Abstract Cloud computing is bringing a revolution in computing environment replacing traditional software installations, licensing issues into complete on-demand services through internet. In Cloud computing multiple cloud users can request number of cloud services simultaneously. So there must be a provision that all resources are made available to requesting user in efficient manner to satisfy their need. Resource allocation is based on quality of service and service level agreement. A randomized online stack-centric scheduling algorithm (ROSA) is implemented with linked list in order to maintain the status of the resource and to allocate resources without time constrains.

ABSTRACT
Cloud computing utilizes large scale computing infrastructure that has been radically changing the IT landscape enabling remote access to computing resources with low service cost, high scalability , availability and accessibility. Serving tasks from multiple users where the tasks are of different characteristics with variation in the requirement of computing power may cause under or over utilization of resources.Therefore maintaining such mega-scale datacenter requires efficient resource management procedure to increase resource utilization. However, while maintaining efficiency in service provisioning it is necessary to ensure the maximization of profit for the cloud providers. Most of the current research works aims at how providers can offer efficient service provisioning to the user and improving system performance. There are comparatively fewer specific works regarding resource management which also deals with the economic section that considers profit maximization for the provider. In this paper we represent a model that deals with both efficient resource utilization and pricing of the resources. The joint resource management model combines the work of user assignment, task scheduling and load balancing on the fact of CPU power endorsement. We propose four algorithms respectively for user assignment, task scheduling, load balancing and pricing that works on group based resources offering reduction in task execution time(56.3%),activated physical machines(41.44%),provisioning cost(23%) . The cost is calculated over a time interval involving the number of served customer at this time and the amount of resources used within this time

Auto scaling is a service provided by the cloud service provider that allows provision of temporary resources to the subscriber’s systems to prevent overloading. So far, many methods of auto scaling have been proposed and applied. Among them, solutions based on low-level metrics are commonly used in industry systems. Resource statistics are the basis for detecting overloading situation and making additional resources in a timely manner. However, the effectiveness of these methods depends very much on the accuracy of the overload calculation from low-level metrics. Overloading is mentioned in solutions that usually favor a shortage of CPU resources. However, the demand for resources comes from the application running on that each application has the characteristics of demanding different resource types, with different CPU, memory, I/O ratios so it can not just be statistically on CPU consumption. The point of view here is that even though based on low level resources, the source for calculation and forecasting is the characteristic of the resource needs of the application. In this paper, we will develop an empirical model to assess the effect of the application's resource consumption characteristics on the efficiency of the lowmetricauto scaling solutions and propose an auto scaling solution that is calculated based on statistics of different types of resources. The results of the simulations show that the proposed solution based on multiple resources is more positive.

In this research paper, we are particularly focusing on the cloud server maintenance and scheduling process and to do so, we are using the interactive broadcasting energy efficient computing technique along with the cloud computing server. Additionally, the remote host machines used for cloud services are dissipating more power and with that they are consuming more and more energy. The effect of the power consumption is one of the main factors for determining the cost of the computing resources. With the idea of using the avoidance technology for assigning the data center resources that dynamically depend on the application demands and supports the cloud computing with the optimization of the servers in use.

A content distribution service is a major part of popular Internet applications. In proposed system hybrid clouds are used i.e., both private cloud as well as public cloud. One data center is allocated to each region. Providing security to the data is always an important issue because of the critical nature of the cloud and very large amount of complicated data it carries. To provide security cipher text policy algorithm is used. Authentication technique is used to verify the user authentication. Resource Allocation and Task scheduling are the most important key words in today’s dynamic cloud based applications. Task scheduling involves assigning tasks to available processors with the aim of producing minimum execution time, whereas resource allocation involves deciding on an allocation policy to allocate resources to various tasks so as to have maximum resource utilization. Algorithms used for scheduling resources for virtual machines are designed for both homogeneous and heterogeneous environments. Majority of the algorithms focus on processing ability often neglecting other features such as network bandwidth and actual resource requirements. One of the major pitfalls in cloud computing is related to optimizing the resources being allocated. Because of the uniqueness of the model, resource allocation is performed with the objective of minimizing the costs associated with it. The other challenges of resource allocation are meeting customer demands and application requirements. In this paper we will focus on the challenges faced in task scheduling and resource allocation in dynamic heterogeneous clouds.
Cloud computing is an emerging technology. It process huge amount of data so scheduling mechanism
works as a vital role in the cloud computing. Thus my protocol is designed to minimize the switching time,
improve the resource utilization and also improve the server performance and throughput. This method or
protocol is based on scheduling the jobs in the cloud and to solve the drawbacks in the existing protocols.
Here we assign the priority to the job which gives better performance to the computer and try my best to
minimize the waiting time and switching time. Best effort has been made to manage the scheduling of jobs
for solving drawbacks of existing protocols and also improvise the efficiency and throughput of the server.

