According to the survey report of WHO 2012 World Health Statistics , a third of the world s adults

Christmas Cookie Research Paper
History of the Christmas Cookie
Before Christmas brought its traditions into the world, ancient cooks baked sweets for different
occasions. In the Middle Ages, Europeans started cooking cookies for Christmas. Christmas cookies
were defined by cut outs and molds brought over to Europe by the Dutch. The first American
Christmas cookie is documented by Amelia Simmons, who wrote American Cookery. The very first
cookey had flour, coriander seed, butter, sugar, pearlash and milk. A far cry from what Americans have
come to know and love as the Christmas Cookie.
By 1924, the ingredients had started to change to what Americans know as butter, eggs, sugar, flour
and milk. In most cases, nuts were added into the mixture to bring in a Bohemian fill ... Show more

completely blended. Stir in flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Cover and put into refrigerater for

half to 3/16 inch thick.
Preheat over to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the cookies with the cookie cutters and lay onto a non
stick cookie sheet. While the cookies are baking for 7 to 8 minutes, make the frosting. Beat powdered
sugar, vanilla and milk together until the ingredients become smooth, not runny. Once cookies are
done, decorate with frosting, springs and sugars.
Conclusion
Although cookies have developed from ancient times, the tradition is still in place. People love to
cook cookies and share a well honed recipe with a friend. Today, bakers can find recipes all over the

Geography Of Canada Essay
Geography
The geography of Canada describes the geographic features of Canada, the world #39;s
second largest country in total area.
Situated in northern North America (constituting 41% of the continent #39;s area), Canada
spans a vast, diverse territory between the North Pacific Ocean to the west and
the North Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Arctic Ocean to the north (hence the
country #39;s motto quot; From sea to sea quot;), with the United States to the south (contiguous
United States) and northwest (Alaska). Greenland is to the northeast; off the southern
coast of Newfoundland lies Saint Pierre and Miquelon, an overseas collectivity of
France. Since 1925, Canada has claimed the portion of the Arctic between 60°W and

Sql Injection Paper
SQL Injection
Recently, Aim Higher College has seen several cases of sensitive information being stolen from a
student information system and posted on the Web. After reviewing Web server and database logs, you
believe that the source of the problem is a SQL injection vulnerability. The vulnerability appears to
exist in a Web application used by students to register for courses. SQL injection is a technique where
malicious users inject SQL commands into an SQL statement, via web page input. Injected SQL
commands can alter SQL statement and compromise the security of a web application. SQL injection
is one of the oldest, most prevalent and dangerous of web application vulnerability. I believe attackers
could steal information by following methods. Most web pages have users or given user id to login,
and original idea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some web developers use blacklist of words and characters, but some words like delete and
semicolons should be allowed in many types of input. I think the best way to prevent is combination
of protection. I would recommend to use SQL parameters. SQL parameters are values that are added
to an SQL query at execution time, in a controlled manner. I would use patches and updates in
exploited database and application as soon as possible. The firewall should be in place to help to filter
out malicious data. Adding new rules regarding SQL injections to firewall will help to detect and
patch. Also, use appropriate privileges and keep password hash and encrypted. Password should be
change regularly, which overlook most of the time. In addition, I would not display a lot information
about database architecture from error messages and use the Remote Only custom Errors mode, so
external hacker will not get any additional information. After all, SQL injection is most popular tool
for hackers to obtain and manipulate data, because it is easy to use. However, combination of the
protections can keep secure and monitor

Freud s Trust Vs. Miss Trust Theory
Half of the infants in the United States today have employed mothers, twice the proportion that there
were in 1970. Studies on the affect of mothers going back to work have been varied and have thus for
lead to interpretations of the results. The mothers and infants relationship has a central part in a lot of
theories on an infants trust development. Freud s trust vs. miss trust theory is an example of this.
Infants must learn to trust their caregivers to meet their needs. Responsive parenting is critical. (Pg 38,
Life span and development, Text book). Freud theory focused on the importance of the individuals
early experience with the family. He believed that an infant s early experience went on to contribute to
the individual s adult personality. The following studies data is based of a one time assessment
session. This research found by (refecence 3) has found that infants still form attachments with their
mothers who work full time. Although they did argue that these infants are more likely to form an
insecure relationship with their mothers compared to mothers who did not work or worked part time.
This then posses the risk that working mothers are at risk of having a emotional insecurity as the
infants may perceive the parents absence as a rejection. This could be disturbing because of the
development of coping strategies leading to anger and mistrust with the mother. Other study that have
been done to try and compare infants trust with working or non working

