History Of Jack Daniel s Distillery
Founded by Jack Daniel in his home town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, in 1875, the Jack Daniel s
Distillery is home to probably the most well known brand of whisky in the world. The distillery is
located in a hollow known as Stillhouse Hollow, where a natural spring filters through a limestone
cliff which removes the iron and makes it perfect for distilling whisky. Jack, born Jasper Newton, was
orphaned at a young age and was taken in by a local preacher and moonshiner and it was he who first
introduced him to distilling. By 1875, after receiving his inheritance from his father s death, he
purchased the hollow where the distillery is still located today. The famous Jack Daniel s square
shaped bottle was introduced in 1897, with the thought that

Lesson Learned Case Study
In JP Morgan: Lesson Learned, the case writer, Stephen Sapp has raised and discussed few vital issues
which led to more than USD 2 billion trading loss of JP Morgan Chase Co (JP Morgan) booked
through its London branch. The dealing has been done by JP Morgan s Chief Investment Officer(CIO)
which during that time was run by Chief Investment Officer, Ina Drew1. This CIO unit is responsible
for hedging the bank s portfolio amounting about USD400 billion2 and taking position to make profit

What actually happened? It has been said that JP Morgan enter into an exceptionally large derivatives

Research Paper On Audio Steganography
Abstract Abundant use of electronic communication has paved way for transmitting information
securely. Security has its importance and application in wide area. It is a measure of human
negligence, in desire to enclose the latest technological inventions. This measure may have drastic
effect on human conception to the positioning of application, which needs a determined concern in
terms of security. Audio steganography is the science of hiding some secret text or audio files in a host
audio file by using different algorithms to retrieve the original data. The main challenge in audio
steganography is to obtain high payload and efficiency.
There are wide varieties of techniques such as LSB, parity coding, phase coding, spread spectrum etc.,

Thus steganography is said to be a covert communication. In contrast to Cryptography, where the
enemy is allowed to detect, intercept and modify messages without being able to violate certain
security premises guaranteed by a cryptosystem, the goal of Steganography is to hide messages inside
other harmless messages in a way that does not allow any enemy to even detect that there is a presence
of second message [1]. Both steganography and cryptography are meant for secret communication but
the approach is different. Hiding of secret message using steganography can be done in different forms
like text steganography, image steganography, audio steganography and video steganography.
Encoding secret messages in audio is the most challenging task while using steganography because
human auditory system (HAS) is more perceptive than human visual system (HVS) [5]. Thus audio
file is used as a cover file to hide secret data and it is called audio steganography. In Audio
steganography, secret message is embedded into digitized audio signal which results into altering the
binary sequence of corresponding audio file. There are several methods are available for audio

Blister Agent Research Paper
Blister Agents Blister agent is one of the most used and deadliest chemical weapon ever to be
documented in the last century. The scientific name for blister agent is Vesicants, from the Latin vesica
bladder, or blister. Blister agents or vesicants are chemicals which have severe irritating properties that
produce fluid filled pockets on the skin and damage to the eyes, lungs and other mucus membranes.
Symptoms of exposure may be immediate or delayed for several hours after exposure. Weather plays a
key part in how effective the use of blister agents can be when being deployed on an enemy. There are
three major types of blister agents that can be categorized as such: sulfur mustard, nitrogen mustard,
and Lewisite and halogenated oximes. Blister agents have some very particular traits verses other
chemical weapons that are out there. Sulfur mustard gas is clear to yellowish in color or a brown oily
liquid with a slight garlic or mustard smell. Lewisite contains arsenic and is a dark oily liquid with a
light smell of geraniums. Phosgene, which is one of the most common halogenated oximes, is a
colorless solid or liquid, with an intense irritating odor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the war, it was intense trench to trench warfare with both sides gaining and losing ground on a

A Group Of Philosophers All Get Together At A Man Named...
In Plato s Symposium, a group of philosophers all get together at a man named Agathon s house and
eventually decide to give speeches on love. The men all take turns giving their various speeches on
Love, each attacking the idea of Love in a different way. Phaedrus talks about Love s origins and how
Love encourages people to be virtuous, Pausanias makes the distinction between Common Love (love
of body) and Celestial Love (love of mind), Eryximachus talks about how Love promotes balance,
Aristophanes talks about how Love is about people continually searching for their other half (quite
literally), but how people can never find this other half, so people will never be whole, and finally
Agathon talks about Love s beauty and Love s desire for beauty. When Socrates speaks, he starts off
by saying that he will give the truth about Love, which he claims no one else did. He proves this by
questioning Agathon s speech, asking how Love can both be beautiful and desire beauty when people
do not desire what they already have. Furthermore, Socrates recounts a conversation about Love with
Diotima, whose view of Love combines parts of all the other speeches into one truth about love. True
love is passing on one s ideas through celestial love in order to live forever. The clearest part of
Diotima s argument about love is that people use love to make themselves immortal. After Diotima
has finished incorporating the ideas of every speech about Love into one giant truth about love, she

Essay Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid Arthritis Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic syndrome that is characterized by
inflammation of the peripheral joints, but it may also involve the lungs, heart, blood vessels, and eyes.
The prevalence of this autoimmune disease is between 0.3% to 1.5% of the population in the United
States (Feinberg, pp 815). It affects women two to three times more often than men, and the onset of
RA is usually between 25 and 50 years of age, but it can occur at any age (Reed, pp 584). RA can be
diagnosed by establishing the presence of persistent joint pain, swelling in a symmetric distribution,
and prolonged morning stiffness. RA usually affects multiple joints, such as the hands, wrists, knees,

may be to maintain joint mobility, prevent joint deformity, maintain or increase strength and
functional ability, balancing activity with rest, develop problem solving skills to modify daily
activities at home and at work to protect joints and preserve energy, and especially promote
psychosocial adaptations to deal with their chronic disability. (Pisetsky, 2789). There are various drugs