Importance and management of fusarium wilt (Fusarium udum Butler) of pigeonpe...Innspub Net
Fusarium wilt (Fusarium udum Butler) is an important soil borne disease of pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp], which causes significant yield losses in susceptible cultivars throughout the pigeonpea growing areas. The soil borne fungus enters the host vascular system at root tips through wounds leading to progressive chlorosis of leaves, branches, wilting and collapse of the root system. Temperature, soil type, water retentive nature of the soil and nutrient availability has been shown to affect fusarium population. Disease management strategies have emphasized on integrated disease management practices. Despite extensive pathological and molecular studies, the nature and extent of pathogenic variability in F. udum has not been clearly established. Information on characterization of F. udum is needed to help identify race differentials. In addition, there is limited knowledge on the inheritance of fusarium wilt and other important traits in pigeonpea thus limiting specific cultivar improvement. This paper reviews the literature on the distribution, symptomalogy, factors that affect its development and control strategies of the disease. THE EFFECT OF THE RESOURCE CONSUMPTION CHARACTERISTICS OF CLOUD APPLICATIONS ...ijccsa
Auto scaling is a service provided by the cloud service provider that allows provision of temporary
resources to the subscriber’s systems to prevent overloading. So far, many methods of auto scaling have
been proposed and applied. Among them, solutions based on low-level metrics are commonly used in
industry systems. Resource statistics are the basis for detecting overloading situation and making
additional resources in a timely manner. However, the effectiveness of these methods depends very much
on the accuracy of the overload calculation from low-level metrics. Overloading is mentioned in solutions
that usually favor a shortage of CPU resources. However, the demand for resources comes from the
application running on that each application has the characteristics of demanding different resource types,
with different CPU, memory, I/O ratios so it can not just be statistically on CPU consumption. The point of
view here is that even though based on low level resources, the source for calculation and forecasting is the
characteristic of the resource needs of the application. In this paper, we will develop an empirical model to
assess the effect of the application's resource consumption characteristics on the efficiency of the lowmetricauto scaling solutions and propose an auto scaling solution that is calculated based on statistics of
different types of resources. The results of the simulations show that the proposed solution based on
multiple resources is more positive.

GROUP BASED RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND PRICING MODEL IN CLOUD COMPUTINGijcsit
Cloud computing utilizes large scale computing infrastructure that has been radically changing the IT landscape enabling remote access to computing resources with low service cost, high scalability , availability and accessibility. Serving tasks from multiple users where the tasks are of different characteristics with variation in the requirement of computing power may cause under or over utilization of resources.Therefore maintaining such mega-scale datacenter requires efficient resource management procedure to increase resource utilization. However, while maintaining efficiency in service provisioning it is necessary to ensure the maximization of profit for the cloud providers. Most of the current research works aims at how providers can offer efficient service provisioning to the user and improving system performance. There are comparatively fewer specific works regarding resource management which also deals with the economic section that considers profit maximization for the provider. In this paper we represent a model that deals with both efficient resource utilization and pricing of the resources. The joint resource management model combines the work of user assignment, task scheduling and load balancing on the fact of CPU power endorsement. We propose four algorithms respectively for user assignment, task scheduling, load balancing and pricing that works on group based resources offering reduction in task execution time(56.3%),activated physical machines(41.44%),provisioning cost(23%) . The cost is calculated over a time interval involving the number of served customer at this time and the amount of resources used within this time.

Prediction Based Efficient Resource Provisioning and Its Impact on QoS Parame...IJECEIAES
The purpose of this paper is to provision the on demand resources to the end users as per their need using prediction method in cloud computing environment. The provisioning of virtualized resources to cloud consumers according to their need is a crucial step in the deployment of applications on the cloud. However, the dynamical management of resources for variable workloads remains a challenging problem for cloud providers. This problem can be solved by using a prediction based adaptive resource provisioning mechanism, which can estimate the upcoming resource demands of applications. The present research introduces a prediction based resource provisioning model for the allocation of resources in advance. The proposed approach facilitates the release of unused resources in the pool with quality of service (QoS), which is defined based on prediction model to perform the allocation of resources in advance. In this work, the model is used to determine the future workload prediction for user requests on web servers, and its impact toward achieving efficient resource provisioning in terms of resource exploitation and QoS. The main contribution of this paper is to develop the prediction model for efficient and dynamic resource provisioning to meet the requirements of end users.
Management of context aware software resources deployed in a cloud environmen...ijdpsjournal
In cloud computing environments, context information is continuously created by context providers and
consumed by the applications on mobile devices. An important characteristic of cloud-based context aware
services is meeting the service level agreements (SLAs) to deliver a certain quality of service (Qos), such as
guarantees on response time or price. The response time to a request of context-aware software is affected
by loading extensive context data from multiple resources on the chosen server. Therefore, the speed of
such software would be decreased during execution time. Hence, proper scheduling of such services is
indispensable because the customers are faced with time constraints. In this research, a new scheduling
algorithm for context aware services is proposed which is based on classifying similar context consumers
and dynamically scoring the requests to improve the performance of the server hosting highly-requested
context-aware software while reducing costs of cloud provider. The approach is evaluated via simulation
and comparison with gi-FIFO scheduling algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the
proposed approach.
An efficient resource sharing technique for multi-tenant databases IJECEIAES
Multi-tenancy is a key component of Software as a Service (SaaS) paradigm. Multi-tenant software has gained a lot of attention in academics, research and business arena. They provide scalability and economic benefits for both cloud service providers and tenants by sharing same resources and infrastructure in isolation of shared databases, network and computing resources with Service level agreement (SLA) compliances. In a multitenant scenario, active tenants compete for resources in order to access the database. If one tenant blocks up the resources, the performance of all the other tenants may be restricted and a fair sharing of the resources may be compromised. The performance of tenants must not be affected by resource-intensive activities and volatile workloads of other tenants. Moreover, the prime goal of providers is to accomplish low cost of operation, satisfying specific schemas/SLAs of each tenant. Consequently, there is a need to design and develop effective and dynamic resource sharing algorithms which can handle above mentioned issues. This work presents a model referred as MultiTenant Dynamic Resource Scheduling Model (MTDRSM) embracing a query classification and worker sorting technique enabling efficient and dynamic resource sharing among tenants. The experiments show significant performance improvement over existing model.

