The economic growth of any country depends, to a certain degree, on the ability of the country’s business community to maximize their growth potential. One of the biggest contributors from the business community of any nation, to the nation’s economic development, is the small and medium sized enterprise (SME) sector. Studies have shown that SMEs and indeed, large and multi-national organizations can improve their productive capacity by using the benefits of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT). This paper explores how the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the developing economies such as Nigeria can achieve their own growth through the adoption of information communication technology. This study relies on secondary data from various sources to examine the availability, accessibility and affordability to relevant ICT facilities and challenges facing SMEs in the use of information technology. The study recommends that agencies that regulate SMEs should formulate policies that will facilitate the adoption of ICT facilities by SMEs because of its potential in improving firms growth performance; SMEs owners should invest in ICT and its components because they have been proven to significantly influence organizational performance.

Development on the Internet has led to the formation of Information Technology (IT) and IT has created various solutions for different sectors one among those is education. The educational sector has opened opportunities for entrepreneurship. Online learning has become a new trend in the constantly changing world and IT solutions have provided ways for it. Many such promising companies and startups have started coming up and a sector known as EdTech (a combination of education and technology which was made possible with the help of IT solutions) started growing up with billions invested in it around the globe. It is thus one of the fastest-growing sectors as it aims to make education feasible and accessible from any corner of the world. Vocational education as such is gaining more attendance in today’s world as there is a high demand for skilled and specialized people. Governments around the world are hugely investing in the skill development of their citizens. The purpose of this paper is to review the newly formed sector known as EdTech and analyze the role of Information Technology (IT) in creating opportunities for entrepreneurship. Further going on how in return entrepreneurship is transforming education (Sambamurthy, Bharadwaj, & Grover, 2003). A sample of 335 respondents has been surveyed to know the role and significance of information technology in creating Entrepreneurial opportunities in vocational education. Survey method and factor analysis are used to get the results. The study concludes that there are so many significant roles of information technology in creating Entrepreneurial opportunities in vocational education.
Gender is an important issue in the context of information and communication technologies ICT . Studies show that ICT use is subject to gender bias, e.g. in relation to ICT use and interests. This contribution describes the current situation of gender and ICT professions. Based on an empirical study, it shows particular areas in ICT education that suffer from gender inequalities in both countries. Furthermore, the chapter elaborates how gender inequalities develop from secondary to professional ICT careers based on statistics. As a consequence of recession driven economic development, the information and communication technology sector has weakened in recent years in OECD countries. Still, an ICT growth of about 4 percent was observed in 2008. Although there was a decrease in 2009 due to the current financial crisis, a general upturn is expected in the long term because of constant development of the ICT services, software, products for Internet use and communication, and infrastructure. The ICT skills of the work force contribute to the growth the overall share of employees in ICT specialist occupations is 4 percent and increasing rapidly, and 20 percent of employment relates to occupations that use ICT extensively.Even though information and communication technology ICT is essential for everyday life and has gained considerable attention in education and other sectors, it also carries individual differences in its use and relevant skills. This systematic review aims to examine the gender differences in ICT use and skills for learning through technology. A comprehensive search of eight journal databases and a specific selection criterion was carried out to exclude articles that match our stated exclusion criteria. We included 42 peer reviewed empirical publications and conference proceedings published between 2006 and 2020. For a subsample of studies, we performed a small scale meta analysis to quantify possible gender differences in ICT use and skills. A random effects model uncovered a small and positive, yet not significant, effect size in favor of boys g = 0.17, 95 CI 0.01, 0.36 . However, this finding needs to be further backed by large scale meta analyses, including more study samples and a broader set of ICT use and skills measures. We highlight several concerns that should be addressed and more thoroughly in collaboration with one another to better IT skills and inspire new policies to increase the quality of ICT use. All this usage produces daily huge data that cannot be processed using existing database management techniques and tools because of the size, the volume, the heterogeneity, and the unstructured nature of the data. This has led many sectors like healthcare, business, education, and so forth to start using Big Data technologies to analyze, process, decision making and performance. Big Data is “datasets which could not be captured, managed, and processed by general computers within an acceptable scope” [1].Education sectors are one of the most important sectors that use information and communication technology (ICT).However, the education sector in Saudi Arabia is still behind other developed countries in terms of the adopting and implementation of Big Data techniques. The aim of this study is to develop an integrated framework to utilize Big Data for higher educational institutes in Saudi Arabia and to support decision making and improve performance. epitomising the opportunity that globalisation offers a low-income
developing country. The success of Indian techno-entrepreneurs in the US
and the rapid growth of the Indian software and IT-enabled services
industries, especially its export segment, have buoyed expectations of the
potential for growth and human development that ICT holds out. If India-trained
hardware and software
technologists can dominate the industry in Silicon Valley and elsewhere in
the US and if entrepreneurs of Indian origin can play a leading role in the
new wealth being created in the new economy there, the argument goes, it
should be possible for India to harness these skills to earn foreign revenues,
spur domestic growth and ensure substantial welfare gains. Implicit in such
reasoning are judgements about the potential that ICT holds out, about the
ability of a developing country like India to exploit that potential and about
the possibilities of overcoming any constraints to the realisation of that
potential. One of the objectives of this study is to examine the basis for each
of these sets of judgements.
Developments in information and communication technologies during the
last quarter of the 20th century are widely seen as having heralded an
information age in which economic and social activity has been widened,
deepened and transformed. Optimistic projections would have it that a
computerised and networked world would not only change work practices,
attitudes to leisure and life styles, but also allow for a more widespread and
rapid growth of employment, productivity and output.

The IT Sector:
Information technology essentially refers to the digital processing, storage
and
communication of information of all kinds. Therefore, IT can potentially be
used in every sector of the economy. The true impact of IT on growth and
productivity continues to be a matter of debate, even in the United States,
which have been the leader and largest adopter of IT. However, there is no
doubt that the IT sector has been a dynamic one in many developed
countries, and India has stood out as a developing country where IT, in the
guise of software exports, has grown dramatically, despite the country’s
relatively low level of income and development. An example of IT’s
broader impact comes from the case of so-called IT-enabled
services, a broad category covering many different kinds of data processing

experiments underway in different parts of India, aiming to realise
this potential of ICT. This is the objective underlying the talk about ‘e-governance’
in many developing country environments. A case in point is
the disaster management project, developed as part of the Maharashtra
Emergency Earthquake Rehabilitation Project (MEERP), being
implemented in the State of Maharashtra, aimed at minimising the adverse
effects of natural disasters.
