• April 2016, mandate BIM Level 2 (all centrally procured projects).
• NBS National BIM Report 2016: UK BIM adoption > 54% and
expected to be 80% today for those surveyed.
• Saved £885 millions in 2014-15.
• General Services Administration: 3D-4D-BIM Program in 2003.
• In 2010, Wisconsin 1st State to mandate BIM.
• Today 72% construction firms are believed to be using BIM.

• Since 2010, BCA has been granting BIM Fund.
• Since 2015, BIM e-submissions have been mandated for all projects
greater than 5,000 sq. m.
• One Island East (2004 – 2008) 1st BIM Project. (Ren and Kumaraswamy, 2013)
• HKHA started BIM research in 2006.
• HKIBIM established in 2009.
• In 2016, BD issued PNAP ADV-34 for BIM Submission as
supplementary information.
• Policy Address 2017: Capital works to adopt BIM.
