On average, each person in the UK throws away their own body weight in rubbish every seven weeks. Recycling reduces energy usage and environmental impact compared to producing goods from raw materials, yet much of what could be recycled is still thrown away, like 30 million inkjet cartridges per year in the UK alone. Composting is one form of recycling everyone can do at home to reduce waste.