The Effects Of Bpa On The World
Health is a re ensuring concern in today s world as technology has changed the way of life for many.
Bisphenol A, also known as BPA, is a chemical used to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins
(MNT, 2014). The key factor for ideal health is a suitable diet and the plastics and epoxy resins made
from BPA are used to make a variety of consumer products many being food containers, baby
products, water bottles, canned foods, and pop cans (Walters, 2011). BPA has allowed engineers to
expand their scientific knowledge as this chemical has unique characteristics that offer high
performance benefits in a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. However, though there
are some advantages of BPA, the disadvantages are more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did science contribute towards the understanding of BPA, but it presented various benefits on
top of that. Firstly, BPA has economic implications as it is cheap and can be easily manufactured.
Many alternatives are beginning to arise such as thermal paper for different types of printing that use
BPA and glass and stainless steel that are being widely used in different consumer products, but BPA
is cheaper and more efficient as products like plastic water bottles only cost about $4.99 while BPA
Free water bottles cost $14.99 $20.00 (BeCause Water Benefit Corp, 2014). On a larger scale, such as
industrial, business, medical, and safety equipment products, will produce the same trend as small
scale products, as BPA responds to government regulations while still upholding consumer preference.
This way the government is be able to save a lot of money while still producing high volumes of
different products. Secondly, using BPA has social benefits as Polycarbonate Plastic, is durable,
lightweight, shatter resistant, and heat resistant and provides a clear view of food in containers which
helps to keep the food fresh. By protecting the food from spoiling, cans with Epoxy Resin lining is
able to keep food fresh and have a shelf life for almost two years. This is necessary for feeding large
numbers of people that are homeless, in disaster relief, military, retirement homes, food banks, or
involved in other drastic situations

Why Is It Important To Recognize And Value An Individual...
Explain why it is important to recognize and value an individual as a person It is important because
each person deserves respect and each person has their own individual needs. Not every person is the
same, and treating a person in the exact same way as everyone else may not be the best way to help
show that persons individuality. If you do not recognise and value an individual as a person, you run
the risk of devaluing them, and once you ve done that you also run the risk of them of becoming
withdrawn, lacking confidence and upset 1.2 Describe the importance of recognising and individuals
strengths and abilities Helps to recognise what methods or ways are best suited to help that person.
And where further help is needed to help teach or to use their strengths and abilities in which will help
benefit them. Helping recognise strengths and abilities also helps build confidence in that person and
may encourage to build on their strengths and to try to gain or strengthen new abilities. Strengths also
help compensate for a person s weaknesses, this helps show where development may be needed and
how they can use existing strengths to help improve where they are weakest. 1.3 Describe how to
work in a person centered way that fully involves the individual Making sure everything you do is
evolved around that person so the work you do suits their specific needs ensuring the best care
possible. Finding out that persons history and needs to help create a personal care plan which

Comparing Piaget s Theory And Child Development
Introduction
Jean Piaget s Background
Jean Piaget was born in Switzerland in 1896. Based upon his observations, he concluded that children
were not less intelligent than adults, they simply think differently. Albert Einstein called Piaget s
discovery so simple only a genius could have thought of it.
Piaget s stage theory describes the cognitive development of children. Cognitive development
involves changes in cognitive process and abilities.
What is the relationship between Piaget s theory and the Child Development s short coursework?
Jean Piaget s theory is being applied in child development study because his theory shows that it has
stimulated much research and has found wide support among educators. He had developed a set of ...

He also applies his information that he gained to fit his ideas. Teaching a child at this stage needs
some equipment which can give him some space to play with and have an active role in learning.
Furthermore, the concrete stage starts about first grade to early adolescence. During this stage, a child
has developed different views or opinions which need to be satisfied. Their accommodation had
increased. The child develops an ability to think abstractly and to make rational judgments about
concrete or observable phenomena at which in the past he needed work by himself to understand.
Lastly, he will going through the formal operations which is adolescence. At this stage, the persons
will reach their cognition to the final form. This person no longer requires concrete objects to make
rational judgments because he is capable of doing the hypothetical and deductive reasoning.

How Did Netflix Pursue Movie Studios
Netflix could pursue movie studios if it can build up a higher number of customers who are watching
their exclusive shows. The con to a movie studio is the fact that there will be various expenses which
could result in removing part of their customers who enjoy the low 7.99 rate. Therefore Netflix would
become something that it is trying to compete against which is the bigger cable providers. An avenue
that Netflix is best suited for is creating original shows, and movies such as House of Cards. For
Netflix to take the next step it has to create at least one more show that has a national audience such as
the type of numbers that Breaking Bad, or Walking Dead has. This would pave the way for them to
create more of a fan base, and allow them

Bilbo Baggins Essay
Bilbo Baggins Essay
Have you ever changed in your life for the better? Well, in the novel, The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien,
there is a main character named Bilbo Baggins who is a hobbit. Bilbo changes throughout the story
because he is a dynamic character. He becomes courageous, adventurous, and learns to use his wits as
the story develops. Let me go into further detail with this.
First of all, he gains courage in the story. Before he went on this adventure, he was timid and to
himself. This is because hobbits didn t go on anything dangerous, especially adventures. This all
changes as soon as Bilbo goes on this journey with Gandalf and the dwarves. We see our first example
of this when he tries to steal from the three huge, nasty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bilbo used to be one of the least adventurous hobbits out there. But he does things he never thought he
would do, like accept the job as a burglar, and fulfills his duties as one. So in the sense, he gained an
adventurous side of him he thought he never had. We see his adventurous side when he saves his
friends from the prison of the wood elves. He could ve just left them or begged the wood elf to free
them, but he decided to wait for his one chance and escape with his friends. He stole the keys from
one of the elves, set them free, put them into barrels and sent them all down the river. Now tell me
what he did was not out of the ordinary or the least bit of adventurous. We also see his speech starting
to change into an adventurer s when he says, I tell you the gold was only an afterthought with us. We
came over hill and under hill for revenge. First of all, he said this to the almighty Smaug, who could
burn him to smithereens if he chose to. So he gained confidence as well, which came with the
adventure side of him.
In conclusion, we can now see that Bilbo is in fact a dynamic character. He gains many qualities he
can use in the future, like courage, learning to use his wits, and letting out the adventurous side in him.
He used to be almost paranoid, to himself, and strict. But now he has turned into something much
bigger, an adventurer. So the adventure changed him for the better. This is how Bilbo Baggins, the
hobbit we thought would never do anything

