The student created the opening slide for their video game production project, which took two lessons to complete. They put effort into setting a good standard of work. For the next slide, the student researched different video game backgrounds to get inspiration. They designed the background starting with basic elements like walls and color scheme. Once the walls and floor were complete, more detailed background objects were added like a staircase. The most time consuming part was animating the character, which required creating different character movements. Sound effects were then added using Beep Box, which the student was familiar with from prior use.

2. At the beginning of the week I started to create my opening page. Where
you get to decide which level to choose, I included a lot of effort in this part
as I thought it was important to keep up a good standard of work
throughout the video. I used inspiration from another photo so that I could
see how to make the scene look effective. It took around two lessons to
complete the first slide. I like the opening slide because I like that the game
gives you an option to choose different levels.
Then when I was starting the next slide I started by briefly looking at
different video game backgrounds. I had done enough research of this
different backgrounds during the research power point at the beginning of
the project but I wanted to look again just o familiarise myself with different
backgrounds that I could take potential ideas from.

3. Then I started to design the background, starting with the basic factors, e.g.
where the walls were and what colour scheme I wanted the room to be
designed around. I already knew what I wanted my colour scheme to look like
because I had planned it in my initial plans power point, however being given
more freedom to edit and create colours give me an opportunity to explore
other colours that looked more suitable for my game. Once I had finished the
walls and floor I began introducing more detailed parts of the background. I
started by designing the still objects in the room, for example, the staircase.

4. Process
After the background I continued by creating the objects in the room that
were animated, so the bookcase that moved right so that we could find one
of the keys, the bat moves across, the book the falls of the shelf and the
skulls at the front of the staircase. After these I started animating my
character. This was the most time consuming part of the project because I
had to make so many different characters with different movements.

5. Process
After creating the character and
the background I was finished the
visual element of my game I
started creating the sound for my
game. We used Beep Box to create
the music and we’ve used the
website before so I was familiar
with how to use it.
