adult, there are no definitive tests a doctor can give such as
blood work or even in vivo testing during pregnancy to predict whether or not a child will be
mentally predisposed to a disease such as bipolar disorder. To make such a diagnosis in a child, no
matter how educated is instilling a prophecy onto them that labels and predicts how difficult the
rest of their lives will be, how many roadblocks they have to overcome, and how much medication
they could face taking . Many disorders no matter what their biological or environmental etiology

From age 0 to around the ages of 11 12 children are psychologically changing at a rapid pace, each
stage altered from the previous. They are undergoing a slew of developmental milestones,
socially and cognitively. A child of three years old is more concerned with his or her toys over
making friends, whereas a ten year old is refining their social skills and devoting more time to
building serious friendships. Emotionally, both the three and ten year old meet different
requirements. According to the CDC, by five years old a child will preemptively be able to
display a wide range of emotions, act independently, distinguish between what is real and fake,
be able to use the bathroom without assistance, and be able to recall and remember items as part
of everyday use. Per recommendation of the CDC, parents are encouraged to take note of
specific milestones throughout their child s life and to Tell your child s doctor or nurse if you
notice any of these signs of possible developmental delay for this age, acting early is crucial to
pinpointing a possible cause to outlying behavior. Taking a closer look at why a child is not
meeting crucial developmental points, creates more subjective data which can allow for a
conclusive diagnosis when they have developed physically, emotionally and

The United States Involvement During The Vietnam War
The United States involvement in the Vietnam War primarily between the years 1964 and 1968
were brought about by the many hostilities and frustrations predominately based on issues of the
Cold War, communism, the Policy of Containment, and the Domino Theory. When the United
States first got involved in the Vietnam War in the first half of the 1960s, problems had been
ongoing for quite sometime and were continuing to increasingly get worse. Throughout the period
of U.S. involvement in the war, there were many supporters and non supporters that included
various political groups, interest groups, students, Civil Rights groups, and the military. Through
all of the issues of U.S. involvement up to the major events that took place during the time period
of 1964 1968, a great deal happened and the U.S. was unsuccessful in attaining the goal that it
wished to achieve in Vietnam; ending the reign of communism. Arising out of issues originating in
the Cold War and primarily the stopping of the spread of communism, the Vietnam War had a
lasting impact that would never be forgotten. Many Americans believed that the containment
doctrine, which was devised by George Kennan, was the key doctrine that got the United States
involved in the Vietnam War to begin with; however, others say that no president really decided to
go to wage war in Vietnam but instead became involved because of increasing commitment over
many years (Brinkley, 843). From right after the end of World War II in

Miracles In The Book Grand Miracle By C. S. Lewis
Miracles by C.S Lewis centers on miracles in his book he wrote about the Grand Miracle which
can be found in chapter 14. He mentioned how these miracles and other biblical stories have
influenced the Christian worldview. In the sense that Miracle as laid this foundation for Christians
and their basic makeup of the world. He stated his views about miracles he believes there are two
ways we can view and interpret miracles which is nature and supernature. The fitness or credibility,
of the Grand miracleitself cannot obviously, be judged by the same standard (page 174). The
people who view miracles from a supernatural perspective accept that there is an empirical proof
which is not just clear in history that can validate all the importance of the Grand Miracle that the
Christian religionbelieve exist. While the people who view miracles using the natural perspective
disagree that there is no any empirical proof. Most people in the 21st century believe that these
biblical miracles really happened and some believe it did not happen. Thinking in the 21st century

at things from different perspective in order to avoid disagreement. Instead this act of not

Analysis Of The Poem The Chimney Sweeper
Blake s poem The Chimney Sweeper is considered to be one of his finest, yet contradictory
works of his life, as he provides a negative social perspective on the topic of child labour. Assisted
through the use of various poetic techniques such as anecdotes, biblical illusion, symbolism,
euphemism, metaphors, and rhyme, Blake was able to assertively convey his protest towards
the laws against the use of young children in the British workforce. The theme of child innocence
is also the other main explored topic throughout this poem, as it is also in a majority of Blake s
writing, as well as a common subject touched on by a majority of The Romantics. The first
stanza of the poem highlights how the children that were apprenticed by their parents to
sweepers were of such a young age, historically documented to be as young as 5 years old. This
is demonstrated by the line my father sold me while yet my tongue, Could scarcely cry weep!
weep! weep! weep! this stanza protesting social issues such as child labour as well as involuntary
servitude. Blake is able to express this point more effectively through anecdotes, as Blake
describes the life of a boy, the narrator, whose mother dies at an early age and is then sold into
chimneysweeping by his father. Imagery is another technique used, as the narrator not
metaphorically, but literally, sleeps in/on the black soot he works in, as chimney sweepers were
known to sleep on the bags of soot they swept during the day. In