Why Do People Join Organized Religion
Question 1
I honestly think that people, in general, want to feel a sense of belonging and that there is something
greater than themselves guiding us through our day to day lives. In many instances, people believe in a
God/Entity because it is a part of their culture and is held in high regard. Both in years past to present
religion has played a major role in the way we as people view ourselves and each other. An example
of why people join an organized religion would be for the purpose of social status. An example of that
I would say is Scientology. From the outside looking in it really looks like this group is particularly
seeking out the rich and famous to join the church. There are Scientology churches that are
specifically for their rich and famous members to attend. Yet the less fortunate members are treated
with less grandeur. That really seems like it s all about the status/money the church gains from its
members and the status the members gain by joining this church. I bring this up because the original
idea of joining a religion was to worship the most high and to learn to live by the rules set forth for its
follower. The majority of believers are believers because the religion was handed down to them and
they genuinely feel that the belief and practices are right for them and their families. Some individuals
would say what is church or religion itself, isn t it all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That the beliefs and rituals practiced by the followers joined them in societal oneness. He did not

The Miracle of Feeding the 5000 Essay
The first thing that one needs to understand is the true meaning of the miracles Jesus performed, even
though the Devil does not want us to understand the meaning. He loves when we speculate and
question. In the Bible, miracles are often referred to as signs. Miracles are acts that only God can be
responsible for, usually above and beyond natural laws. Baker s Dictionary of the Bible defines a
miracle as Synthesizing the root connotations of these terms, we may define a miracle biblically as an
observable phenomenon effected by the direct operation of God s power, an arresting deviation from
the ordinary sequences of nature, a deviation calculated to elicit faith begetting awe, a divine

Jesus also performed a miracle of feeding four thousand (Matthew 15: 32, Mark 8: 1), which is much
like the miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand. There were many more astonishing acts performed
by the wondrous miracle worker, Jesus. The coin in the fish s mouth, walking on the water, and raising
of Lazarus from the dead, are just a minute amount, out of approximately thirty six. The miracle of
Jesus feeding the five thousand is just one of the many.
Feeding of the multitude is the only miracle besides the resurrection that is present in all four of the
Gospels; Matthew 14: 13 21, Mark 6: 31 44, Luke 9: 10 17, and John 6: 1 15. Jesus performed this
miracle of feeding the multitude of five thousand, with only five barley loaves of bread and two fish.
The basic meaning of all four gospels is the same with a few slight differences. The amount of five
thousand did not include the women or children. According to John A Broadus, the number of these
(woman and children) was probably small in proportion to the men, for otherwise Mark, Luke, and
John would hardly have omitted to mention them.
Matthew and Mark have the most similar writings in regards to this miraculous act, besides a few
minor things. Matthew writes that Jesus feels pity for them and cures the sick but Mark on the other
hand does write that Jesus feels pity, but does not mention healing the sick. In Matthew, the people
heard the ship

The World Of The Maori Essay
Maori Women
The Maori people sailed to the islands of New Zealand from other Polynesian Islands such as the
Cook Islands, Tonga, and Samoa, arriving from about 1250 to 1300 CE. There the Maori organized
into tribes, called iwi, and developed a warrior culture because of the lack of resources on the islands.
Yet Maori culture inside the tribes became based around the community precisely from the lack of
resources as well. The collective mindset means, as described by Annie Mikaere, who is a modern
Maori woman and activist, that in a tribe, each individual has specific roles to fill in order for the
society to function properly. Embracing an overall egalitarian lifestyle, Maori women were allowed to
play a greater role in society and help to shape it.
Women in Mythology
The mythological world of the Maori begins with a woman figure, Papatuanuku, who is a combination
of the name for the land, not the islands of New Zealand which are called Aotearoa by the Maori,
instead resembling the figure of Mother Earth from a western point of view and she is also a figure in
early mythology that holds the role of creator and ancestress of all Maori who is worshipped as a
goddess. The fusion of the land and the goddess is attributed to the Maori belief that they were formed
from the land and that the earth is the giver of all life (Royal). Paptuanuku is said to have given birth
to and nurture all of the life on earth and connects the land to femininity making women the basis for

The Code Of The Street Essay
In this paper, I plan to first describe the Code of the Street which is a term coined and a book written
by Elijah Anderson. I would also summarize and describe two journal articles that test Anderson s idea
of the Code of the Street for a more definite explanation. I will tell how the two articles that I have
chosen relates to some of the concepts that Anderson talked about in the book. I will then define
general strain theory and social learning or differential association theory. Lastly, I will explain how
general strain theory and social learning theory or differential association theory explain some of the
behaviors that were seen by the individuals in the book published by Anderson. I will point out some
of the individual s behavior and demonstrate whether it may lead to crime or whether the behavior was
learned in any way.
What does Elijah Anderson mean by the Code of the Street . ... the street culture has evolved a code of
the street, which amounts to a set of informal rules governing interpersonal public behavior,
particularly violence. The rules prescribe both proper comportment and the proper way to respond if
challenged. They regulate the use of violence and so supply a rationale allowing those who are
inclined to aggression to precipitate violent encounters in an approved way ( Anderson, 1999 p. 33)
According to Anderson, the Code of the Street is a set of rules bound to those who are found to be at

Almost everyone has some kind of leisure time whether it is a couple hours or a couple days. What
varies is the type of recreational activities people choose to do during that time. Although leisure and