So here present system that provides automatic scaling for web application in cloud environment. So every application instance encapsulated inside virtual machine and model it as the Class Constraint Bin Packing (CCBP) problem. Where each class represents an application and each server is a bin and uses virtualization technology for fault isolation. Now many business customers need good satisfy response services from cloud. So design and develop semi online color set algorithm that achieve good demand satisfaction ratio and as well as when load becomes low it reducing number of server and save energy. Experiment results compare open source implementation of Amazon EC2 demonstrates that system can improve the throughput by 180% over. And system can restore the normal quality of service five times as fast when huge crowd happens. Take supports of green computing to adjusting the placement of application instance adaptively and putting ideal machine into the standby mode. Optimum Resource Allocation using Specification Matching and Priority Based M...rahulmonikasharma
Cloud computing is summed up as a different model for allowing favorable, network as per demand to use shared devices of computational resources which are collected and then released with marginal management effort or interaction with any client or any service provider. Cloud computing is a well-known technology in the pasture of information technology that provides computing as a service. In cloud computing environment the resources are provisioned on the basis of demand, as and when required. A large number of cloud users can request a number of cloud services at the same time. Due to increase in the usage of cloud computing there is a need for a efficient and effective resource allocation algorithm which can be used for proper usage of the resources and also check that the resource is not wastage. In this we propose a priority based resource allocation algorithm which can be used for proper allocation of resources and also the resources are allocated efficiently and effectively. In this paper, two strategies are proposed for the purpose of optimum resource allocation in which the first approach uses the concept of specification matching and second uses the concept of priority based approach. In the first approach, different types of resources (virtual machine) are allocated by taking three parameters into consideration: processing element, main memory, and network bandwidth. In the second approach, one parameter is considered namely: Priority. In both strategies, users are allowed to submit the parameters during cloudlet submission. The user inserted parameters will then be considered while allocating resources to them. The objectives of this research are to improve utilization of resources and reduce the request loss.
PROPOSED ONTOLOGY FRAMEWORK FOR DYNAMIC RESOURCE PROVISIONING ON PUBLIC CLOUDIAEME Publication
Cloud computing is an essential ingredient of today’s modern information technology. Cloud computing is totally based on internet. With the use of cloud computing resources can be shared from anywhere and anytime. In cloud computing there are multiple users simultaneously requests for the number of services and its important to provision all resources to user in efficient manner to satisfy their requirements. To come out this problem in this paper we had reviwed the different types of resource allocation strategies and proposed an ontology based resource management framwork for dynamic resource allocation. Ontology Framework contain four sections, each section equipped with functionality to collect information regarding all resources available in actual cloud deployment based on signed SLA agreement, and then replies to the user with appropriate allocation.
A Prolific Scheme for Load Balancing Relying on Task Completion Time IJECEIAES
In networks with lot of computation, load balancing gains increasing significance. To offer various resources, services and applications, the ultimate aim is to facilitate the sharing of services and resources on the network over the Internet. A key issue to be focused and addressed in networks with large amount of computation is load balancing. Load is the number of tasks„t‟ performed by a computation system. The load can be categorized as network load and CPU load. For an efficient load balancing strategy, the process of assigning the load between the nodes should enhance the resource utilization and minimize the computation time. This can be accomplished by a uniform distribution of load of to all the nodes. A Load balancing method should guarantee that, each node in a network performs almost equal amount of work pertinent to their capacity and availability of resources. Relying on task subtraction, this work has presented a pioneering algorithm termed as E-TS (Efficient-Task Subtraction). This algorithm has selected appropriate nodes for each task. The proposed algorithm has improved the utilization of computing resources and has preserved the neutrality in assigning the load to the nodes in the network.
Dynamic congestion management system for cloud service brokerIJECEIAES
The cloud computing model offers a shared pool of resources and services with diverse models presented to the clients through the internet by an on-demand scalable and dynamic pay-per-use model. The developers have identified the need for an automated system (cloud service broker (CSB)) that can contribute to exploiting the cloud capability, enhancing its functionality, and improving its performance. This research presents a dynamic congestion management (DCM) system which can manage the massive amount of cloud requests while considering the required quality for the clients’ requirements as regulated by the service-level policy. In addition, this research introduces a forwarding policy that can be utilized to choose high-priority calls coming from the cloud service requesters and passes them by the broker to the suitable cloud resources. The policy has made use of one of the mechanisms that are used by Cisco to assist the administration of the congestion that might take place at the broker side. Furthermore, the DCM system is used to help in provisioning and monitoring the works of the cloud providers through the job operation. The proposed DCM system was implemented and evaluated by using the CloudSim tool.
Mechanical properties of hybrid fiber reinforced concrete for pavementseSAT Journals
Abstract
The effect of addition of mono fibers and hybrid fibers on the mechanical properties of concrete mixture is studied in the present
investigation. Steel fibers of 1% and polypropylene fibers 0.036% were added individually to the concrete mixture as mono fibers and
then they were added together to form a hybrid fiber reinforced concrete. Mechanical properties such as compressive, split tensile and
flexural strength were determined. The results show that hybrid fibers improve the compressive strength marginally as compared to
mono fibers. Whereas, hybridization improves split tensile strength and flexural strength noticeably.

