The Agile Stakeholder Management Framework for Teams, Programs, and PortfoliosDrew Jemilo
Stakeholder management is one of the most important responsibilities of a Product Owner. It can also be one of the biggest land mines if you don't continuously inspect and adapt your planning and communication. How do you interact with your stakeholders based on their level of interest and the degree of influence they have over your team's success or failure? In this session, you will learn how to apply the stakeholder management framework to:
1. Identify, analyze, prioritize, and engage your stakeholders
2. Manage expectations through the continuous process of setting expectations, acting on them, reviewing them, and resetting them
3. Build your communication plan using the stakeholder mapping technique and the Net Promoter Score (NPS) to plot your sponsors, major stakeholders, minor stakeholders, and subject matter experts
4. Gain consensus with your stakeholders regarding their rights and responsibilities
5. Scale to the program and portfolio levels

Public relations is an essential part of marketing, but if you've never approached or worked with a journalist before, it could be a little intimidating. Where do you start? Who do you reach out to? What should you say?
Thankfully, PR isn't rocket science. But it does take planning and commitment. Because PR coverage is earned, not paid, you have to be extra careful and strategic about who to pitch and how to work with the press.

Stakeholder analyses describe a process where all the individuals or groups that are likely to be affected by a proposed action are identified and then sorted according to how much they can affect the action and how much the action can affect them. This information is used to assess how the interests of those stakeholders should be addressed in a project plan, policy, program, or other action.

Cultivating Diverse and Inclusive Organizations via Social IntelligenceGleb Tsipursky
Are humans fully rational creatures? While most of us would say "no," unfortunately too many organizations act as if their employees are driven only by logic and reason. However, much recent research shows that humans are mostly driven by emotions and our evolutionary background has resulted in a series of mental errors – called cognitive biases – that result in tribal behaviors, undermining diversity and inclusion initiatives. To address such problematic behaviors, we need to understand the emotional drivers that result in tribalism and undercut diversity and inclusion, and thus damage motivation and engagement, increase discord and turnover, and create a toxic internal culture. Cultivating diversity and inclusion thus requires a grasp of organizational social intelligence, the ability to understand and shape the emotions and social interactions of stakeholders within an organization. Attendees will learn social intelligence research-based strategies customized to the needs of HR professionals and get free access to a web-based app that helps address such cognitive biases and effectively cultivate diversity and inclusion within an organization.
Learning Objectives
1. Uncover how our evolutionary heritage inhibits diversity and inclusion
2. Assess how well your organization engages people emotionally
3. Discover the implications of recent social intelligence research on how to improve diversity and inclusion within your organization
4. Learn to use a specific web-based app to help cultivate socially intelligent, diverse, and inclusive organizations.

His expertise in these areas comes from extensive consulting and coaching for leaders in businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities, as well as his strong research background with over two decades at the Ohio State University and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and dozens of peer-reviewed publications. Gleb is proud of his civic activism as the volunteer President of the Board of the nonprofit organization Intentional Insights, which popularizes the research on wise decision-making and emotional and social intelligence for a broad audience. He authored the #1 Amazon bestseller The Truth Seeker’s Handbook: A Science-Based Guide, and was featured in Fast Company, CBS News, Time, Scientific American, Psychology Today, The Conversation, Business Insider, Government Executive, Inc. Magazine, and many other venues. He has nearly two decades of professional speaking experience on three continents and gets top marks from audiences.
The first stage of this is brainstorm who your stakeholders are. The next step is to prioritise them by power and interest, and to plot this on a Power/Interest grid. The final stage is to get an understanding of what motivates your stakeholders and how you need to win them around.

Storytelling, Social Movements and the Prevention of Child Abuse and NeglectJim McKay
This presentation from Ben Tanzer, Director of Strategic Communications for Prevent Child Abuse America, explores the latest research about communications and messaging related to child abuse prevention.
This article spotlights a collaborative partnership approach to develop and garner support for Healthy and Smart, a HIV/AIDS prevention curriculum strategy. Focus is purposely placed on an action research methodology based in theory and evidence. The programmatic method is incremental and encompasses a transdisciplinary and culturally appropriate approach. In particular, our method instigates effective social change and public policy by forming collaborative partnerships. The essence of collaborative partnerships with key public policy and administrative actors is its alignment with a nation’s social development policy position. Critical to the development of a comprehensive action research approach is investing time to explore each social factor fully. Healthy and Smart HIV/AIDS Prevention Program for Youth exemplifies a participatory program development model for public managers.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