Intervention For Smoking Cessation Of Smoking
Intervention for Smoking Cessation
The most important intervention for this patient is to quit smoking. This would be very difficult for a
person who smoke for more than 20 years to quit. I would explain to the patient that the best way to
treat her emphysema is to stop smoking. First of all, I will assess on what this patient knows about
smoking cessation. Some smokers may not have a correct information and positive attitude about quit
smoking, which could be the reasons that contribute to the failure of previous attempts of quitting. I
would explain to her that tobacco smoking is responsible for 90 percent of all cases of COPD,
including emphysema (MacGill, 2015). Normally, when particles enter the lung, these particles lands
on a thin layer of mucus inside the lungs. The little hairs, called cilia, help to move mucus and the
particles from the lungs upward toward the throat. This process allows the mucus to be expelled or
swallowed (American Thoracic Society, 2015). Coughing is another way the lungs protect themselves
from irritants in bronchial tubes (American Thoracic Society, 2015). Inhalation of smoke, over times,
will destroy cilia, and they no longer remove mucus effectively. Subsequently, mucus accumulates
inside the lungs causing irritation and coughing (American Thoracic Society, 2015). The most
effective way to stop coughing is to stop smoking.
I would also point out that the patient is developing a condition called Leukoplakia as evidence by

Human Relationships With Considerations Of The...
Discussion: The role of culture in human relationships with considerations of the implications for
attachment theory. Bowbly (1959) explains the child s emotional regulation and attachment to the
primary caretaker, as a result of the caretaker s continues responsiveness and a strategy of the child to
keep the primary caretaker close to ensure survival during evolutionary times. It adapts to fit into the
appropriate evolutionary niche. This internal working model creates the four main types of
attachment: the insecure avoidant (A) attachment, most prominently the secure (B) attachment, and
insecure ambivalent (C) attachment or in rare cases a disorganizes (D) attachment, which are
measured with the Strange Situation Protocol, which assesses the infant s explorative behaviour when
the mother leaves the room, the distress and stranger anxiety when the mother was not present and the
behaviour of the infant when the mother returns (Ainsworth, 1969). Van IJzendoorn and Sagi Schwarz
(2008) claim with their four hypotheses that attachment to at least one caregiver is universal, the
secure attachment is the norm, that attachment patterns are a result of the primary caregivers prompt
and sensitive response and lastly, that attachment security will lead the child s competence to regulate
their own emotions, develop cognitive abilities and establish satisfactory relationships. Culture is a
string indicator of the how the self relates to others. This strongly affects communal values,

Video Games Effect On Acts Of Crime And Violence
Cezena, Gerald

Are video games linked to acts of crime and violence? Video games software and hardware are among
one of the most used consumed electronic devices. My father would tell me how he and his friends
used to play arcade games such as Pac Man, Space Invaders, and Galaxian in his hometown in
Guatemala. I remember I would watch him playing Super Mario 64 on our Nintendo 64 when I was a
toddler. Several of my peers grew up playing video games on Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles.
Millions of consoles have been sold and millions of people have played at least of video game. It has
become one of those common household electronics such as televisions, cell phones, and computers.
However, video games have never had complete approval from every person is society. There are
individuals who view video games as a nuisance, a distraction, a waste of time and money. There are
some people who have used video games as a scapegoat in the aftermath of violent and tragic events.
Video games with mature themes (such as violence, blood, gore, drugs, innuendo, etc.) have been
blamed for making the perpetrators of crimes commit acts of violence. While I can see how video
games can viewed as influencing violence at first sight, my issue with blaming video games is the lack
of support for their argument. This raises the question, Are video games linked to acts of crime and
violence? and If so, what evidence suggests that they

Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
In the general prologue to Geoffrey Chaucer s, The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer reveals his
dissatisfaction of the distribution of power and how that power was maintained in the Medieval
England estate system, through the use of his physical description of each of the pilgrims and by the
personality of specific members of each caste. To portray these characters and the flaws that they
represent in actual medieval society, Chaucer heavily relies on the use of irony to describe many of the
travelers in ways that are complete opposites of how they should ideally be in society. The majority of
the travelers in The Canterbury Tales are nameless and are introduced by their position in society and
what their role is. The first pilgrim we are introduced to, is the Knight, who is described as being a
man of Truth, honour, generousness and courtesy (4). The narrator then describes his appearance as
not gaily dressed and the Knights reasoning for attending the pilgrimage as simply a way to render
thanks (5). While the Knight is portrayed as a virtuous pilgrim, we are introduced to his son, the
Squire. The Squire is a knight in training who is described as being A lover and cadet...With locks as
curly a if they had been pressed (5). The narrator then states that the only reason why the Squire has
chosen to pursue the knighthood, is not because of honor or pride like his father, but only in hope to
win his lady s grace (5). From what we know about Medieval Society and the Code

Victorian woman. She was viewed so well that not only did one man propose to her but three did.
What captivated these three men was her physical beauty and how comfortable and playful she is with
everyone. Living in Victorian England she had to repress any sexual desires she has. She is happy to
discuss with her friend Mina about her love life and especially about, Arthur Holmwood. She writes,
But oh, Mina, I love him; I love him; I love him. (Stoker 64) Because of that she is looked upon in the

and their blood. She becomes this innocent, virgin woman to this voluptuous one. The moment she
sees Arthur she tries to lure him into her sexual act but is stopped when Van restrains Arthur from
coming any closer to her. She says to him, Come to me, Arthur. Leave these others and come to me.
My arms are hungry for you. Come, and we can rest together. Come, my husband. (Stoker 226) In the

which is why Van says she has to be killed. Like Dracula she would feed off of children. As you go on