Abstract
The objective of the present study is to understand about all the problems occurring in the company because of improper application
of material management. In construction project operation, often there is a project cost variance in terms of the material, equipments,
manpower, subcontractor, overhead cost, and general condition. Material is the main component in construction projects. Therefore,
if the material management is not properly managed it will create a project cost variance. Project cost can be controlled by taking
corrective actions towards the cost variance. Therefore a methodology is used to diagnose and evaluate the procurement process
involved in material management and launch a continuous improvement was developed and applied. A thorough study was carried
out along with study of cases, surveys and interviews to professionals involved in this area. As a result, a methodology for diagnosis
and improvement was proposed and tested in selected projects. The results obtained show that the main problem of procurement is
related to schedule delays and lack of specified quality for the project. To prevent this situation it is often necessary to dedicate
important resources like money, personnel, time, etc. To monitor and control the process. A great potential for improvement was
detected if state of the art technologies such as, electronic mail, electronic data interchange (EDI), and analysis were applied to the
procurement process. These helped to eliminate the root causes for many types of problems that were detected.
Managing drought short term strategies in semi arid regions a case studyeSAT Journals

Drought management needs multidisciplinary action. Interdisciplinary efforts among the experts in various fields of the droughts
prone areas are helpful to achieve tangible and permanent solution for this recurring problem. The Gulbarga district having the total
area around 16, 240 sq.km, and accounts 8.45 per cent of the Karnataka state area. The district has been situated with latitude 17º 19'
60" North and longitude of 76 º 49' 60" east. The district is situated entirely on the Deccan plateau positioned at a height of 300 to
750 m above MSL. Sub-tropical, semi-arid type is one among the drought prone districts of Karnataka State. The drought
management is very important for a district like Gulbarga. In this paper various short term strategies are discussed to mitigate the
drought condition in the district.

Life cycle cost analysis of overlay for an urban road in bangaloreeSAT Journals
Abstract
Pavements are subjected to severe condition of stresses and weathering effects from the day they are constructed and opened to traffic
mainly due to its fatigue behavior and environmental effects. Therefore, pavement rehabilitation is one of the most important
components of entire road systems. This paper highlights the design of concrete pavement with added mono fibers like polypropylene,
steel and hybrid fibres for a widened portion of existing concrete pavement and various overlay alternatives for an existing
bituminous pavement in an urban road in Bangalore. Along with this, Life cycle cost analyses at these sections are done by Net
Present Value (NPV) method to identify the most feasible option. The results show that though the initial cost of construction of
concrete overlay is high, over a period of time it prove to be better than the bituminous overlay considering the whole life cycle cost.
The economic analysis also indicates that, out of the three fibre options, hybrid reinforced concrete would be economical without
compromising the performance of the pavement.

Laboratory studies of dense bituminous mixes ii with reclaimed asphalt materialseSAT Journals
Abstract
The issue of growing demand on our nation’s roadways over that past couple of decades, decreasing budgetary funds, and the need to
provide a safe, efficient, and cost effective roadway system has led to a dramatic increase in the need to rehabilitate our existing
pavements and the issue of building sustainable road infrastructure in India. With these emergency of the mentioned needs and this
are today’s burning issue and has become the purpose of the study.
In the present study, the samples of existing bituminous layer materials were collected from NH-48(Devahalli to Hassan) site.The
mixtures were designed by Marshall Method as per Asphalt institute (MS-II) at 20% and 30% Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP).
RAP material was blended with virgin aggregate such that all specimens tested for the, Dense Bituminous Macadam-II (DBM-II)
gradation as per Ministry of Roads, Transport, and Highways (MoRT&H) and cost analysis were carried out to know the economics.
Laboratory results and analysis showed the use of recycled materials showed significant variability in Marshall Stability, and the
variability increased with the increase in RAP content. The saving can be realized from utilization of recycled materials as per the
methodology, the reduction in the total cost is 19%, 30%, comparing with the virgin mixes.

Laboratory investigation of expansive soil stabilized with natural inorganic ...eSAT Journals
Abstract
Soil stabilization has proven to be one of the oldest techniques to improve the soil properties. Literature review conducted revealed
that uses of natural inorganic stabilizers are found to be one of the best options for soil stabilization. In this regard an attempt has
been made to evaluate the influence of RBI-81 stabilizer on properties of black cotton soil through laboratory investigations. Black
cotton soil with varying percentages of RBI-81 viz., 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5 percent were studied for moisture density relationships
and strength behaviour of soils. Also the effect of curing period was evaluated as literature review clearly emphasized the strength
gain of soils stabilized with RBI-81 over a period of time. The results obtained shows that the unconfined compressive strength of
specimens treated with RBI-81 increased approximately by 250% for a curing period of 28 days as compared to virgin soil. Further
the CBR value improved approximately by 400%. The studies indicated an increasing trend for soil strength behaviour with
increasing percentage of RBI-81 suggesting its potential applications in soil stabilization.
Influence of reinforcement on the behavior of hollow concrete block masonry p...eSAT Journals
Abstract
Reinforced masonry was developed to exploit the strength potential of masonry and to solve its lack of tensile strength. Experimental
and analytical studies have been carried out to investigate the effect of reinforcement on the behavior of hollow concrete block
masonry prisms under compression and to predict ultimate failure compressive strength. In the numerical program, three dimensional
non-linear finite elements (FE) model based on the micro-modeling approach is developed for both unreinforced and reinforced
masonry prisms using ANSYS (14.5). The proposed FE model uses multi-linear stress-strain relationships to model the non-linear
behavior of hollow concrete block, mortar, and grout. Willam-Warnke’s five parameter failure theory has been adopted to model the
failure of masonry materials. The comparison of the numerical and experimental results indicates that the FE models can successfully
capture the highly nonlinear behavior of the physical specimens and accurately predict their strength and failure mechanisms.

