THE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
(BY MOHAMMED AMMAR AHMED)
9 A2
THE CONNECTIVE TISSUE its binds
tissues and organs giving them proper
structure
It has three main characteristics
Prosperity of intercelluar substance
called matrix
Very few cellluar elements
Very few celluar fibres

TISSUE
AREOLAR ADIPOSE FIBROUS
CARTILAGE
BONE
LYMPH
BLOOD
LIGAMENT TENDON
It is present under the skin and supports the
epithelium
They are also found in, around the mucous
membranes, surrounding nerves, blood
vessels and various other body organs.
It makes the skin elastic
AREOLAR
Adipose tissue is primarily located beneath the
skin, but is also found around internal organs.
It has special cells which act as a fuel tank to
store fats(lipids and triglycerides).adipocytes
Other than skin its is found around kidney
eyeball etc.
Its is found in last layer of skin called hypodermis
to provide insulation and conserve body heat
ADIPOSE
It is composed of elongated cells called fibres
They are strong and bundled together by
areolar tissue
They forThe primary purpose of fibrous
connective tissue is to provide support and
shock absorption to our bones and organ
They form the ligaments and tendons
FIBROUS
Cartilage cushions all the joints, allows gliding
movement, and reduces friction between bones
It has a intercelluar material (matrix).
Its is semi transparent and elastic
Its is found in your tip of nose, ear, trachea and
bronchial tubes, between vertebrae, and end of
long bones
CARTILAGE
It is hard porous and consists of living cells called
osteoblasts and a rigid mass of inorganic salts
Unlike the cartilage it has a good supply of blood
vessels and nerves
It provides support and structure to the body
It protects various important organs such as heart,
brain, lungs etc
BONE
Its is composed of plasma,RBC,WBC and
platelets
Blood is a fluid that transports oxygen and
nutrients to the cells and carries away carbon
dioxide and other waste products
It is pumped by the heart to all parts of the
body, after which it is returned to the heart
to repeat the process.
BLOOD
Its is fluid around body cells
It is the plasma which has come out of the blood
vessels
It has only WBC and RBCs are absent
Lymph acts to remove bacteria and other
particles. It also maintains fluid balance.
Lymph carries digested and absorbed fat from
intestine and drains excess fluid from extracellular
space back into blood
Lymph