Furthermore, during the winter months, basketball was the only sport I had access too because there
were indoor courts available. These environmental factors inclined me to choose basketball as my
main recreation in terms of competitive sport and now it is one of my favorite sports. It was hard for
me to engage in my previous recreational activities because nobody enjoyed playing soccer or cricket.
This constrained my choices in terms of what kind of recreational activities I wanted to do. Another
factor that separated me from playing sports such as soccer and cricket were economic factors. During
the winter season, the only way I could play these sports was if I joined the indoor leagues but these
leagues were quite expensive. Coming from a middle class family, these extra expenses were hard to
manage and sustain. Soon it became too much and so I had to quit and find other recreational activities
to do in my leisure. Due to these various sociocultural factors, my involvement in certain sports was
severely hampered while other sports such as basketball were immensely facilitated.
Another environmental factor that really controls when I do my leisure is the area or locality where I
live. I do not live in a prestigious area and thus there are many things lacking such as recreation
centers and gyms. Your built environment influences how physically active you are because you are

1.7 LITERATURE REVIEW:
1. John. P. Maggard (1) (1976) says that positioning strategy is a universal coverage of positioning. It
is not a single distinct but includes many closely related concepts. Maggard talks about positioning as
a conceptual vehicle, head on positioning, social accountability positioning, and inclusion of interal

Emergency Medicine
Only in the emergency department can yoga save a patient s life. People snicker when I begin my
story this way but it s true. Once, a fifty year old African American woman was brought into our ED
with one hour of facial droop and weakness. We were immediately concerned for a stroke, and the
neurology team agreed. Imaging ruled out a hemorrhage, and neurology cleared us to use
thrombolytics, but the patient s blood pressure was a staggering 220/120. After maximum dose
nicardipine therapy, her pressures still hovered above the threshold for tPA. Time ticked away and we
grew anxious as the window for thrombolysis narrowed. I looked across to the patient s room and
noticed several of her family members bawling at the top of their lungs. That s not helping, I thought.
So I walked over to the howling family members and gently, diplomatically ushered them to the
waiting area. Then I approached the patient and noticed how panicked she appeared. I asked her to
follow along with me, and together we ran through a deep breathing exercise I learned in yoga class.
Five minutes later, I rechecked her pressures and they had finally fallen below the threshold. The
patient went on to receive her tPA and eventually left the hospital with mild residual deficits. Stories
like this are the reason emergency medicine motivates and excites me: the patients acuity allows us to
make an immediate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think the best feeling in the world is being able to stabilize a patient who comes in floridly septic, or
in shock with a vanishingly low EF, or with a bone shattering trauma. And it s not only acutely ill
patients who I enjoy caring for. I want to work with patients who are so scared about something that
they come to the emergency department for help. They may not be sick, but they re terrified and they
want to see a doctor. I know this feeling and if I can assuage these patients fears, that also

The Happiness Project By Gretchen Rubin
Making resolutions on the day of New Year s Eve is traditional, but most people don t stick with it.
Sticking to a goal is pretty hard to do, but in The Happiness Project Gretchen Rubin, author of the
New York Times Bestseller, focuses on different goals she wants to achieve throughout the year. Each
month she focuses on one goal to tackle the objective in such a short amount of time. Other than just
being a phenomenal writer, Gretchen is also a law school graduate, book club leader, blogger, wife
and mother of two. In my happiness project I will work on my patience, doing new activities, family,
health and friendships. I believe that Rubin s happiness project is effective, because it helped her boost
her happiness. Gretchen lists many goals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I want to become more positive about external events that have occurred to me personally. Daniel
Gilbert said, People overestimate how much impact both good and bad events will have on them in the
future (Happy). We overestimate how circumstance will have an affect on us. According to Emiliya
Zhivotovskaya, Approximately 50% of the variation in happiness across individuals in a population is
genetic, 10% of it is situational and, 40% of it is attributable to behavior and thought patterns (The
Biology of Happiness, pg 65). This shows us that only 10% of what happens to us does not affect our
happiness in any drastic way it depends on your perspective on the event. In the Sources of Happiness
it states, ..even though I d rather not be HIV positive, I have to admit that in some way it has
transformed my life... in positive ways... (Dalai Lama, 102). This man had some of a negative point of
view of the situation that he was in, but then he realized that he shouldn t be mad he should live life in
a positive way. This is just an obstacle that he can overcome. Another goal my happiness project will
have is to focus on achieving my intrinsic goals rather than extrinsic. Intrinsic are non materialistic
things like personal growth, sense of wanting to make the world a better place.People who form
intrinsic goals tend to be more happy with there life, unlike those who focus on

A Theory of Justice Presented by John Rawls Essays
In A Theory of Justice John Rawls presents his argument for justice and inequality. Rawls theorizes
that in the original position, a hypothetical state where people reason without bias, they would agree to
live in a society based on two principles of justice (Rawls 1971, 4). These two principles of justice are
named the first and second principles. The first is the equal rights and liberties principle. The second is
a combination of the difference principle and the fair equality of opportunity principle, or FEOP
(Rawls 1971, 53). Rawls argues that inequality will always be inevitable in any society (Rawls 1971,
7). For example, there will always be a varied distribution of social and economic advantages. Some
people will be wealthier than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, they have no concept of social standing or economic standing. The individuals are just
capable of reasoning and possess the goal of creating a just society (Rawls 1971, 17). The purpose of
the veil is to allow those in the original position to agree on rules pertaining to their own mutual
interests. Rawls thinks that behind the veil of ignorance, free of bias with rational thought, the
individuals would agree to a society governed by his two principles of justice (Rawls 1971, 53).
Individuals would agree to these principles because it would be the only way to ensure a fair initial
status quo in society (Rawls 1971, 53). This is important because it allows for justified inequalities
later that will be regulated instead of unjust inequalities. No one would want to make things unequal
from the start because they have no way of knowing their actual place in society behind the veil
(Rawls 1971, 11). For example, if someone suggested that all UCR students get free tuition at the cost
of students at other universities footing the bill, it would be within the individuals best interest to
disagree because he has no way of knowing if he is a UCR student in the society or one of the other
university students that now have to pay more. The idea of the original position is that a just society
would be fair and equal, and individuals behind the veil of ignorance would agree on Rawls two
principles of justice to make it so. Rawls s first principle