Influence of compaction energy on soil stabilized with chemical stabilizereSAT Journals
Abstract
Increase in traffic along with heavier magnitude of wheel loads cause rapid deterioration in pavements. There is a need to improve
density, strength of soil subgrade and other pavement layers. In this study an attempt is made to improve the properties of locally
available loamy soil using twin approaches viz., i) increasing the compaction of soil and ii) treating the soil with chemical stabilizer.
Laboratory studies are carried out on both untreated and treated soil samples compacted by different compaction efforts. Studies
show that increase in compaction effort results in increase in density of soil. However in soil treated with chemical stabilizer, rate of
increase in density is not significant. The soil treated with chemical stabilizer exhibits improvement in both strength and performance
properties.

in all these projects there is seldom proper coordination which is essential for ensuring collective sustainability.
Integrated watershed development and management is the accepted answer but in turn requires a comprehensive framework that can
enable planning process involving all the stakeholders at different levels and scales is compulsory. Such a unified hydrological
framework is essential to evaluate the cause and effect of all the proposed actions within the drainage basins.
The present paper describes a hydrological framework developed in the form of a Hydrologic Information System (HIS) which is
intended to meet the specific information needs of the various line departments of a typical State connected with water related aspects.
The HIS consist of a hydrologic information database coupled with tools for collating primary and secondary data and tools for
analyzing and visualizing the data and information. The HIS also incorporates hydrological model base for indirect assessment of
various entities of water balance in space and time. The framework would be maintained and updated to reflect fully the most
accurate ground truth data and the infrastructure requirements for planning and management.

Abstract
The study demonstrate the potentiality of satellite remote sensing technique for the generation of baseline information on forest types
including tree plantation details in Bidar forest division, Karnataka covering an area of 5814.60Sq.Kms. The Total Area of Bidar
forest division is 5814Sq.Kms analysis of the satellite data in the study area reveals that about 84% of the total area is Covered by
crop land, 1.778% of the area is covered by dry deciduous forest, 1.38 % of mixed plantation, which is very threatening to the
environmental stability of the forest, future plantation site has been mapped. With the use of latest Geo-informatics technology proper
and exact condition of the trees can be observed and necessary precautions can be taken for future plantation works in an appropriate
manner

Factors influencing compressive strength of geopolymer concreteeSAT Journals
Abstract
To study effects of several factors on the properties of fly ash based geopolymer concrete on the compressive strength and also the
cost comparison with the normal concrete. The test variables were molarities of sodium hydroxide(NaOH) 8M,14M and 16M, ratio of
NaOH to sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5, alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio 0.35 and 0.40 and replacement of water in
Na2SiO3 solution by 10%, 20% and 30% were used in the present study. The test results indicated that the highest compressive
strength 54 MPa was observed for 16M of NaOH, ratio of NaOH to Na2SiO3 2.5 and alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio of 0.35. Lowest
compressive strength of 27 MPa was observed for 8M of NaOH, ratio of NaOH to Na2SiO3 is 1 and alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio of
0.40. Alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio of 0.35, water replacement of 10% and 30% for 8 and 16 molarity of NaOH and has resulted in
compressive strength of 36 MPa and 20 MPa respectively. Superplasticiser dosage of 2 % by weight of fly ash has given higher
strength in all cases.

Abstract
Composite Circular hollow Steel tubes with and without GFRP infill for three different grades of Light weight concrete are tested for
ultimate load capacity and axial shortening , under Cyclic loading. Steel tubes are compared for different lengths, cross sections and
thickness. Specimens were tested separately after adopting Taguchi’s L9 (Latin Squares) Orthogonal array in order to save the initial
experimental cost on number of specimens and experimental duration. Analysis was carried out using ANN (Artificial Neural
Network) technique with the assistance of Mini Tab- a statistical soft tool. Comparison for predicted, experimental & ANN output is
obtained from linear regression plots. From this research study, it can be concluded that *Cross sectional area of steel tube has most
significant effect on ultimate load carrying capacity, *as length of steel tube increased- load carrying capacity decreased & *ANN
modeling predicted acceptable results. Thus ANN tool can be utilized for predicting ultimate load carrying capacity for composite
columns.

This paper presents an outlook on experimental behavior and a comparison with predicted formula on the behaviour of circular
concentrically loaded self-consolidating fibre reinforced concrete filled steel tube columns (HSSCFRC). Forty-five specimens were
tested. The main parameters varied in the tests are: (1) percentage of fiber (2) tube diameter or width to wall thickness ratio (D/t
from 15 to 25) (3) L/d ratio from 2.97 to 7.04 the results from these predictions were compared with the experimental data. The
experimental results) were also validated in this study.