Essay On Employee Retention
RECRUITING AND RETAINING EMPLOYEES IN A SEASONAL ENVIRONMENT
November 1, 2011 Many organizations do not have the luxury of having a constant demand in
their businesses. Some companies face a large increase in business for the holiday season, summer
vacation, or for a major event throughout the year. These predictable trends allow many businesses
to hire additional employees to help with the demand. The organizations are then forced to lay
several employees off when the demand returns to a normal level. This paper focuses on where
organizations with a large increase in seasonal demand can recruit new employees and what
programs they can create to help increase employee retention. Solutions include working with

signed by all parties involved. The agreements prevent companies from hiring employees on a
full time basis and are designed to prevent litigation caused by the Employee Exchange Program.
After the exchange, employee evaluations are conducted at the partnering companies. Finally,

Greek Religion And Public Life In Ancient Greece
The Greek people had many things they were proud of for evolving as their era began to pick up
steam. The things they were well known for were their religious beliefs and their philosophies.
Though both were pivotal for the Greek people, these two areas were very different.
Greek Religion To the Greeks, religion, was a major part of their private and public life every day.
Greek religion was big on public rituals, community festivals, showed great community pride, and
was big on their heritage. Their religion was more public than private. Their religion was divided
up into two categories. The Olympian deities whom they felt dwelled in the skies or mountaintops.
Olympian religion felt that the deities intercede in daily activities, and that

Flood Myths Essay examples
Flood Myths
Myths from many different cultures seem to tell the same story. Themes from Babylonian myth
can be seen in Egyptian stories; elements of Christian theology are evident in some ancient
Chinese texts, and so on. How is this possible? How can cultures that have had little physical
contact present us with such analogous narratives? These questions grow more perplexing when
time is considered. Many of these tales are not only from separate corners of the earth, but also
seem to have been written in vastly disparate time periods. This being said, it is still a fact that
these cultures do rely on a number of shared stories. The hero exists universally; and often shares a
number of elements across cultural boundaries. All ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yahweh looks down upon the men and women he has created and is saddened by their lack of
values. He decides to rid the earth of this corrupt age and begin anew. Both versions then have a god
choosing to save one man. The Babylonian version tells us of Utnapishtim. He is warned of Enlil
s plan by Ea, through a dream, and is instructed to build a great boat. Noah was the only man on
earth still in Yahweh s favor. So he came to Noah and told him to also build a boat.
The men are then instructed to take with them certain people, animals and possessions. Ea tells
Utnapishtim to bring with him family and kin, gold, beasts, both wild and tame, and craftsmen.
Noah is advised to take only his family and a pair of each of the earth s animals onto his boat. The
items each man is directed to take says a great deal about the culture associated with each story.
The Christian world is focused on piety and stresses the importance of denying oneself material
wealth. Noah is not told to bring with him any worldly possessions unlike Utnapishtim who is told
to take gold. Utnapishtim is also told to bring craftsmen, which emphasizes the important role they
played in Babylonian culture.
As the flood begins each man is warned that it will soon be time to board his boat. However, the
amount of time each man is given to prepare varies considerably between the two stories. Noah is
given seven days to load all of the animals onto the ark, while Shamash comes to Utnapishtim and

Female Role In Modern Philosophy
The era of modern philosophy, with a special canalization period during the 18th and 19th centuries,
was a time of flourishing activity in terms of philosophical importance. Whether we re speaking
with relation to Cartesianism, the moral and political philosophy of Nietzsche, or another male
during the period, their philosophical ideologies still remain present and of use in multiple
presentations from bioethics to law. Transgressing beyond the grave, the impacts of these few still
conquer, but what about the ideologies of the nameless? Continually ignored within the narrative,
one primary demographic of philosophers during the era of modern philosophythat is commonly
ignored is that of women. Although the importance of female impact on modern philosophy is
quantified as minuscule, the females of this era had achievements and impacts on the ideologies of
their predecessors and deserve recognition. Of the primary accomplishments of females within
modern philosophy, three main emphases reign most important to modernity and those are as