Famine In African Children Essay
Somalia s children are at imminent risk of starvation, and conditions are near famine. Parts of South
Sudan are already in the grips of famine. Children across East Africa including those in Ethiopia,
Kenya and the many who have fled to Uganda are fighting extreme hunger ( Save the children 1).
These are just some of the many examples of the pernicious childhood many children in Africa are
used to living these days. Those horrible situations Africa faces as a feature of genocidal denial, we
every now and again overlook that the weight of these monstrosities is disproportionately set on young
children. This essay will demonstrate how these frameworks of things give a helpful structure to
understanding danger in African kids advancement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Young boys called the lost boys are having to walk a thousand miles to escape their war ridden home,
and then had to make another flee in order to escape Ethiopia. But because of this, not only young

and little kids were taken toward the north to be sold as slaves. This shows that when the children

In a particular chapter in the novel Valentino, looked at the land. It looked exactly like the other side
of the river, the side that was Sudan, the side we left. There were no homes. There were no medical
facilities. No food. No water for drinking....already there were Sudanese adults spread out across the
fields, refugees who had arrived before us, lying on the ground, sick and dying. This was not the
Ethiopia we had walked for. (Valentino, 227). This quote suggests that Valentino s adventure, he has
been guaranteed that Ethiopia will be a position of security and freedom. But when he enters in
Ethiopia, the scene was an augmentation of the war torn Sudan. The novel gives the reader some

Psalms 8 Verses
Verse 1: The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork.
Everything God created, shows and proves that there is a God. But with the Big Bang theory,
people say that something exploded, and instead of destroying, they say this explosion created
something. Created the world. But even some of the smartest scientists in the world believe in the
Big Bang, but they themselves know that deep down, it s impossible. Only God could create the
world out of nothing.
Vers 2: Day unto day uttereth speech and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

when the crickets cricket and the moon comes up, it shows God s work. In Psalms 8 vers 9, it

Verse 8: The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is
pure, enlightening the eyes.
The doctrines of the Word of God have nothing crooked, froward, or perverse in them. They are in
every way righteous. The Bible cures the blindness of the soul.
Verse 9: The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and
righteous altogether.
The fear of the Lord is clean. This is clean in itself, and cleanses out the love of sin, sanctifying
the heart in which it reigns. The judgments of the Lord are true. Every punishment that God has
given to anybody, are perfect.
Verse 10: More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than
honey and the honeycomb.
The Bible s truth is more desirable than gold. Spiritual treasure is more noble and mere worldly
wealth. Spiritual treasure lasts. Gold doesn t. The sweetest joy is to have God s truth to be your
heritage.

First Performing An Advanced Search On The Achievement...
1.) I selected this research study to analyze by first performing an advanced search on the onesearch
databases for the Achievement Gaps of Black and White students in education. This research article
appeared in the results as I quickly looked over titles of interest. I then skimmed through both, the
abstract and the conclusion to make sure it was first a primary research study. After assuring that it
was a research study and not an analysis, I then looked over the format of the study to assess the level
of difficulty it will be to dissect and pull information from the article. This particular article stood out
to me from all of the other journals because this article assess achievement gaps from grades K 12,
while others only examine grade level achievements and disparities.
Reference: Robinson, K. (2010). Black White inequality in reading and math across K 12 schooling: A
synthetic cohort perspective. Review of Black Political Economy, 37, 263 273.
2.) As a foundation and a background for this research study, the researcher compared and analyzed
previous research studies performed by other researchers. As there is a plethora of research
information on the achievement gaps in schools, the research noted that most of the research was
executed in order to provide an understanding of the racial achievement gaps, but failed to assess the
patterns of inequality of students as they progressed from kindergarten throughout high school. The
information and understanding

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Accounting System
Accounting is an essential part in order for a business to operate, no matter the size is big or small,
accounting is still needed and equally important. Basically, accounting is dealing with the records of
transaction made in a period of time, analyzing transaction patterns and doing records such as payroll,
and counting taxes. In the end of the accounting process can study the health and the efficiency of the
business studied by looking at the information. Accounting is applied to all company because some of
the company has to show certain financial information to the government and public users; also,
accounting is a tool to help us in some business decision making.
There are generally two types of accounting system; they are manually ... Show more content on

The Malaysian Angel manufacturing company in Kota Kinabalu had been using manual accounting
records for more than 10 years, the new managing director then decide to change the old practice to a
new accounting system. There are a lot of benefits of computerizing the accounting records. Here are
some benefits for the Account Receivable area, Account Payable area, Inventory, Payroll and Revenue
Recording.
(i) Account Receivable means money owed by the customers, whether or not it is an individual or a
corporation. It is often called Debtors . Debtors are person who owes you money in exchange for

For This Film Analysis, I Viewed Two Movies. The Films
For this film analysis, I viewed two movies. The films viewed were Boys Don t Cry and A Soap. The
movies viewed had the common theme of sexuality. The 2 films both had themes regarding sexuality
and trangenderism. With that my thesis is, Sexuality and its affects and reactions in regards to
interpersonal and familial relationships.
To begin we start we the film that was viewed first, Boys Don t Cry. Boys Don t Cry offers an insight
to the impressions of sexuality and transgenderism in the 1990 s. Five minutes into the film it shows
Brandon Teena being chased by a mob of angry guys calling him a dyke (for him having slept with
one of the men s sisters ). That already shows there is hostility towards homosexuality and
transgenders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moving past this film onto the second film, A Soap, we find a more obvious contrast to the
environment set up in Boys Don t Cry. The main thing being there is no outright or violent hostility to
out transgender character. This film featured a male to female pre op transsexual Veronica. She can
basically walk around and talk to her neighbors wearing women s clothing and doesn t get any actual
hostility for it. The other main character Charlotte does occasionally poke fun with witty remarks but
it appears to be more in good fun than any actual disdain. The only time her language toward Veronica
becomes hostile is when she develops conflicting romantic feelings toward her and is drunk. But
essentially all other contact is cordial.
Same goes for familial interaction. The there is more of an air of disapproval in those conversations.
The mother does appear to still accept Veronica as her child for most of the movie. There is no
screaming match or violent undertones in their meeting. You can still tell the mother does have
resignations by still calling Veronica by her male name and by the fact that Veronica does not appear
to be wanted at family holidays like birthdays. Despite this she does still appear to care for her child
by visiting often and bringing gifts. And when she finds Charlotte in Veronica s home she does not
appear to condemn her presence but asks of her to watch over

