Design of Negative Resistance Oscillator with Rocord Low Phase NoiseTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
The aim of this paper is to use a new design of a negative resistance microwave oscillator in order to fabricate oscillator with very good performance in terms of output power, efficiency, stability and phase noise. In this study the new concept of oscillator using distributed resonator and micro-strip circuit elements improve performances of our structure. A micro-strip microwave oscillator with low phase noise based on an NPN silicon planar epitaxial transistor has been designed, fabricated, and characterized. In this design, each step has been conducted by using Advanced Design System (ADS) and following a theoretical study which enable to optimize the different performances of the whole circuit. The oscillator produce a sinusoidal signal with spectrum power of 12.25 dBm at 2.45 GHz into 50 Ω load when polarized at Vcc=15V with DC to RF efficiency of 16. The obtained phase noise of -120 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz offset is the result of the use of high Q factor resonator and the depth study of the parameters of the oscillator. Simulation and measurement results are in good agreement.

DESIGN OF A LOW POWER MULTIBAND CLOCK DISTRIBUTION CIRCUIT USING SINGLE PHASE...IJERA Editor
The clock distribution network consumes nearly 70% of the total power consumed by the integrated circuit since
this is the only signal which has the highest switching activity. Normally for a multiband clock domain network
we develop a multiple PLL to cater the need. This project aim for developing a low power true single phase
clock(TSPC) multiband network which will supply for the multi clock domain network. In this paper, a wide
band 2/3 prescaler is verified in the design of proposed wide band multimodulus 32/33/47/48 or 64/65/78/79
prescaler. A dynamic logic multiband flexible integer-n divider based on pulse swallow topology is proposed
which uses a low power wide band 2/3 prescaler and a wide band multimodulus 32/33/47/48 or 64/65/78/79
prescaler. Since the multimodulus 32/33/47/48 or 64/65/78/79 prescaler has a maximum operating frequency of
6.2GHz, the values of P and S counters can actually be programmed to divide over the whole range of
frequencies. However the P and S counter are programmed accordingly. The proposed multiband flexible
divider also uses an improved loadable bit cell for swallow counter and consumes a power of 0.96 and 2.2mW.
This project is highly useful and recommended for communication applications like Bluetooth, Zigbee, IEEE
802.15.4 and 802.11 a/b/g WLAN frequency synthesizers which are proposed based on pulse swallow topology.
This design is modelled using Verilog simulated tool „MODELSIM 6.4b‟ and implemented and synthesized
using „Xilinx ISE 10.1‟.
This paper relates the new topology and simulations of a fully differential CMOS active filter for mm wave band applications. The advantages of the differential topology over the single ended one are discussed and the quality factor is tuned to insure application requirements, including narrow bandwidth and high selectivity due to a differential negative resistance that reuses the filter’s current. Using this topology enables independent tuning of the quality factor and low power consumption while compensating the resistive loss of the filter. Very high filter performance was obtained with the simulated active inductor based active filter that was designed using CMOS 0.35 µm technology from AMS foundry and that resonates at 30 GHz with a high quality factor of Q > 500.

In this paper, a low-power single-phase clock multiband flexible divider for Bluetooth, Zigbee, and IEEE 802.15.4 and 802.11 a/b/g WLAN frequency synthesizers The frequency synthesizer was implemented using a charge-pump based phase-locked loop with a tri-state phase/frequency detector and a programmable pulse-swallow frequency divider. Since the required frequency of operation can be as high as 1.4GHz, the speed of the digital logic used in the frequency divider is a critical design factor. A custom library of digital logic gates was designed using MOS current-mode logic (MCML). These gates were designed to operate at frequencies up to 1.4GHz. This report outlines the design of the phase/frequency detector and the programmable pulse-swallow frequency divider. The design, layout, and simulation of the MCML logic family are also presented.