The Importance Of The HIPAA Interactions And Code Set...
The HIPAA transactions and code set standards are certain rules that regulate electronic data
interchange (EDI) of healthcare information, which include patients identifiable and medical data,
between two or more parties. Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996
(HIPAA), if providers or healthcare organizations conduct one of the nine types of electronic
transactions of health related information, they must adhere to the standards, which include claims
status reporting, claims submission, referral authorization and certification, and benefits
coordination. In addition, HIPAA mandates that all transactions must use standardized medical code
sets, such as CPT codes, Health Care Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), and ICD 10, to ensure
the uniform communications between providers, healthcare organizations, and payers ( American
Medical Association, 2013).
The standards affect all practices because insurance payers and health plans require all paper or
electronically submitted claims must use HIPAA transactions and code set standards to be
complied with HIPAA rules and regulations. The Code Set standards allows any insurance
companies to understand the provided services that providers send in submitted claims. Therefore,
the HIPAA standards assure that payers will promptly respond to electronic claims submission with
proper reimbursements for providers and healthcare organizations with minimal delays. With
electronic transactions, the standards have

  • 2. James Fennimore s Last Of The Mohicans The book last of Mohicans is a really good novel that gives a lot of action, romanticism and suspense, really gets the reader going. James Fennimore cooper really gave a historical background writing the novel last of the Mohicans. The novel represents the Mohicans (Mahican) and the parts of the history. James Fennimore cooper really had an accurate noveland an outstanding point of view. The Mohican tribe was really interesting and they originally came from the banks of the Hudson River, where it is now New York State. They also lived in many other places but unfortunately the Europeans came and killed many Mohicans. The surviving Mohicans had to move to the west. Later on the Mohicans moved to Stockbridge where they live today. The Mohican children lived like any other child they did there chores went to school and played games but there was a bit difference in today s children then in the Mohicans back then. The Mohicans children used to do more chores then they would play but what was really interesting is how they played the games, they were given miniature arrows where they would hunt for small animals and would often play ball games similar to soccer but a bit different, instead of using your feet you would use a... Pearl Littlefield is a young girl who just entered the fifth grade and on the very first day she is having trouble with an assignment. Pearl has been to Waterworks before so she was kind of like JBIII s tour guide since this was his first year. Pearl was telling JBIII what to do and she was kind of like his owner and he was the dog. JBIII got mad and since they were in groups he and another Dude switched. Pearl was stuck with a bossy, know it all and didn t have much fun at the waterpark. Pearl s and JBIII s fight continued at the Garlic festival that the camp also takes them to. Pearl was going to apologize when they got back from the Garlic Festival but landed JBIII in the hospital. Pearl was running up to JBIII while he was standing on the edge of the dock and was going to apologize but she knocked him elbow first on the dock and broke his elbow. Pearl ended up not apologizing to him for he was already being whisked away by EMS. [and] Have we improved our painting process by installing a new sprayer? These questions are meant to investigate and apply different techniques that we can use to improve the quality of life. Qualitycontrol not only applies to manufacturing techniques, it can also be applied to everyday life. This discussion will focus on a specific method of quality control called statistical process control that will ensure my morning process is effective. One method of quality control can be pursued through process control procedures like statistical process control or SPC. SPC involves testing a random sample of output from a process to ... A seasonal factor is the amount of correction needed in a time series to adjust for the season of the year. The alarm clock that is used to wake me up in the morning is not dependent on any factors of time or season. • 12. Biological And Trait Perspectives On The Human Personality Biological and Trait Perspectives and Explanations of Neuroticism Two perspectives on the human personality will be explained in the following two sections. The first perspective is the biological perspective of personality. This perspective focuses largely on the internal genetic makeup of an individual and the effects this has on his or her personality. The biological perspective is strongly based on other scientific fields in laboratory or clinical conditions such as biology and biochemistry. The biological perspective involves intricate and often time consuming scientific experiments to test for personality traits and correlations. Evolution is sometimes also mentioned within the biological perspective in sociobiology. The structure and function of the brain (neurobiology) is also central to the biological theory of personality. The second perspective to be mentioned is the trait perspective of personality. According to Costa and McCrae, examination of the trait theory of personality is required for someone to make sense of the human personality (1998). Two ideas are central to the trait perspective of personality: A person s behaviors, contemplations, and emotions are relatively stable in varying situations and with time, and each individual personality is different from all other personalities (Carver Sheier, 2012). The trait perspective asserts that personalities are made up of various traits