Unknown Mistakes you may be making while
promoting your brand on Social Media -1
Social media is used by many for marketing and branding. Yet, despite such a
widespread usage, social media is damaging the brand rather than doing any value
addition. Here is a rundown of mistakes that marketers might not know they are
doing while working with social media:
1. Keeping the content type same
What do you post on social media? Industry news, share your blog etc. If you keep
repeating the same pattern, it is going to be monotonous. Your audience would
eventually move out.
2. Keeping your social media followers out of the marketing funnel
You have got many followers on social media. But have you added them in your
marketing list? If you are missing the link, you are going to bear the consequences
in the result of losing on building on long term relationships. Confused? Not know
how to start? Offer an e-book in exchange of email addresses of your social media
followers.
3. No response to customers questions, comments or suggestions
If you are not paying heed to the genuine feedback customers give you, why would
they be bothering again. Understand a simple thing – the time you spend on writing
and posting the stuff for your readers should be equal to the time you spend
reading and responding to the comments and questions being asked by them.
4. Not posting as per your target audience
Is your writing intended for your target? Do you put yourself in their shoes before
posting or tweeting. Have you ever given a though as to what is my customer
thinking of my product or brand? If not, you will get an answer where are you
missing.

  • 1. Unknown Mistakes you may be making while promoting your brand on Social Media -1 Social media is used by many for marketing and branding. Yet, despite such a widespread usage, social media is damaging the brand rather than doing any value addition. Here is a rundown of mistakes that marketers might not know they are doing while working with social media: 1. Keeping the content type same What do you post on social media? Industry news, share your blog etc. If you keep repeating the same pattern, it is going to be monotonous. Your audience would eventually move out. 2. Keeping your social media followers out of the marketing funnel You have got many followers on social media. But have you added them in your marketing list? If you are missing the link, you are going to bear the consequences in the result of losing on building on long term relationships. Confused? Not know how to start? Offer an e-book in exchange of email addresses of your social media followers.
  • 2. 3. No response to customers questions, comments or suggestions If you are not paying heed to the genuine feedback customers give you, why would they be bothering again. Understand a simple thing – the time you spend on writing and posting the stuff for your readers should be equal to the time you spend reading and responding to the comments and questions being asked by them. 4. Not posting as per your target audience Is your writing intended for your target? Do you put yourself in their shoes before posting or tweeting.