Evaluation of punching shear in flat slabseSAT Journals
Abstract
Flat-slab construction has been widely used in construction today because of many advantages that it offers. The basic philosophy in
the design of flat slab is to consider only gravity forces; this method ignores the effect of punching shear due to unbalanced moments
at the slab column junction which is critical. An attempt has been made to generate generalized design sheets which accounts both
punching shear due to gravity loads and unbalanced moments for cases (a) interior column; (b) edge column (bending perpendicular
to shorter edge); (c) edge column (bending parallel to shorter edge); (d) corner column. These design sheets are prepared as per
codal provisions of IS 456-2000. These design sheets will be helpful in calculating the shear reinforcement to be provided at the
critical section which is ignored in many design offices. Apart from its usefulness in evaluating punching shear and the necessary
shear reinforcement, the design sheets developed will enable the designer to fix the depth of flat slab during the initial phase of the
design.

Efficiency of the road network system is analyzed by travel time reliability measures. The study overlooks on an important measure of
travel time reliability and prioritizing Tiruchirappalli road network. Traffic volume and travel time were collected using license plate
matching method. Travel time measures were estimated from average travel time and 95th travel time. Effect of non-motorized vehicle
on efficiency of road system was evaluated. Relation between buffer time index and traffic volume was created. Travel time model has
been developed and travel time measure was validated. Then service quality of road sections in network were graded based on
travel time reliability measures.

Estimation of surface runoff in nallur amanikere watershed using scs cn methodeSAT Journals
Abstract
The development of watershed aims at productive utilization of all the available natural resources in the entire area extending from
ridge line to stream outlet. The per capita availability of land for cultivation has been decreasing over the years. Therefore, water and
the related land resources must be developed, utilized and managed in an integrated and comprehensive manner. Remote sensing and
GIS techniques are being increasingly used for planning, management and development of natural resources. The study area, Nallur
Amanikere watershed geographically lies between 110 38’ and 110 52’ N latitude and 760 30’ and 760 50’ E longitude with an area of
415.68 Sq. km. The thematic layers such as land use/land cover and soil maps were derived from remotely sensed data and overlayed
through ArcGIS software to assign the curve number on polygon wise. The daily rainfall data of six rain gauge stations in and around
the watershed (2001-2011) was used to estimate the daily runoff from the watershed using Soil Conservation Service - Curve Number
(SCS-CN) method. The runoff estimated from the SCS-CN model was then used to know the variation of runoff potential with different
land use/land cover and with different soil conditions.

Abstract
Land and water are the two vital natural resources, the optimal management of these resources with minimum adverse environmental
impact are essential not only for sustainable development but also for human survival. Satellite remote sensing with geographic
information system has a pragmatic approach to map and generate spatial input layers of predicting response behavior and yield of
watershed. Hence, in the present study an attempt has been made to understand the hydrological process of the catchment at the
watershed level by drawing the inferences from moprhometric analysis and runoff. The study area chosen for the present study is
Yagachi catchment situated in Chickamaglur and Hassan district lies geographically at a longitude 75⁰52’08.77”E and
13⁰10’50.77”N latitude. It covers an area of 559.493 Sq.km. Morphometric analysis is carried out to estimate morphometric
parameters at Micro-watershed to understand the hydrological response of the catchment at the Micro-watershed level. Daily runoff
is estimated using USDA SCS curve number model for a period of 10 years from 2001 to 2010. The rainfall runoff relationship of the
study shows there is a positive correlation.

Abstract The nonlinear Static procedure also well known as pushover analysis is method where in monotonically increasing loads are applied to the structure till the structure is unable to resist any further load. It is a popular tool for seismic performance evaluation of existing and new structures. In literature lot of research has been carried out on conventional pushover analysis and after knowing deficiency efforts have been made to improve it. But actual test results to verify the analytically obtained pushover results are rarely available. It has been found that some amount of variation is always expected to exist in seismic demand prediction of pushover analysis. Initial study is carried out by considering user defined hinge properties and default hinge length. Attempt is being made to assess the variation of pushover analysis results by considering user defined hinge properties and various hinge length formulations available in literature and results compared with experimentally obtained results based on test carried out on a G+2 storied RCC framed structure. For the present study two geometric models viz bare frame and rigid frame model is considered and it is found that the results of pushover analysis are very sensitive to geometric model and hinge length adopted. Abstract
Depletion of natural resources and aggregate quarries for the road construction is a serious problem to procure materials. Hence
recycling or reuse of material is beneficial. On emphasizing development in sustainable construction in the present era, recycling of
asphalt pavements is one of the effective and proven rehabilitation processes. For the laboratory investigations reclaimed asphalt
pavement (RAP) from NH-4 and crumb rubber modified binder (CRMB-55) was used. Foundry waste was used as a replacement to
conventional filler. Laboratory tests were conducted on asphalt concrete mixes with 30, 40, 50, and 60 percent replacement with RAP.
These test results were compared with conventional mixes and asphalt concrete mixes with complete binder extracted RAP
aggregates. Mix design was carried out by Marshall Method. The Marshall Tests indicated highest stability values for asphalt
concrete (AC) mixes with 60% RAP. The optimum binder content (OBC) decreased with increased in RAP in AC mixes. The Indirect
Tensile Strength (ITS) for AC mixes with RAP also was found to be higher when compared to conventional AC mixes at 300C.

their need. Resource allocation is based on quality of service and service level agreement. In cloud computing environment, to
allocate resources to the user there are several methods but provider should consider the efficient way to guarantee that the
applications’ requirements are attended to correctly and satisfy the user’s need This paper survey different resource allocation