Epistemological Position And A Qualitative Research Design
The approach of this study will take the epistemological position and a qualitative research design.
Humphries (2008) asserts that qualitative research focusses on the subjective and recognises that the
researcher will affect the data that is produced and therefore the outcome of the research. Denzin
Lincoln (2005:3) state that Qualitative researchers study things in their natural settings attempting to
make sense of, or to interpret, phenomena in terms of the meanings people bring to them .
Quantitative research on the other hand, claims to be objective, removing the researcher s views and
values from the study. While traditionally quantitative data has been deemed to produce more reliable
or valid data, it does not suffice to capture the complexities of the human experience as it assumes a
positivist epistemology.
This research has taken a narrative methodolgy as this approach recognises that realities are socially
constructed, and that human actions and agency are contingent on socio cultural, political and
historical influences (Gill and Goodson, 2011). Using in depth semi structured interviews will ensure
that trans people have the best opportunity to express their story and impart the information that they
feel is important to them. A structured interview approach would endanger the research in that the
questions would have to be chosen prior to data collection and therefore could reflect assumptions the
researcher had made and as the information shared is

What Does A Prayer For Owen Meany
Undoubtedly one of the most popular stories of the 21st century was Harry Potter, a series in which
readers follow the life of a twelve year old boy who learns that he is magical. Throughout the novels
aspects of magic are blended into the real world, portrayed by the setting Great Britain, which
contains a large proportion of non magical people, referred to as muggles. The way the author, J.K
Rowling, set the book up and blended these two aspects, magic and realism, is analogous to the way
John Irving wrote a Prayer for Owen Meany through the genre of magical realism. Furthermore, the
use of this genre allowed for the development of John Irving s main message. By setting the story in
the realistic town of Gravesend, New Hampshire, and incorporating the exceptional religious character
of Owen Meany, the author sets the scene to impart his thoughts upon readers. John Irving s main
message in a Prayer for Owen Meany is that not all people view the world using science and logical
reason. A realistic element of the story is that John and Owen were raised in the small town of
Gravesend, New Hampshire. To a reader who doesn t know that this town is in fact factitious, the
town might seem very realistic. Seeing as the town is comprised similarly to many towns during the
time period that Owen was set in, it would not be improbable that an unknowing reader might be lead
to believe that the setting of this story is a real town. In fact the town even has multiple churches such

Rhyme Scheme Of The Tyger By William Blake
William Blake was more than just a poet. He was an artist, a politician and a theologian. Blake was
born in 1757 and died in 1827, He was known for his artistic talent and political involvement. Born in
to a middle class family in London, Blake was one of 7 children born to his family, but only 5 of them
survived past infancy. Blake did not receive any formal schooling and mostly spent his days
wandering the streets of London (Poetry Fdn.). When he was ten he was enrolled in art school for
multiple years and when he was 14 he became an apprentice engraver to James Basire (Poetry Fdn.).
His work as an engraver allowed him to make money and continue to hone his artistic ability. Blakes
artistry is clearly seen in most of his poems, whether its his early political works such as America or
his classic lyric poems like The Tyger . (Poetry Fdn.). In The Tyger William Blake unconventionally
questions the creation of the world through rhyme scheme, deep imagery, and conflicting ideas. ...

The poem is a trochaic tetrameter meaning it consists of 8 syllables per line starting with a stressed
then unstressed syllable. The rhyming pattern of the poem is aabb, ccdd, eeff, gghh, iijj, and then
ending with a repeated aabb. The interesting thing about The Tyger is that it contains a catalexis,
which means that the last foot of every line is missing a syllable. Blake uses the catalexis in The Tyger
to stress certan images, such as In what distant deeps or skies. / Burnt the fire of thine eyes? (Lines 5
6). The readers are left with these vivid details that keep the poem interesting. Another purpose of the
catalexis is in keeping the poem abrupt. It gives the poem a harsh almost aggressive tone, one that
reflects the speaker s view of the tiger and the God who made it. Blake uses the structure of the poem
to fit the aggressive tone he writes

