3. An example of the ways that we used synergy
in our main and ancillary texts can be seen in
our choice of font throughout each product.
We used the font 'Bangla MN' in all of our
products as it was simplistic yet edgy,
conveying the codes and conventions of our
genre of psychological thriller.This created
synergy so that an audience could see that
the poster, trailer and magazine cover were
of the same franchise.
4. The production team's name was also
displayed on the movie poster, in the trailer
and on the magazine cover.This showed that
these texts where all from the same producer.
This is an important aspect as production
companies must consider reflecting their
brands reputation onto the products that
they produce.
5. The unique selling points of our products are the
image, colour scheme, logo, font and graphics.
Although we abided by many of the codes and
conventions represented by previous psychological
thriller films, we used and edited these codes and
conventions so that they became unique to our
product yet still met audience expectation. An
example of this can be seen in the main image for our
poster and magazine cover, often the main stars and
actors of the film are featured here. In our own
product we wanted to cover themes of mystery and
anonymity, therefore we chose to not display a
promotional photograph of the lead actor.
6. The graphics that where used on the poster
and magazine cover where unique as we
edited both in a style that connoted ideas of
obscurity and hidden identity.The main
image that we edited was a log out screen
from a popular blogging site (Tumblr), this is
also featured in our trailer, another example
of synergy between our products.