1. INTRODUCTION
Cloud Computing is a technology that uses the internet and
central remote servers to maintain data and applications.
Cloud computing allows consumers and businesses to use
applications without installation and access their personal files
at any computer with internet access. This technology allows
for much more efficient computing by centralizing data
storage, processing and bandwidth.
Cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous,
convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of
configurable computing resources e.g., networks, servers,
storage, applications, and services that can be rapidly
provisioned and released with minimal management effort or
service provider interaction.
Cloud computing customers do not own the physical
infrastructure; rather they rent the usage from a third party
provider. They consume resources as a service and pay only
for resources that they use.
Cloud computing provide three types of services[7], including
software as a service (SaaS),platform as a service (PaaS) and
infrastructure as a service (IaaS). In Software as a service
consumers purchase the ability to access and use an
application or service that is hosted in the cloud. A benchmark
example of this is Salesforce.com, as discussed previously,
where necessary information for the interaction between the
consumer and the service is hosted as part of the service in the
cloud. In Platform as a service Consumers purchase access to
the platforms, enabling them to deploy their own software and
applications in the cloud. The operating systems and network
access are not managed by the consumer, and there might be
constraints as to which applications can be deployed. In
Infrastructure as a service Consumers control and manage the
systems in terms of the operating systems, applications,
storage, and network connectivity, but do not themselves
control the cloud infrastructure.
Resource Allocation
Resource allocation [8] is a subject that has been addressed in
many computing areas, such as operating systems, grid
computing and datacenter management. A Resource
Allocation System (RAS) in Cloud Computing can be seen as
any mechanism that aims to guarantee that the applications’
requirements are attended to correctly by the provider’s
infrastructure. Along with this guarantee to the developer,
resource allocation mechanisms should also consider the
current status of each resource in the Cloud environment, in
order to apply algorithms to better allocate physical and/or
virtual resources to developers’ applications, thus minimizing
the operational cost of the cloud environment.
Cloud resources can be seen as any resource (physical or
virtual) that developers may request from the Cloud. For
example, developers can have network requirements, such as
bandwidth and delay, and computational requirements, such as
CPU, memory and storage. Generally, resources are located in
a datacenter that is shared by multiple clients, and should be
dynamically assigned and adjusted according to demand. It is
important to note that the clients and developers may see those
finite resources as unlimited and the tool that will make this
possible is the RAS. The RAS should deal with these
unpredictable requests in an elastic and transparent way. This

elasticity should allow the dynamic use of physical resources,
thus avoiding both the under-provisioning and over-
provisioning of resources.
There are different resource allocation policies that are used in
cloud computing environment. Each of this policy uses certain
methods and algorithms which are given below:
2. DIFFERENT RESOURCE ALLOCATION
POLICIES
A time-driven adaptive mechanism for cloud resource
allocation [1]
Cloud computing service providers deliver their resources
based on virtualization to satisfy the demands of users. In
cloud computing, the amount of resources required can vary
per user request. Therefore, the providers have to offer
different amounts of virtualized resources per request. To
provide worldwide service, a provider may have data centers
that are geographically distributed throughout the world.
Likewise, the user locations vary in geographic location. Since
cloud computing services are delivered over the internet, there
may be undesirable response latency between the users and the
data centers. Hence, for the best service, the provider needs to
find a data center and physical machine that has a light
workload and is geographically close to the user. The
proposed model finds the best match for the user requests
based on two evaluations: 1) the geographical distances
between the user and data centers and 2) the workload of data
centers. Hence, the model allows the users to find a data center
that is guaranteed to be the closest distance and have the
lightest workload. Also, it finds a light workload physical
machine within the data center for a provider.
Multi-dimensional SLA-based Resource Allocation for
Multi-tier Cloud Computing Systems [2]
Resource allocation is the most important challenges in cloud
computing. The service provider should work hard for
allocating resources based on the client’s SLA (Service Level
Agreement).Force directed search algorithm is the solution for
SLA based resource allocation problem for multi-tier
applications in cloud computing .This algorithm considers the
Gold SLA, and Bronze SLA. The provider gives the guarantee
for the response time in Gold SLA. The requests are moved
forward and backward in multi-tier service model. The server
serves the backward requests. Probability Distribution
Function (PDF) is used for finding the arrival rate in the Gold
SLA. The resource management problem’s aim is to maximize
the total profit. The profit maximization problem has these
steps. It performs the summation of client’s utilities. It
calculates the operation cost of the services. This problem
does the multiplication the total power consumed during the
decision making time. It selects only one tier for servers. It
finds the ON servers. It calculates the allocated memory for
clients. The profit maximum problem is solved using upper
bound on the total profit. The force between clients and
servers are the major factor in the resource consolidation using
force directed search algorithm. This algorithm takes a client
based on the highest force towards a new server. It performs
the load replacement, if the server is available. The algorithm
performs the updating of forces between the clients and
servers. If there is no positive force differential, then the
algorithm stops its working. The algorithm saves the best
solution in each step.
Multi-dimensional Resource Allocation Algorithm in
cloud Computing [3]
Cloud computing has emerged as a new technology and it has
been increasingly adopted in many areas including science and
engineering as well as business. How to arrange large-scale
jobs submitted to cloud in order to optimize resource
allocation and reduce cost is an issue of common concern.
Paper present are two common ways to optimize resource
utilization. One is at the application level when applications
are arriving, other is in the period of applications running. In
this paper, author makes effort on the former way to address
multi-dimensional resource allocation problem by proposing a
resource allocation scheme using fewer nodes to process
user’s applications. To address multi-dimensional resource
allocation problem, raises several concerns. Firstly, allocate
method should decide which virtual machines should be
assigned with a new set of jobs. Secondly, there exists an
optimal set of nodes which can process new arriving
applications, how to find an efficient way to assign
applications in nodes is another issue should be solved. In
response to these issues, we use virtual machine as the
minimum resource allocation unit. When a new batch of
applications arrives, applications is decompose into several
types of jobs, each job with the same type has the same
requirement of resource. Aiming at the first issue mentioned
above, author formulate it by adding multi-dimensional
constraints in resource allocation process, which assure jobs
can be processed in nodes selected by object function. Aiming
at the second problem, under the purpose of optimize utility of
nodes, this nodes select problem as a binary integer
programming problem, and our object function can assure
using working nodes’ remain resources to process more jobs.
Unlike the existing resource allocation schemes which allocate
more physical resources (CPU, memory, etc.) to the exiting
virtual machine, this model assign jobs in running nodes to
make nodes work at a higher utilization.