In contrast to Cryptography, where the enemy is allowed to detect, intercept and modify messages without being able to violate certain security premises guaranteed by a cryptosystem, the goal of Steganography is to hide messages inside other harmless messages in a way that does not allow any enemy to even detect that there is a presence of second message [1]. Both steganography and cryptography are meant for secret communication but the approach is different. Hiding of secret message using steganography can be done in different forms like text steganography, image steganography, audio steganography and video steganography. Encoding secret messages in audio is the most challenging task while using steganography because human auditory system (HAS) is more perceptive than human visual system (HVS) [5]. Symptoms of exposure may be immediate or delayed for several hours after exposure. Weather plays a key part in how effective the use of blister agents can be when being deployed on an enemy. There are three major types of blister agents that can be categorized as such: sulfur mustard, nitrogen mustard, and Lewisite and halogenated oximes. Blister agents have some very particular traits verses other chemical weapons that are out there. • 6. A Group Of Philosophers All Get Together At A Man Named... In Plato s Symposium, a group of philosophers all get together at a man named Agathon s house and eventually decide to give speeches on love. The men all take turns giving their various speeches on Love, each attacking the idea of Love in a different way. Phaedrus talks about Love s origins and how Love encourages people to be virtuous, Pausanias makes the distinction between Common Love (love of body) and Celestial Love (love of mind), Eryximachus talks about how Love promotes balance, Aristophanes talks about how Love is about people continually searching for their other half (quite literally), but how people can never find this other half, so people will never be whole, and finally Agathon talks about Love s beauty and Love s desire for beauty. When Socrates speaks, he starts off by saying that he will give the truth about Love, which he claims no one else did. He proves this by questioning Agathon s speech, asking how Love can both be beautiful and desire beauty when people do not desire what they already have. Furthermore, Socrates recounts a conversation about Love with Diotima, whose view of Love combines parts of all the other speeches into one truth about love. True love is passing on one s ideas through celestial love in order to live forever. The clearest part of Diotima s argument about love is that people use love to make themselves immortal. After Diotima has finished incorporating the ideas of every speech about Love into one giant truth about love, she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, in the novel, The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien, there is a main character named Bilbo Baggins who is a hobbit. Bilbo changes throughout the story because he is a dynamic character. He becomes courageous, adventurous, and learns to use his wits as the story develops. Let me go into further detail with this. First of all, he gains courage in the story. Before he went on this adventure, he was timid and to himself. This is because hobbits didn t go on anything dangerous, especially adventures. This all changes as soon as Bilbo goes on this journey with Gandalf and the dwarves. We see our first example of this when he tries to steal from the three huge, nasty ... We see his adventurous side when he saves his friends from the prison of the wood elves. He could ve just left them or begged the wood elf to free them, but he decided to wait for his one chance and escape with his friends. He stole the keys from one of the elves, set them free, put them into barrels and sent them all down the river. Now tell me what he did was not out of the ordinary or the least bit of adventurous. We also see his speech starting to change into an adventurer s when he says, I tell you the gold was only an afterthought with us. We came over hill and under hill for revenge. • 16. Why Do People Join Organized Religion Question 1 I honestly think that people, in general, want to feel a sense of belonging and that there is something greater than themselves guiding us through our day to day lives. In many instances, people believe in a God/Entity because it is a part of their culture and is held in high regard. Both in years past to present religion has played a major role in the way we as people view ourselves and each other. An example of why people join an organized religion would be for the purpose of social status. An example of that I would say is Scientology. From the outside looking in it really looks like this group is particularly seeking out the rich and famous to join the church. There are Scientology churches that are specifically for their rich and famous members to attend. Yet the less fortunate members are treated with less grandeur. That really seems like it s all about the status/money the church gains from its members and the status the members gain by joining this church. I bring this up because the original idea of joining a religion was to worship the most high and to learn to live by the rules set forth for its follower. The majority of believers are believers because the religion was handed down to them and they genuinely feel that the belief and practices are right for them and their families. The coin in the fish s mouth, walking on the water, and raising of Lazarus from the dead, are just a minute amount, out of approximately thirty six. The miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand is just one of the many. Feeding of the multitude is the only miracle besides the resurrection that is present in all four of the Gospels; Matthew 14: 13 21, Mark 6: 31 44, Luke 9: 10 17, and John 6: 1 15. Jesus performed this miracle of feeding the multitude of five thousand, with only five barley loaves of bread and two fish. The basic meaning of all four gospels is the same with a few slight differences. The amount of five thousand did not include the women or children. The World Of The Maori Essay Maori Women The Maori people sailed to the islands of New Zealand from other Polynesian Islands such as the Cook Islands, Tonga, and Samoa, arriving from about 1250 to 1300 CE. There the Maori organized into tribes, called iwi, and developed a warrior culture because of the lack of resources on the islands. Yet Maori culture inside the tribes became based around the community precisely from the lack of resources as well. The collective mindset means, as described by Annie Mikaere, who is a modern Maori woman and activist, that in a tribe, each individual has specific roles to fill in order for the society to function properly. Embracing an overall egalitarian lifestyle, Maori women were allowed to play a greater role in society and help to shape it. The fusion of the land and the goddess is attributed to the Maori belief that they were formed from the land and that the earth is the giver of all life (Royal). • 24. Emergency Medicine Only in the emergency department can yoga save a patient s life. People snicker when I begin my story this way but it s true. Once, a fifty year old African American woman was brought into our ED with one hour of facial droop and weakness. We were immediately concerned for a stroke, and the neurology team agreed. Imaging ruled out a hemorrhage, and neurology cleared us to use thrombolytics, but the patient s blood pressure was a staggering 220/120. After maximum dose nicardipine therapy, her pressures still hovered above the threshold for tPA. Time ticked away and we grew anxious as the window for thrombolysis narrowed. I looked across to the patient s room and noticed several of her family members bawling at the top of their lungs. That s not helping, I thought. So I walked over to the howling family members and gently, diplomatically ushered them to the waiting area. Then I approached the patient and noticed how panicked she appeared. I asked her to follow along with me, and together we ran through a deep breathing exercise I learned in yoga class. Five minutes later, I rechecked her pressures and they had finally fallen below the threshold. The patient went on to receive her tPA and eventually left the hospital with mild residual deficits. Stories like this are the reason emergency medicine motivates and excites me: the patients acuity allows us to make an immediate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, Approximately 50% of the variation in happiness across individuals in a population is genetic, 10% of it is situational and, 40% of it is attributable to behavior and thought patterns (The Biology of Happiness, pg 65). • 26. A Theory of Justice Presented by John Rawls Essays In A Theory of Justice John Rawls presents his argument for justice and inequality. Rawls theorizes that in the original position, a