 of educational technology

I graduated from high school in 1998 in Kapālama,
Oʻahu

strategies learned to improve the quality of my
programs and set my students up for success.
My definition
 of educational technology
    -Teaching that
incorporates various
 forms of technology

• In order for my students to succeed, I needed
to know how to use and teach them how to
  use each form of technology.
A technology I want to use in
         my classroom

I would love for each of my students to have their own
iPad and Bluetooth keyboard to access various websites,
apps, and to complete and submit assignments.
My vision of the classroom
        of the future
             • Some kind of fieldtrip
               capability (virtual/actual)
               that would allow
               students to experience
               places all around the
               world. Students would
               feel as if they are
               actually there.
A challenge for teaching
            • I am currently a resource
                teacher, spending only 4.5
                hours(1.5 hours for 3 days) a
                month with my students.

            • I have a set curriculum that I am
                expected to teach. Most of
                which takes place outside.

            • I need to make the time to figure
                out how to incorporate
                technology into my lessons.
Making use of the limited time I
have in the classroom while still
                covering what has already been
                set.
Words of wisdom
• “We need technology in
  every classroom and in
  every student and
  teacher’s hand,
  because it is the pen
  and paper of our time,
  and it is the lens
  through which we
  experience much of our
  world.” – David Warlick