Essay On Irish Republican Army
The Irish Republican Army is any of several armed movements in Ireland in the 20th and 21st
centuries dedicated to Irish republicanism, the belief that all of Ireland should be an independent
republic. It was also characterized by the belief that political violence was necessary to achieve that
goal.
The first known use of the term Irish Republican Army occurred in the Fenian raids on Canada in the
1860s. The original Irish Republican Army formed by 1917 from those Irish Volunteers who refused
to enlist in the British Army during World War I, members of the Irish Citizen Army and others.
During the Irish War of Independence it was the army of the Irish Republic, declared by Dáil Éireann
in 1919. Some Irish people dispute the claims of more recently created organizations that insist that
they are the only legitimate descendants of the original IRA, often referred to as the Old IRA .

In 1969, the more traditionalist republican members split off into the Provisional IRA and Sinn Féin.

Constabulary and the British Army, and British institutions and economic targets. They also killed
members of the Irish Army and the Garda Síochána, which was against one of their standing orders.
A further split occurred in 1986, when the former leader of Sinn Féin Ruairí Ó Brádaigh who was

the policy of abstentionism to Dáil Éireann. The followers of Ruairí Ó Brádaigh, who adhere to

occurred during the war. It will include important dates, documents, people, and battles throughout the

The war with Mexico was the first American war fought on foreign soil. In order to fight against
Mexico we had to build a strong Army as well as a strong Navy. The war was fought between a really
unprepared military Mexico and James K. Polk (United States President). James believed the United
States had a Manifest Destiny (A belief that the expansion of the United States from one ocean to the
ocean on the other side of the United States was justified and inevitable). A border skirmish on the Rio
Grande started off the war and a lot of American victories followed behind it. When it was all over
Mexico had lost about a third of its territory, including New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and
California.
The Manifest Destiny was believed not only by Polk but also by many American citizens. It was

Neur s Resting Membrane Potential
The neuron s resting membrane potential is usually 70 millivolts. This charge comes from the fact that
there are more negatively charged sodium ions outside the cell than there are positive potassium ions
inside the cell. These ions are arranged by the sodium potassium pump: for every 2 potassium ions it
pumps into the cell, it pumps out 3 sodium ions. The membrane is also riddled with ion channels,
large proteins that provide passage when their respective gates open. Most are voltage gated channels,
which open or close at certain membrane potentials. Ligand gated channels that only open when a
specific neurotransmitter or hormone attaches to it. Finally, mechanically gated channels open in
response to physically stretching the membrane. When the gates open, ions diffuse across that
membrane down the electro potential gradient. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

with a receptor site on the next neuron if the receptor site is the right type and is vacant. This is often

Workplace Diversity Of The Workplace
Job s face many struggles and challenges each and every day. Workplace diversity is something which
is being talked about the most here lately. Out breaks of minimum wage, sexualities, gender, and even
your skin color affects what diversity a business would want. Within the business, the professional
level is set pretty high due to the superior designers making us able to dress well fashioned. When
people step into a business they do not want someone that is going to walk in with a t shirt and gym
shorts, they would rather them be in dress pants and a nice dress shirt with fashionable shoe wear. It
does not have to be the top notch designer clothing, just something which doesn t scream I just woke
up from bed. The thing which is being most talked about these days is diversity. People who are
African American, white, Hispanic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, male, or even female could feel unwanted
at a higher end business. The more people are expanding their personalities and how much they want
to be shown that anyone could do anything just as much as the next man is outrageous. Workplace
diversity is becoming more intense as the years continue on and it is important to employers and
employees for a number of reasons, a few of them being that it would gain mutual respect with

Japanese American Internment Essay
Human rights they are an ongoing issue in the world today, with the constant struggle against
violation. The United Nations has accepted 30 articles on human rights, which help protect millions
from political, social, and legal abuses (UDHR). Even with the insistence from the world s leaders to
follow and honor these rights, violation is common and provides a serious threat to people all over the
world. One example of a violation of human rights such as equality and safety in possessions is shown
through the issue of Japanese American internment camps (UDHR). First, the problem of Japanese
American internment began in the 1940 s, when World War II left it s mark on America (Ng xi). On
December 7th, 1941, the Japanese Empire bombed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Article 9 was also very seriously violated. This article declares that humans should not be subject to
arbitrary arrest, or be detained against their will with no valid reason (UDHR). This was disregarded
by forcing the internees to evacuate and go to camps, and then keeping them there against their will
(JARDA). Likewise, Article 12 from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, no one shall be
subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence , was violated
through the act of evacuating them from their homes (JARDA). These violations of the human rights
were the suffering of the Japanese Americans, until resolution came. Finally, a resolution to the
disaster of the internment camps came, after 3 years of suffering (Ng xxii). The end of the terrible
event started in December of 1944, when President Roosevelt finally revoked the Executive Order
9066 (JARDA). The events leading up to this included a protest at Manzanar Reception Center, the
plans to re accept Japanese into the army, and the close of a select few reception centers (Ng xii). With
the momentum of these advances, and the cancellation of Executive Order 9066, the War Relocation
Authority began a six month process of releasing and relocating internees (JARDA). By 1946, all of
the camps were closed and all internees were released, and the violation was resolved (Ng xxi). In
conclusion, the evidence presented forth clearly shows that the human rights