hypothetical state where people reason without bias, they would agree to live in a society based on two principles of justice (Rawls 1971, 4). These two principles of justice are named the first and second principles. The first is the equal rights and liberties principle. The second is a combination of the difference principle and the fair equality of opportunity principle, or FEOP (Rawls 1971, 53). Rawls argues that inequality will always be inevitable in any society (Rawls 1971, 7). For example, there will always be a varied distribution of social and economic advantages. Some people will be wealthier than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, they have no concept of social standing or economic standing. The individuals are just capable of reasoning and possess the goal of creating a just society (Rawls 1971, 17). The purpose of the veil is to allow those in the original position to agree on rules pertaining to their own mutual interests. Rawls thinks that behind the veil of ignorance, free of bias with rational thought, the individuals would agree to a society governed by his two principles of justice (Rawls 1971, 53). Individuals would agree to these principles because it would be the only way to ensure a fair initial status quo in society (Rawls 1971, 53). This is important because it allows for justified inequalities later that will be regulated instead of unjust inequalities. No one would want to make things unequal from the start because they have no way of knowing their actual place in society behind the veil (Rawls 1971, 11). For example, if someone suggested that all UCR students get free tuition at the cost of students at other universities footing the bill, it would be within the individuals best interest to disagree because he has no way of knowing if he is a UCR student in the society or one of the other university students that now have to pay more. The idea of the original position is that a just society would be fair and equal, and individuals behind the veil of ignorance would agree on Rawls two principles of justice to make it so. Children across East Africa including those in Ethiopia, Kenya and the many who have fled to Uganda are fighting extreme hunger ( Save the children 1). These are just some of the many examples of the pernicious childhood many children in Africa are used to living these days. I selected this research study to analyze by first performing an advanced search on the onesearch databases for the Achievement Gaps of Black and White students in education. This research article appeared in the results as I quickly looked over titles of interest. I then skimmed through both, the abstract and the conclusion to make sure it was first a primary research study. After assuring that it was a research study and not an analysis, I then looked over the format of the study to assess the level of difficulty it will be to dissect and pull information from the article. This particular article stood out to me from all of the other journals because this article assess achievement gaps from grades K 12, while others only examine grade level achievements and disparities. The movies viewed had the common theme of sexuality. The 2 films both had themes regarding sexuality and trangenderism. With that my thesis is, Sexuality and its affects and reactions in regards to interpersonal and familial relationships. To begin we start we the film that was viewed first, Boys Don t Cry. Boys Don t Cry offers an insight to the impressions of sexuality and transgenderism in the 1990 s. Five minutes into the film it shows Brandon Teena being chased by a mob of angry guys calling him a dyke (for him having slept with one of the men s sisters ). That already shows there is hostility towards homosexuality and transgenders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moving past this film onto the second film, A Soap, we find a more obvious contrast to the environment set up in Boys Don t Cry. The main thing being there is no outright or violent hostility to out transgender character. This film featured a male to female pre op transsexual Veronica. She can basically walk around and talk to her neighbors wearing women s clothing and doesn t get any actual hostility for it. The other main character Charlotte does occasionally poke fun with witty remarks but it appears to be more in good fun than any actual disdain. The only time her language toward Veronica becomes hostile is when she develops conflicting romantic feelings toward her and is drunk. But essentially all other contact is cordial. Same goes for familial interaction. The there is more of an air of disapproval in those conversations. The mother does appear to still accept Veronica as her child for most of the movie. There is no screaming match or violent undertones in their meeting. You can still tell the mother does have resignations by still calling Veronica by her male name and by the fact that Veronica does not appear to be wanted at family holidays like birthdays. Despite this she does still appear to care for her child by visiting often and bringing gifts. • 33. Epistemological Position And A Qualitative Research Design The approach of this study will take the epistemological position and a qualitative research design. Humphries (2008) asserts that qualitative research focusses on the subjective and recognises that the researcher will affect the data that is produced and therefore the outcome of the research. Denzin Lincoln (2005:3) state that Qualitative researchers study things in their natural settings attempting to make sense of, or to interpret, phenomena in terms of the meanings people bring to them . Quantitative research on the other hand, claims to be objective, removing the researcher s views and values from the study. While traditionally quantitative data has been deemed to produce more reliable or valid data, it does not suffice to capture the complexities of the human experience as it assumes a positivist epistemology. This research has taken a narrative methodolgy as this approach recognises that realities are socially constructed, and that human actions and agency are contingent on socio cultural, political and historical influences (Gill and Goodson, 2011). Using in depth semi structured interviews will ensure that trans people have the best opportunity to express their story and impart the information that they feel is important to them. A structured interview approach would endanger the research in that the questions would have to be chosen prior to data collection and therefore could reflect assumptions the researcher had made and as the information shared is ... • 34. What Does A Prayer For Owen Meany Undoubtedly one of the most popular stories of the 21st century was Harry Potter, a series in which readers follow the life of a twelve year old boy who learns that he is magical. Throughout the novels aspects of magic are blended into the real world, portrayed by the setting Great Britain, which contains a large proportion of non magical people, referred to as muggles. The way the author, J.K Rowling, set the book up and blended these two aspects, magic and realism, is analogous to the way John Irving wrote a Prayer for Owen Meany through the genre of magical realism. Furthermore, the use of this genre allowed for the development of John Irving s main message. By setting the story in the realistic town of Gravesend, New Hampshire, and incorporating the exceptional religious character of Owen Meany, the author sets the scene to impart his thoughts upon readers. John Irving s main message in a Prayer for Owen Meany is that not all people view the world using science and logical reason. A realistic element of the story is that John and Owen were raised in the small town of Gravesend, New Hampshire. To a reader who doesn t know that this town is in fact factitious, the town might seem very realistic. Seeing as the town is comprised similarly to many towns during the time period that Owen was set in, it would not be improbable that an unknowing reader might be lead to believe that the setting of this story is a real town. In fact the town even has multiple churches such as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Blake was born in 1757 and died in 1827, He was known for his artistic talent and political involvement. Born in to a middle class family in London, Blake was one of 7 children born to his family, but only 5 of them survived past infancy. Blake did not receive any formal schooling and mostly spent his days wandering the streets of London (Poetry Fdn.). When he was ten he was enrolled in art school for multiple years and when he was 14 he became an apprentice engraver to James Basire (Poetry Fdn.). His work as an engraver allowed him to make money and continue to hone his artistic ability. Blakes artistry is clearly seen in most of his poems, whether its his early political works such as America or his classic lyric poems like The Tyger . (Poetry Fdn.).