SLA-based Resource Allocation for Software as a
Service Provider (SaaS) in Cloud Computing
Environments [4]
SaaS is a software delivery method that provides access to
software and its functions remotely as a Web-based service. It
allows organizations to access business functionality at a cost
typically less than paying for licensed applications since SaaS
pricing is based on a monthly fee. In order to deliver hosted
services to customers, SaaS companies have to either maintain
their own hardware or rent it from infrastructure providers.
This requirement means that SaaS providers will incur extra
costs. Though the cost of the resources has to be minimum, it
is also important to satisfy a minimum service level to
customers. Saas providers are able to manage the variety of
customers, mapping customer requests to infrastructure level
parameters and considering heterogeneity of Virtual
Machines. The allocation method uses two different
algorithms such as Prof min Vm Max AvaiSpace and
ProfminVmMinAvaiSpace. First algorithm is designed to
minimize the number of VMs by utilizing already initiated
VMs. The criterion for reusing VMis, it should have
maximum available space. The algorithm optimizes the profit
by minimizing number of initiated VM. Moreover, it
minimizes number of violations caused by service upgrade
because VM hasthe maximum available space. In such a way,
it reduces the penalty caused by upgrading service. The
disadvantage of this algorithm is that it can decrease the profit.
The maximum available space is occupied by small number of
accounts and it leading other requests to be served by a new
VM. To overcome the disadvantages of this algorithm,
reducing the space wastage by using minimum available
space(MinAvaiSpace) Strategy instead of MaxAvaiSpace
Strategy. When there are more than one VM with same type,
deployed with the same product type as customer request
required, the VMs with enough available space to serve are
selected. Then request is scheduled to the machine with the
minimum available space in a best-fit manner). The proposed
algorithms minimize the SaaS provider’s cost and the number
of SLA violations based on the dynamic allocation of
resources to requests.
Adaptive Resource Allocation for Pre-empt able Jobs
in Cloud Systems [5]
In this paper authors propose an adaptive resource allocation
algorithm for the cloud system with preempt able tasks in
which algorithms adjust the resource allocation adaptively
based on the updated of the actual task executions. Adaptive
list scheduling (ALS) and adaptive min-min scheduling
(AMMS) algorithms are use for task scheduling which
includes static task scheduling, for static resource allocation, is
generated offline. The online adaptive procedure is use for re-
evaluating the remaining static resource allocation repeatedly
with predefined frequency. In each reevaluation process, the
schedulers are re-calculating the finish time of their respective
submitted tasks, not the tasks that are assign to that cloud.
Policy based resource allocation in IaaS cloud [6]Most of the
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) clouds use simple resource
allocation policies like immediate and best effort. Immediate
allocation policy allocates there sources if available, otherwise
the request is rejected. Best-effort policy also allocates the
requested resources if available otherwise the request is placed
in a FIFO queue. It is not possible for a cloud provider to
satisfy all the requests due to finite resources at a time. Haizea
is are source lease manager that tries to address these issues by
introducing complex resource allocation policies. Haizea uses
resource leases as resource allocation abstraction and
implements these leases by allocating Virtual Machines
(VMs). Haizea supports four kinds of resource allocation
policies: immediate, best effort, advanced reservation and
deadline sensitive. Proposed dynamic planning based
scheduling algorithm is implemented in Haizea that can admit
new leases and prepare the schedule whenever a new lease can
be accommodated. Experiments results show that it maximizes
resource utilization and acceptance of leases compared to the
existing algorithm of Haizea.

CONCLUSION
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a service
rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software and
information are provided to users over the network. It is anon
demand service because it offers dynamic flexible resource
allocation for reliable and guaranteed services in pay as-you-
use manner to public. This paper discusses various resource
allocation policies based on service level agreement and
quality of service. All above methods used different
techniques for allocating resource to the user. Time driven
gives better response time and increase resource utilization.
Multidimensional SLA based algorithm save resources and
increase resource utilization. Multidimensional algorithm
increase resource utilization and reduce cost of data center.
SLA-based policy minimizes the sass provider’s cost and the
number of SLA violations. Adaptive resource allocation
policy increase resource utilization. Policy based resource
allocation maximize resource utilization.