Comparing Prince Hamlet In The T. V Play
Both Prince hamlet in the play Hamlet, and Clay in the T.V. series Thirteen Reasons Why, have ways
of dealing with loss, seeking the truth, and getting revenge. Both characters deal with a great amount
of grief, hurt, and confusion. These two characters are alike in many ways throughout the play, and the
T.V series. In the play Hamlet, Prince Hamlet s father dies by the hand of his uncle who goes by the
name of Claudius. Hamlet is confused, hurt, and depressed, and he doesn t know how to deal with
what he s feeling after the loss/murder of his father Prince Hamlet. O, that this too too sullied flesh

After Prince Hamlet discovered that Claudius truly did murder his father, he wants revenge. Now
might I do it pat, now he is praying, And now I ll do t. [He draws his sword.] And so he goes to
heaven, And so am I revenged. That would be scann d: A villain kills my father, and for that, I, his sole
son, do this same villain send To heaven. (3.3.77 83) Hamlet has devised a plan to get revenge on the
man who killed his father, but he is hesitant. In this quote, Hamlet is about to strike Claudius with the
sword, when he realizes that Claudius is praying. If he really is praying, then he goes to heaven. How
would that be fair that the man who killed Hamlet s father goes to heaven? So Hamlet doesn t kill
Claudius. In the show Thirteen Reasons Why, Clay goes through a series of times when he tries to get
revenge on the people who hurt Hannah. Clay doesn t really know what to do with his grief or
feelings, so he cracks under the pressure and stress to act like he s okay when he s not. Clay takes a
rock, and throws it at Tyler Down s window. Tyler was said to be a creep in Hannah s tape, he exposed
pictures of hannah. Clay confronts and blames multiple people as he goes through tape after tape, until
he realizes that just about everyone is to blame for the death of Hannah Baker. He gives the tapes to
the school counselor and Hannah s parents so that everyone can now know the whole truth about why

Summary Of A Rose For Emily By Emily Grierson
Emily Grierson died at the mere age of 74, still having her whole life ahead of her. She had been
forced to live a lonely life, which later led to her becoming oppressed. Miss Emily was written into a
lonely woman by William Faulkner in his gothic story a Rose for Emily . Faulkner s gothic literature
describes the many different ways Miss Emily showed her oppression. In his story, Emily lived alone
in a house that was lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay .She wouldn t speak to anyone about
anything and would often isolate herself from the eyes of others by remaining in her house for long
periods of time.
Miss Emily Grierson seemed like a calm and independent woman that the whole neighborhood knew
about. People would often find themselves wishing for her to find a man, and when she did they
would wish for her to marry him. However, before she had found a man, she had her father, who
would strictly forbid her from =having any relationship with any man. Miss Emily respected her father
s wishes, obeyed his every rule, and even lived with him until she reached the age of thirty and still
found herself single. Her father s death affected Miss Emily greatly. She had at first denied her father s
death and left his corpse sitting in her dining room for three days before she finally broke down. The
detail that Faulkner wrote, about her denying her father s death, signalled that she was suffering from
oppression. Miss Emily Grierson was slowly starting to decay.

Nt1330 Unit 3 Assignment 4 Command Line
CM 523 Homework 4: Command Line Bochao Sun Nov. 14, 2017 When I encountered command line
during last week s class, I found it a little confusing and aloof . I was totally unfamiliar with its
purpose and syntax, and the interface is merely characters of same font and size. I thought it is
something only for computer science students and does not have anything to do with web design and
interaction. Things changed a lot as I learn to use it. In fact, such flat interface excludes all graphical
display formats in regular commands thus makes it clearer to find the target directory and file by
looking their names and types (e.g. style.css) returned after the ls command. It should occupy less
RAM of the computer than Finder because it does not render figure out icons and thumbnails for all

When I am using graphical user interface, I can go back and forth to the last directory by simply
clicking at arrow on the Finder window. However, I need to type commands every time to change
directory (cd) and know what is in the directory (pwd). Therefore, CLI both saves time and takes time.
It also takes time to learn and get used to the set of commands that make sense in CLI. What s more,
contents are permanently deleted after the rm or rm r command, which may cause loss of important
documents by mistake. Another detail that I pay attention to is that in Finder, I can preview most files
by pressing the Space button and switch the files with arrow buttons on keyboard, while previewing is
not available on CLI. I need to open it with an open command. In addition, CLI once surprised me by
making reasonable suggestions. The first time I tried to open a website in CLI, I typed the address
without http:// and it was actually regarded as a path (see below). When it could not found the folder
and file on my computer, it surprisingly asked Perhaps you meant (suggested

Afro-American Music
1A. Banalization is the trivialization of events so as to lessen their significance the question of power
in the telling of a narrative, in which the point of view is the story being told. Versioning is a stand on
the way the world works, the idea that nothing came from nothing, in which everything is a version of
something else. Counter narrative identifies as a positional category, in which material is reread in a
new way. B. An example of banalization is the narrative of black lives matter movement, in which has

