8TH GRADE TECHNOLOGY RUBRIC
* Standards, benchmarks, and grade level expectations will be written as number:number:grade:
 standard 1, benchmark 1 will be written as 1:1:8th. All will be scored on a 4-1 proficiency
leveling, with 3 showing fulfillment of 8th grade level proficiencies.
* The type of assessments are listed below; formative (work-in-progress) assessments will be
sent as students are learning skills while summative assessments will be part of project grades.

3:2:8th: Gather, enter, and analyze data using a spreadsheet, independently.

3:3:8th: Develop keyboard capabilities to use touch typing techniques at a level of 25 WPM
         and 90% accuracy on three minute timing.

Standard 4: The student will demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop
   innovative products and processes using technology.
4:1:8th: Apply existing knowledge or research to generate a product using technology,
         independently.

8th Grade Technology Scoring Rubric

  • 1. 8TH GRADE TECHNOLOGY RUBRIC * Standards, benchmarks, and grade level expectations will be written as number:number:grade: standard 1, benchmark 1 will be written as 1:1:8th. All will be scored on a 4-1 proficiency leveling, with 3 showing fulfillment of 8th grade level proficiencies. * The type of assessments are listed below; formative (work-in-progress) assessments will be sent as students are learning skills while summative assessments will be part of project grades. formative (skills check) assessment summative (project) assessment Name: Grade: 8 th Assessment / work covered: Standard 1: The student will understand human, cultural, and social issues related to the access of information and practice legal and ethical behavior. 1:1:8th: Demonstrate responsible use of community property. 1 2 3 4 1:2:8th: Cite print/electronic information sources. 1 2 3 4 Standard 2: The student will employ the appropriate tools to gather, evaluate, and use information. 2:1:8th: Locate library materials with advance search methods. 1 2 3 4 2:2:8th: Use advanced search techniques to navigate multiple site searches, independently. 1 2 3 4 Standard 3:The student will demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations. 3:1:8th: Develop a document using a word processing program including headers/footers and adjusting margins, independently. 1 2 3 4 3:2:8th: Gather, enter, and analyze data using a spreadsheet, independently. 1 2 3 4 3:3:8th: Develop keyboard capabilities to use touch typing techniques at a level of 25 WPM and 90% accuracy on three minute timing. 1 2 3 4 Standard 4: The student will demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. 4:1:8th: Apply existing knowledge or research to generate a product using technology, independently. 1 2 3 4
