Abstract Unit Plan
- 1. My unit plan is based on Math Concepts. I am teaching a class of first graders addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. In the course of a week, they will be able to solve simple equations using all four properties. On Monday, they will be taught using in-class lessons, an in- class activity, a Jeopardy game and a take home assignment that will be posted on my teacher profile page on Facebook. On Tuesday, they will be taught using in-class lessons, an in-class activity, and a how-to video on addition and subtraction. The next couple of days, we will focus on multiplication and division. On Wednesday, they will be taught with in-class lessons and in- class educational games. On Thursday, they will be taught with in-class lessons, a how-two video on multiplication and division, and a quiz-based podcast. On Friday, we will overview everything we covered over the course of a week. I will show a PowerPoint video to review addition and subtraction. Then I will have the class answer flashcard equations based on multiplication and division. To wrap it up, I will show the poster I made on math concepts and have the students connect the equations with the right answers. All of these different, fun teaching styles could not be done without a SmartBoard. With the SmartBoard, students will be able to accomplish all of these fun, learning techniques by being involved with the activity via SmartBoard. By the end of the week, my students will know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide simple math equations.