To say that African descended populations and cultures have been erased is not an unreasonable
statement because the moment Africans were enslaved and taken from their home country they were
taught a false history, in which their past was not filled with kingship but with destitution. For
example, in Marcus D. Jones excerpt Africa in Mexico, Jones states, Moreover, like the people of
Coyolillo, the majority of the inhabitants of the coastal communities south of the City of Veracruz
have even forgotten or perhaps were never taught the country s colonial past, when enslaved Africans
were brought directly from Africa to Mexico (Jones). Thus, many Mexican people don t realize that
they are in fact from African decent. If the people of Mexico were taught of their past it would answer
various question regarding the ancestors of not only Spanish, Asian, and Indigenous but also African.
Ultimately, under colonial rule, Mexican society was divided into a system of social classes where

Satrapi uses a series of symbols to help get her point across and develop her coming of age story. First
the veil is a powerful symbol displayed throughout the graphic novel. The veil is used to symbolize
many different social issues within Iran during the Iranian revolution. The veil is first seen by marjane
as a new clothing item with no meaning but as the novel progresses so does marjane s understanding
of the veil. The reader can associate the veil with oppression and lack of women s rights to express
themselves. The symbol represents the power the Iranian government has on the women of Iran.
Although the veil is a tradition in Iranian culture many women do not want to be forced to wear the
veil in public at all times. Women are seen fighting for and against the veil in the novel (5). Satrapi
wants the reader to learn that some things are not as simple as they appear and have many hidden

someone s beliefs as delusional. In Martin s case his delusions were of aliens conspiring with his
family to kill him and could not be confused with religious beliefs. It was clear he was suffering from
delusions. It is also important to take into account any family history of psychotic disorders. Martin s

Anglo Saxon England
4. Vikings in Anglo Saxon England Scandinavian influence The process of Christianization and Latin
influx was interrupted at the end of the eight century (787) when the Vikings (Norwegian and Dane
tribes) began their ravages over Anglo Saxon England, sacking monasteries like Lindisfarne and
Jarrow (793 794). By the ninth century, churches and monasteries in Northumbria and Mercia lay in
ruins while settlements in all parts of the country had been plundered and northern towns, such as
York in 867, captured. Anglo Saxon kingdoms were finally overturned while the Vikings established
their own kingdom in the northeast of England (the Danelaw). Under King Alfred s rule of Wessex
(871 899) and despite several conflicts, the Danish were contained in such area. In turn, the Danish
king had to convert to Christianism, although the moral fibre of the church was seriously disrupted
(Baugh (2005:79). Then Alfred s descendants, Edward the Elder (900 925) and Athelstan (925 939),
extended their authority throughout England Athelstan s triumph in 937 in Brunanburh was crucial,
which is recorded in an Old English poem with the same name. However, invasions were repeated at
the end of the tenth century along the southeast coast, led by the Norwegian and Danish kings, Olaf
and Svein respectively, who attacked London. Svein made himself king, sending the English king
Æthelred the Unready into exile in Normandy. England was hence ruled by Danish kings from 1014 to

Treyarch zombies first appeared in Call of Duty: World at War and quickly became very popular when
DLC#3 came out with the zombies map that brought dogs into play, Shi No Numa. In this map,
Treyarch added wonder weapons, dogs, and the four main characters, Tank Dempsey, Nikolia

Zombies Verruct may have brought the perks, but Shi No Numa brought the Wonder Waffe DG 2, and

American History Essays Boston Tea Party
Boston Tea Party: A Fight for Freedom
Imagine you are a merchant in Boston selling imported goods from England with a high tax on them,
when three ships come in with 342 chests of tea without planning to pay the middleman tax. That s
how it was for many merchants in Boston. The East India Tea Company went bankrupt due to the
dropping rate of tea sales in America because of the increasing rate of smuggling. The government s
lack of support, and the newly passed Tea Act, only kindled more resentment towards the British from
the colonists. This finally resulted in approximately three groups of fifty men going aboard the three
British ships and dumping the tea into the Boston Harbor. The Boston Tea Party was more an act

The colonists also thought that if they paid the duty on the tea, the British would impose other taxes
on them. The smugglers were also angry because this would wipe out their entire illegal business
(Funk 3). Even the people in England were upset because they weren t getting tea as cheap as in
America for a short time. False rumors started to spread through the colonies that there was poison,
bugs, and rat tails in the tea (Francis).
The Tea Act and lack of help from government only caused more resentment towards the British. In
1767, the British Parliament placed duties on several items imported to America. Many colonists
considered the taxes illegal and decided to not pay them by boycott. The government stopped all the
duties except for imported tea. Parliament passed the Tea Act to help get the East India Tea Company
out of financial trouble. This act allowed the company to sell tea in America for a much lower price.
Three ships came into the Boston Harbor with 342 chests of tea without planning to pay the
middleman tax to the store owners, which allowed them to make some profit due to the high taxes
already placed. The colonists were outraged. The governor of Massachusetts rejected the efforts made
by the colonists to prevent the tea being unloaded until the full tax was paid to them and they were
allowed to buy their tea at the same price as usual. The government leaders did not want the three
ships to leave Boston until the tea was unloaded