Extremely Low Power FIR Filter for a Smart Dust Sensor ModuleCSCJournals
Digital filters are common components in many applications today, also in for sensor systems, such as large-scale distributed smart dust sensors. For these applications the power consumption is very critical, it has to be extremely low. With the transistor technology scaling becoming more and more sensitive to e.g. gate leakage, it has become a necessity to find ways to minimize the flow of leakage in current CMOS logic. This paper studies sub-threshold source coupled logic (STSCL) in a 45-nm process. The STSCL can be used instead of traditional CMOS to meet the low power and energy consumption requirements. The STSCL style is in this paper used to design a digital filter, applicable for the audio interface of a smart dust sensor where the sample frequency will be 44.1 kHz. A finite-length impulse response (FIR) filter is used with transposed direct form structure and for the coefficient multiplication five-bit canonic signed digit [7] based serial/parallel multipliers were used. The power consumption is calculated along with the delay in order to present the power delay product (PDP) such that the performance of the sub-threshold logic can be compared with corresponding CMOS implementation. The simulated results shows a significant reduction in energy consumption (in terms of PDP) with the system running at a supply voltage as low as 0.2 V using STSCL.
In this research, we present a low phase noise (PN) and wide tuning range 175 GHz inductors and capacitors (LC) voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) based on a differential Colpitts oscillator that was designed using a 0.13 μm bipolar complementary metal oxide semiconductor (BiCMOS) and simulated. The square of the tank Q-factor and the square of the oscillation amplitude were both maximized to reduce PN. With an extensive examination of parasitic, mathematical analysis of load impedances, and implementation of differential design, the PN was reduced, and the output power was enhanced. Using a supply voltage of 1.6 V, the VCO consumes 41.9 mA, resulting in a total power usage of 67 mW to prevent undesirable PN deterioration, an inter-stage LC filter at the VCO-buffer interface increases the swing at the buffer input. To make a better output, a buffer is used to isolate the load from the VCO core. In addition, the VCO has a high linearity and the overall, the VCO presented in this study demonstrates excellent performance and has the potential to be used in a wide range of applications that require a high-performance, low-power VCO.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
A 2.4–3.6-GHz Wideband Subharmonically Injection-Locked PLL With Adaptive Injection Timing Alignment Technique
1. A 2.4–3.6-GHz Wideband Sub-harmonically Injection-
Locked PLL with Adaptive Injection Timing Alignment
Technique
ABSTRACT:
This paper proposes a wideband sub harmonically injection-locked PLL (SILPLL)
with adaptive injection timing alignment technique. The SILPLL includes three
main circuit blocks: one-oscillator-period constant-delay (OOPCD) divider,
timing-adjusted phase detector (TPD), and pulse generator (PG). The proposed
injection timing alignment technique can align the injection timing adaptively in a
wide range of the output clock frequency using the two blocks (OOPCD and TPD)
and a falling edge locking scheme of pulses. It can avoid the risk that SILPLL may
lock to the wrong frequency or even fail to lock. The PG block is used for half-
integral injection to relax the tradeoff between the phase noise of SILPLL and the
output frequency resolution. The OOPCD circuit occupies a negligible area. After
the injection timing alignment is finished, the OOPCD is powered off so that no
extra power is consumed. The SILPLL is implemented in the 65-nm 1P9M CMOS
process. It consumes 8.6 mW at 1.2 V supply and occupies an active core area of
1×0.6mm2 . The measured output frequency range is 2.4∼3.6 GHz with an output
frequency resolution of 200 MHz and the phase noise is−127.6 dBc/Hz at an offset
of 1 MHz from a carrier frequency of 3.4 GHz. The rms jitter integrated from 1
2. kHz to 30 MHz is less than 112 fs for all the covered frequency points. Under the
supply voltage range from 1.1 to 1.3 V and the temperature range from −20 °C to
70 °C, the rms jitter variation of all the covered frequency points is less than 27 fs,
which shows good robustness over environmental variation. The proposed
architecture of this paper analysis the logic size, area and power consumption using
Tanner tool.
