Process
• To start off my production, I began
with using photoshop to start
creating my character. I thought if
I began with my character I could
then begin my background and
other objects that my game will
include after I know how the pixel
character would look and fit into
this. I used the pencil tool to begin
designing the character for my
game. As my game is a fashion
theme my character is a female in
a dress with a white ethnicity. I
thought this would suit my game
well, I also began designing
objects that will be part of my
video game such as handbags and
pieces of clothing that the
character will either dodge or
collect.
Process
We then went on to begin our
music soundtracks on a
website called beep box. I had
never used this website before
but I picked it up pretty quickly
and found it simple and easy to
use. I made two sound tracks
for my game. Obviously my
second was more improved
and professional as I didn’t
have any experience when I
made my first, but I got the
hang of it quickly and it wasn’t
time consuming which was
good.

Process
• When I first began creating my video game, I felt a bit rushed and didn’t feel like I had
prepared or planned how I wanted my game to look. I thought I had a lot of experience
with designing my own pixel characters as I had practiced with my irn bru project,
however I underestimated how hard it would be to do this. I really struggled with my
background too- it took me a long time to work out how I wanted it to look and I think I
was making it more complex for myself than I should of. I had a very complicated idea
for how my character would be collecting the objects and items of clothing, therefore I
changed this to fit my experience with video gaming. I made it a simple left to right
movement and this worked a lot better. I enjoyed designing and creating my characters
and background. The background was the most time consuming part of my production.
I found as I went on I got better at creating my pixels quicker and more detailed. My
home screen didn’t take me as much time as my background, which I think is because I
got used to the tools and ways to make it look more professional.