Importance and Relevance of Cultural Stories
Cultural Stories Cultural narratives reveal aspects of their indigenous culture while at the same time
reflecting universal truths. This paper examines three stories that are germane to their native culture
while also dealing with the universal theme of individuation, the process by which one becomes aware
of oneself, distinct from other people. Each of the stories were written by authors from different
cultures: Hansel and Gretel was written by The Brother s Grimm in Germany, The Wolf and The
Lamb is an Aesop s Fable from Greece, and The Jungle Book is a set of stories written by Rudyard
Kipling in England. Although The Wolf and The Lamb and The Jungle Book each feature animal
characters, they are anthropomorphized to the extent that they still incorporate the individuation
process as a prominent trope. In each of the stories, the main character undertakes the journey from
innocence to experience and must learn how to assert and defend himself in the face of danger and
adversity. Although Hansel and Gretel features two (eponymous) main characters rather than one, the
story still addresses the need for children to undertake the process of individuation and fend for
themselves rather than relying on one s elders. At the beginning of the story, Hansel and Gretel are na
誰ve; they rely on their parents, neither of whom can adequately care for them (they are cold and
underfed), yet the two children are also unable to adequately care for themselves. For example,

The Book of Ephesians is an Epistle Written by Paul
Bible Dictionary Project
Book
The book of Ephesians is an epistle written by Paul to the church in Ephesus. It takes the form of a
letter aimed at addressing the Christian congregation. Paul wrote the letter, along with several other
epistles, while incarcerated in a Roman prison. With the assistance of Tychicus, Paul sent his letter to
Ephesus, the capital of lesser Asia (Weber, 2000). Paul s letter aims to expound on the critical role
played by the church as a constituent of God s plans. The church is presented as furthering God s
eternal purpose, with Christ as its head. With its comprehensive and insightful analysis, Ephesians
offers further discourse on issues pertaining to Christ s church as explained in other epistles. From
Ephesians, Christians are also able to comprehend the dimensions of God s grace. The epistle
examines the greatness of God s love, highlighting the privilege of a spiritual rebirth made possible by
God s grace (Weber, 2000). Paul also warns the Ephesus Christians against the false doctrines and
misleading philosophy prevalent in Ephesus at the time (Ephesians 4:14 New International Version).
Ephesians establishes the church s place as a critical component in God s divine plan and offers
lessons on the workings of salvation and grace.