that vary in degrees of strength. These traits are exemplified on a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, as she starts the poem, she uses words that that display both the excitement she felt, as well as the frustration that her father was experiencing after losing his job. At first, she uses dynamic words and phrases such as piled / running noses / drove fast and later on, festival and carnival these words seem to denote the excitement that Barreca felt as a child. Due to a lack of background information and a plethora of ambiguousness, the characters and situation can be read in numerous different ways. It seems that this play could cause more grief and misunderstandings between two groups that have been rife with troubles for ages. This also shows her selfless attitude, her willingness to go without just to see her family prevail; this establishes credibility with the reader considering they think Millie is not truthful in her plans. Another example takes place between Millie and the church, they want one tenth of Millie s earnings, but she tells them that money is all she has to live on, and God has spoken to her in a dream; Millicent, you are a hard working girl. What this means is that it is impossible to use the laws of physics to predict the structure of the region after the Cauchy horizon. This breakdown of predictability has led physicists to hypothesize that a singularity should form at the Cauchy horizon, forcing the evolution of the interior to stop at the Cauchy horizon, rendering the idea of a region after it meaningless. Recently this hypothesis was tested in a simple black hole model. A spherically symmetric black hole with a point electric charge has the same essential features as a rotating black hole. It was shown in the spherical model that the Cauchy horizon does develop a scalar curvature singularity. It was also found that the mass of the black hole measured near the Cauchy horizon diverges exponentially as the Cauchy horizon is approached. This led to this phenomena being dubbed mass inflation. In order to understand what exactly a black hole is, we must first take a look at the basis for the cause of a black hole. All black holes are formed from the gravitational collapse of a star, usually having a great, massive, core. A star is created when huge, gigantic, gas clouds bind together due to attractive forces and form a hot core, combined from all the energy of the two gas clouds. This energy produced is so great when it first collides, that a nuclear reaction occurs and the gases within the star start to burn continuously. The hydrogen gas is ... • 34. Switched Reluctance Motor ( Srm ) Essay Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has merits of rigid and simple structure, simple converter circuit with fault tolerance, high starting torque, premium speed regulation performance, high speed capability, high torque to inertia ratio. However, the SRM suffers from noticeable torque ripple due to discrete nature of the torque production, acoustic noises, high nonlinear characteristics due to the doubly saliency structure. The nonlinearity in the operation of the SRM complicates the analysis as well as the control of the motor [1 5]. Based on the modelling of SRM magnetic circuit, three models of SRM are found in literature: linear model, nonlinear model without mutual inductances, and nonlinear model with mutual inductances. Linear models in [6,7] are designed and simulated readily. On contrast nonlinear models are obtained after a large set of experimental tests to obtain the magnetic characteristics [8 15], or from a finite element method (FEM) analysis [16 18], which takes into consideration the saturation of rotor and stator materials. The nonlinear model is preferable when accurate precision is wanted. The converter used with SRM requires at least one switch per phase due to unidirectional phase current. This is a big advantage when compared to the converters for AC motor drives. Some configurations of converters used in SRM drives are presented in [19 22]. The half bridge asymmetric converter is the most widely used for SRM drive applications, because of its high ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Impact Of Ancient Greek Theater And Tragedy Michimasa Kamata HUM 101 007 3/17/16 The Impact of Ancient Greek Theater and Tragedy Ancient Greek culture has influenced our modern culture in many ways from philosophy to medicine to government. We still use many of their concepts, technology, and even alphabet system. Without ancient Greece, our modern world would not have advanced as far. A significant contribution of the ancient Greek culture to the world today is the Greek theater, more specifically the structure of tragedy. Some contributions are the structure of tragedy in modern literature, rise of opera, and the creation of the theater. Greek drama originally started out as a ritual to honor the god of wine, Dionysus, by the cult of Dionysus. In the ritual, drunk men dressed up in goat skin would sing and have dialogue in chorus to welcome the leader, the person acting as Dionysus (Sayre 151). In these revel filled festivals, men dressed as satyrs, companions of Dionysus who are half man and half goat, while the women dressed up as maenads, the immortal followers of Dionysus. As the participants become drunk and filled with ecstasy, they transform into a different identity from before. Later on this behavior became the satyr play, a form of Greek drama. Tragedy is said to be originated from the Dionysian rites, where the name comes from tragoidos, which means the goat song from the satyrs companions of Dionysus who are half man and half goat. This could be in reference to the fact that Dionysus was also the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of her poems dealt with her personal life like those of Daddy and Ariel. She wrote most of these poems when she was depressed, so she coped with her depression the only way she knew: writing poems. She wrote about her father, where she claimed to hate her father due to him walking out on her when she