In the Middle Ages, Europeans started cooking cookies for Christmas. Christmas cookies were defined by cut outs and molds brought over to Europe by the Dutch. The first American Christmas cookie is documented by Amelia Simmons, who wrote American Cookery. The very first cookey had flour, coriander seed, butter, sugar, pearlash and milk. A far cry from what Americans have come to know and love as the Christmas Cookie. By 1924, the ingredients had started to change to what Americans know as butter, eggs, sugar, flour and milk. Greenland is to the northeast; off the southern coast of Newfoundland lies Saint Pierre and Miquelon, an overseas collectivity of France. • 6. Sql Injection Paper SQL Injection Recently, Aim Higher College has seen several cases of sensitive information being stolen from a student information system and posted on the Web. After reviewing Web server and database logs, you believe that the source of the problem is a SQL injection vulnerability. The vulnerability appears to exist in a Web application used by students to register for courses. SQL injection is a technique where malicious users inject SQL commands into an SQL statement, via web page input. Injected SQL commands can alter SQL statement and compromise the security of a web application. SQL injection is one of the oldest, most prevalent and dangerous of web application vulnerability. I believe attackers could steal information by following methods. Most web pages have users or given user id to login, and original idea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some web developers use blacklist of words and characters, but some words like delete and semicolons should be allowed in many types of input. I think the best way to prevent is combination of protection. I would recommend to use SQL parameters. SQL parameters are values that are added to an SQL query at execution time, in a controlled manner. I would use patches and updates in exploited database and application as soon as possible. The firewall should be in place to help to filter out malicious data. Adding new rules regarding SQL injections to firewall will help to detect and patch. Also, use appropriate privileges and keep password hash and encrypted. Password should be change regularly, which overlook most of the time. In addition, I would not display a lot information about database architecture from error messages and use the Remote Only custom Errors mode, so external hacker will not get any additional information. After all, SQL injection is most popular tool for hackers to obtain and manipulate data, because it is easy to use. However, combination of the protections can keep secure and monitor ... Studies on the affect of mothers going back to work have been varied and have thus for lead to interpretations of the results. The mothers and infants relationship has a central part in a lot of theories on an infants trust development. Freud s trust vs. miss trust theory is an example of this. Infants must learn to trust their caregivers to meet their needs. Responsive parenting is critical. (Pg 38, Life span and development, Text book). Freud theory focused on the importance of the individuals early experience with the family. He believed that an infant s early experience went on to contribute to the individual s adult personality. The following studies data is based of a one time assessment session. This research found by (refecence 3) has found that infants still form attachments with their mothers who work full time. Although they did argue that these infants are more likely to form an insecure relationship with their mothers compared to mothers who did not work or worked part time. This then posses the risk that working mothers are at risk of having a emotional insecurity as the infants may perceive the parents absence as a rejection. This could be disturbing because of the development of coping strategies leading to anger and mistrust with the mother. • 8. Intervention For Smoking Cessation Of Smoking Intervention for Smoking Cessation The most important intervention for this patient is to quit smoking. This would be very difficult for a person who smoke for more than 20 years to quit. I would explain to the patient that the best way to treat her emphysema is to stop smoking. First of all, I will assess on what this patient knows about smoking cessation. Some smokers may not have a correct information and positive attitude about quit smoking, which could be the reasons that contribute to the failure of previous attempts of quitting. I would explain to her that tobacco smoking is responsible for 90 percent of all cases of COPD, including emphysema (MacGill, 2015). Normally, when particles enter the lung, these particles lands on a thin layer of mucus inside the lungs. The little hairs, called cilia, help to move mucus and the particles from the lungs upward toward the throat. This process allows the mucus to be expelled or swallowed (American Thoracic Society, 2015). Coughing is another way the lungs protect themselves from irritants in bronchial tubes (American Thoracic Society, 2015). Inhalation of smoke, over times, will destroy cilia, and they no longer remove mucus effectively. Subsequently, mucus accumulates inside the lungs causing irritation and coughing (American Thoracic Society, 2015). The most effective way to stop coughing is to stop smoking. I would also point out that the patient is developing a condition called Leukoplakia as evidence by white patches are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Human Relationships With Considerations Of The... Discussion: The role of culture in human relationships with considerations of the implications for attachment theory. Bowbly (1959) explains the child s emotional regulation and attachment to the primary caretaker, as a result of the caretaker s continues responsiveness and a strategy of the child to keep the primary caretaker close to ensure survival during evolutionary times. Video games software and hardware are among one of the most used consumed electronic devices. My father would tell me how he and his friends used to play arcade games such as Pac Man, Space Invaders, and Galaxian in his hometown in Guatemala. I remember I would watch him playing Super Mario 64 on our Nintendo 64 when I was a toddler. Several of my peers grew up playing video games on Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles. Millions of consoles have been sold and millions of people have played at least of video game. It has become one of those common household electronics such as televisions, cell phones, and computers. However, video games have never had complete approval from every person is society. There are individuals who view video games as a nuisance, a distraction, a waste of time and money. There are some people who have used video games as a scapegoat in the aftermath of violent and tragic events. Video games with mature themes (such as violence, blood, gore, drugs, innuendo, etc.) have been blamed for making the perpetrators of crimes commit acts of violence. While I can see how video games can viewed as influencing violence at first sight, my issue with blaming video games is the lack of support for their argument. This raises the question, Are video games linked to acts of crime and violence? and If so, what evidence suggests that they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales In the general prologue to Geoffrey Chaucer s, The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer reveals his dissatisfaction of the distribution of power and how that power was maintained in the Medieval England estate system, through the use of his physical description of each of the pilgrims and by the personality of specific members of each caste. To portray these characters and the flaws that they represent in actual medieval society, Chaucer heavily relies on the use of irony to describe many of the travelers in ways that are complete opposites of how they should ideally be in society. The majority of the travelers in The Canterbury Tales are nameless and are introduced by their position in society and what their role is. The first pilgrim we are introduced to, is the Knight, who is described as being a man of Truth, honour, generousness and courtesy (4). The narrator then describes his appearance as not gaily dressed and the Knights reasoning for attending the pilgrimage as simply a way to render thanks (5). While the Knight is portrayed as a virtuous pilgrim, we are introduced to his son, the Squire. The Squire is a knight in training who is described as being A lover and cadet...With locks as curly a if they had been pressed (5). It was also characterized by the belief that political violence was necessary to achieve that goal. The first known use of the term Irish Republican Army occurred in the Fenian raids on Canada in the 1860s. The original Irish Republican Army formed by 1917 from those Irish Volunteers who refused to enlist in the British Army during World War I, members of the Irish Citizen Army and others. The membrane is also riddled with ion channels, large proteins that provide passage when their respective gates open. Most are voltage gated channels, which open or close at certain membrane potentials. Ligand gated channels that only open when a specific neurotransmitter or hormone attaches to it. She had been forced to live a lonely life, which later led to her becoming oppressed. Miss Emily was written into a lonely woman by William Faulkner in his gothic story a Rose for Emily . Faulkner s gothic literature describes the many different ways Miss Emily showed her oppression. In his story, Emily lived alone in a house that was lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay .She wouldn t speak to anyone about anything and would often isolate herself from the eyes of others by remaining in her house for long periods of time. To support a diagnosis of Brief Psychotic Disorder one must take into effect a person s cultural background, and family practices such as religion. • 34. Anglo Saxon England 4. Vikings in Anglo Saxon England Scandinavian influence The process of Christianization and Latin influx was interrupted at the end of the eight century (787) when the Vikings (Norwegian and Dane tribes) began their ravages over Anglo Saxon England, sacking monasteries like Lindisfarne and Jarrow (793 794). By the ninth century, churches and monasteries in Northumbria and Mercia lay in ruins while settlements in all parts of the country had been plundered and northern towns, such as York in 867, captured. Anglo Saxon kingdoms were finally overturned while the Vikings established their own kingdom in the northeast of England (the Danelaw). Under King Alfred s rule of Wessex (871 899) and despite several conflicts, the Danish were contained in such area. In turn, the Danish king had to convert to Christianism, although the moral fibre of the church was seriously disrupted (Baugh (2005:79). Then Alfred s descendants, Edward the Elder (900 925) and Athelstan (925 939), extended their authority throughout England Athelstan s triumph in 937 in Brunanburh was crucial, which is recorded in an Old English poem with the same name. However, invasions were repeated at the end of the tenth century along the southeast coast, led by the Norwegian and Danish kings, Olaf and Svein respectively, who attacked London. Svein made himself king, sending the English king Æthelred the Unready into exile in Normandy. England was hence ruled by Danish kings from 1014 to 1017, when the Danish ... • 37. American History Essays Boston Tea Party Boston Tea Party: A Fight for Freedom Imagine you are a merchant in Boston selling imported goods from England with a high tax on them, when three ships come in with 342 chests of tea without planning to pay the middleman tax. That s how it was for many merchants in Boston. The East India Tea Company went bankrupt due to the dropping rate of tea sales in America because of the increasing rate of smuggling. The government s lack of support, and the newly passed Tea Act, only kindled more resentment towards the British from the colonists. This finally resulted in approximately three groups of fifty men going aboard the three British ships and dumping the tea into the Boston Harbor. The Boston Tea Party was more an act towards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The colonists also thought that if they paid the duty on the tea, the British would impose other taxes on them. The smugglers were also angry because this would wipe out their entire illegal business (Funk 3). Even the people in England were upset because they weren t getting tea as cheap as in America for a short time. False rumors started to spread through the colonies that there was poison, bugs, and rat tails in the tea (Francis). The Tea Act and lack of help from government only caused more resentment towards the British. In 1767, the British Parliament placed duties on several items imported to America. Many colonists considered the taxes illegal and decided to not pay them by boycott. The government stopped all the duties except for imported tea. Parliament passed the Tea Act to help get the East India Tea Company out of financial trouble. This act allowed the company to sell tea in America for a much lower price. Three ships came into the Boston Harbor with 342 chests of tea without planning to pay the middleman tax to the store owners, which allowed them to make some profit due to the high taxes already placed. The colonists were outraged. The governor of Massachusetts rejected the efforts made by the colonists to prevent the tea being unloaded until the full tax was paid to them and they were allowed to buy their tea at the same price as usual. The government leaders did not want the three ships to leave Boston until the tea was unloaded ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Importance and Relevance of Cultural Stories Cultural Stories Cultural narratives reveal aspects of their indigenous culture while at the same time reflecting universal truths. This paper examines three stories that are germane to their native culture while also dealing with the universal theme of individuation, the process by which one becomes aware of oneself, distinct from other people. Each of the stories were written by authors from different cultures: Hansel and Gretel was written by The Brother s Grimm in Germany, The Wolf and The Lamb is an Aesop s Fable from Greece, and The Jungle Book is a set of stories written by Rudyard Kipling in England. Although The Wolf and The Lamb and The Jungle Book each feature animal characters, they are anthropomorphized to the extent that they still incorporate the individuation process as a prominent trope. In each of the stories, the main character undertakes the journey from innocence to experience and must learn how to assert and defend himself in the face of danger and adversity. Although Hansel and Gretel features two (eponymous) main characters rather than one, the story still addresses the need for children to undertake the process of individuation and fend for themselves rather than relying on one s elders. At the beginning of the story, Hansel and Gretel are na 誰ve; they rely on their parents, neither of whom can adequately care for them (they are cold and underfed), yet the two children are also unable to adequately care for themselves. For example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. The Book of Ephesians is an Epistle Written by Paul Bible Dictionary Project Book The book of Ephesians is an epistle written by Paul to the church in Ephesus. It takes the form of a letter aimed at addressing the Christian congregation. Paul wrote the letter, along with several other epistles, while incarcerated in a Roman prison. With the assistance of Tychicus, Paul sent his letter to Ephesus, the capital of lesser Asia (Weber, 2000). Paul s letter aims to expound on the critical role played by the church as a constituent of God s plans. The church is presented as furthering God s eternal purpose, with Christ as its head. With its comprehensive and insightful analysis, Ephesians offers further discourse on issues pertaining to Christ s church as explained in other epistles. From Ephesians, Christians are also able to comprehend the dimensions of God s grace. The epistle examines the greatness of God s love, highlighting the privilege of a spiritual rebirth made possible by God s grace (Weber, 2000). Paul also warns the Ephesus Christians against the false doctrines and misleading philosophy prevalent in Ephesus at the time (Ephesians 4:14 New International Version). Ephesians establishes the church s place as a critical component in God s divine plan and offers lessons on the workings of salvation and grace.