was eight. He didn t actually leave her on purpose, as he died of complications with his diabetes. However, it made for great writing as it was critically acclaimed for it being a magnificent poem. Once you divorce, you have the right to keep your husband s last name, return to your maiden name or heck, make up a whole new name of your choosing. I recreated a scene showing the children, Charles and Smudge, playing on monkey bars in the park. This setting is important to the text because it illustrates the free spirit of the youngsters. In fact, playing in the park symbolizes freedom from their parents. Charles and Smudge s are able to run wild, escaping their parent s negativity. During the 1880 s to the 1920 s this statement seemed to be true about America but this sadness was not seen from the outside. The Progressive Era brought out these issues and made everyone aware of them. This era was a period in the United Statesthat consisted of social activism and political reforms. The importance of this era was the passing of labor laws, anti trustlaws, unionization for important industries and the introduction of four new amendments in the constitution. Children have been servants throughout human history. Employers were taking advantage of children by making them work very long days and work in dangerous conditions. Children laborers also lacked an education due to the long hours they worked. Children worked to help support families but yet got very little pay. Reformers and labor organizers wanted to restrict children labor and improve the working conditions. Most Americans would never agree, they wanted adults to run the work world and rather give any available job to an adult than a child. The United States Involvement During The Vietnam War The United States involvement in the Vietnam War primarily between the years 1964 and 1968 were brought about by the many hostilities and frustrations predominately based on issues of the Cold War, communism, the Policy of Containment, and the Domino Theory. When the United States first got involved in the Vietnam War in the first half of the 1960s, problems had been ongoing for quite sometime and were continuing to increasingly get worse. Throughout the period of U.S. involvement in the war, there were many supporters and non supporters that included various political groups, interest groups, students, Civil Rights groups, and the military. Through all of the issues of U.S. involvement up to the major events that took place during the time period of 1964 1968, a great deal happened and the U.S. was unsuccessful in attaining the goal that it wished to achieve in Vietnam; ending the reign of communism. Arising out of issues originating in the Cold War and primarily the stopping of the spread of communism, the Vietnam War had a lasting impact that would never be forgotten. Many Americans believed that the containment doctrine, which was devised by George Kennan, was the key doctrine that got the United States involved in the Vietnam War to begin with; however, others say that no president really decided to go to wage war in Vietnam but instead became involved because of increasing commitment over many years (Brinkley, 843). • 47. Analysis Of The Poem The Chimney Sweeper Blake s poem The Chimney Sweeper is considered to be one of his finest, yet contradictory works of his life, as he provides a negative social perspective on the topic of child labour. Assisted through the use of various poetic techniques such as anecdotes, biblical illusion, symbolism, euphemism, metaphors, and rhyme, Blake was able to assertively convey his protest towards the laws against the use of young children in the British workforce. The theme of child innocence is also the other main explored topic throughout this poem, as it is also in a majority of Blake s writing, as well as a common subject touched on by a majority of The Romantics. The first stanza of the poem highlights how the children that were apprenticed by their parents to sweepers were of such a young age, historically documented to be as young as 5 years old. This is demonstrated by the line my father sold me while yet my tongue, Could scarcely cry weep! weep! weep! weep! this stanza protesting social issues such as child labour as well as involuntary servitude. Blake is able to express this point more effectively through anecdotes, as Blake describes the life of a boy, the narrator, whose mother dies at an early age and is then sold into chimneysweeping by his father. Imagery is another technique used, as the narrator not metaphorically, but literally, sleeps in/on the black soot he works in, as chimney sweepers were known to sleep on the bags of soot they swept during the day. Themes from Babylonian myth can be seen in Egyptian stories; elements of Christian theology are evident in some ancient Chinese texts, and so on. How is this possible? He is warned of Enlil s plan by Ea, through a dream, and is instructed to build a great boat. Noah was the only man on earth still in Yahweh s favor. So he came to Noah and told him to also build a boat. The men are then instructed to take with them certain people, animals and possessions. Ea tells Utnapishtim to bring with him family and kin, gold, beasts, both wild and tame, and craftsmen. Noah is advised to take only his family and a pair of each of the earth s animals onto his boat. The items each man is directed to take says a great deal about the culture associated with each story. The Christian world is focused on piety and stresses the importance of denying oneself material wealth. Noah is not told to bring with him any worldly possessions unlike Utnapishtim who is told to take gold. Utnapishtim is also told to bring craftsmen, which emphasizes the important role they played in Babylonian culture. As the flood begins each man is warned that it will soon be time to board his boat. The HIPAA transactions and code set standards are certain rules that regulate electronic data interchange (EDI) of healthcare information, which include patients identifiable and medical data, between two or more parties.
