Production Reflection

Process
This is my final production, it’s an action-adventure video
game. To create this I used a software called
“Photoshop” I created the setting for my video game
using a number of different tools within Photoshop,
“Pencil” “Stroke” “Colour Select” as you can see I have
chosen to go with a “city theme” throughout my game.
When I first started my production it didn’t look the way
that it has turned out now. It now looks a lot more
detailed and its clear to see each action that is made
when playing the game. To create the buildings I used
the Pencil tool, to draw the shape of each one, when I
used the Colour Select tool to colour each building, to
give it a sense of realism. I also created the character,
using the same tools, I also gave my character some
fading, around his face to make him look slightly realistic.
I also made the gun that you can see my character
holding, I found that this took time to recreate, and to
make sure that I got the right shape. I also used walking
sound effects in this scene and throughout my game. I
feel by adding sound effects, really brought it to life. I
also created the clouds using the pencil tool and colour
select.
Process
Moving through the game my character comes across a
policeman in a car, and fires at the policeman. To create
the firing out of the gun, I used the Colour select tool, I
used the colours orange and yellow, because I felt as if
these were the most realistic colours to use. In this scene I
also used sound effects of the gun shot to bring this scene
to life. To create the police car I used a number of
different colours, I found that this was the most time
consuming prop throughout the whole game. When it
came to the colours for this crop I needed to make sure it
actually resembled a police car, to do this I looked at pre-
existing 8 Bit police cars, and as you can see I have given
the car an American theme. I have also added another
sound effect in this scene, that being a police siren for
when the police car comes in to shot.
Process
During this scene, my character shoots the policeman, to
do this I have to select the bullet and move it gradually
towards the policeman until I thought it was at a good
stage to then go further. This can be somewhat time
consuming, because I had to make a frame for each
movement that I did. Also you can see that the path that
both characters are placed on is detailed, I have even
managed to recreate pot holes, that you find on a
pavement or road in real life. I did this by using the pencil
tool to draw the outline of each hole and colour select
tool to add colour to the outline, by doing this it brought
it to life, I also used the stroke tool to give it more detail.
Process
During this scene, my character shoot the policeman
and I have made it so when he gets hit he turns red,
this will then symbolize that he has been shot. To do
this I made a copy of the policeman, then used the
colour select tool to turn him red. I picked this
colour, because it indicates danger, and negativity.
Also when viewing the game, my audience will see
the colour red straight away because it’s one of the
most vibrant colour. When it comes to different
sound effects for my game I used a “Walking”,
“Police Siren” and I have also used an 8 Bit version of
Bring Me The Horizon- Throne. I decided to use this
song, because I thought that it would go well with
the theme of my game, also because the song itself
is 8 Bit and so is my game.

  • 2. Process This is my final production, it’s an action-adventure video game. To create this I used a software called “Photoshop” I created the setting for my video game using a number of different tools within Photoshop, “Pencil” “Stroke” “Colour Select” as you can see I have chosen to go with a “city theme” throughout my game. When I first started my production it didn’t look the way that it has turned out now. It now looks a lot more detailed and its clear to see each action that is made when playing the game. To create the buildings I used the Pencil tool, to draw the shape of each one, when I used the Colour Select tool to colour each building, to give it a sense of realism. I also created the character, using the same tools, I also gave my character some fading, around his face to make him look slightly realistic. I also made the gun that you can see my character holding, I found that this took time to recreate, and to make sure that I got the right shape. I also used walking sound effects in this scene and throughout my game. I feel by adding sound effects, really brought it to life. I also created the clouds using the pencil tool and colour select.
  • 3. Process Moving through the game my character comes across a policeman in a car, and fires at the policeman. To create the firing out of the gun, I used the Colour select tool, I used the colours orange and yellow, because I felt as if these were the most realistic colours to use. In this scene I also used sound effects of the gun shot to bring this scene to life. To create the police car I used a number of different colours, I found that this was the most time consuming prop throughout the whole game. When it came to the colours for this crop I needed to make sure it actually resembled a police car, to do this I looked at pre- existing 8 Bit police cars, and as you can see I have given the car an American theme. I have also added another sound effect in this scene, that being a police siren for when the police car comes in to shot.
  • 4. Process During this scene, my character shoots the policeman, to do this I have to select the bullet and move it gradually towards the policeman until I thought it was at a good stage to then go further. This can be somewhat time consuming, because I had to make a frame for each movement that I did. Also you can see that the path that both characters are placed on is detailed, I have even managed to recreate pot holes, that you find on a pavement or road in real life. I did this by using the pencil tool to draw the outline of each hole and colour select tool to add colour to the outline, by doing this it brought it to life, I also used the stroke tool to give it more detail.
  • 5. Process During this scene, my character shoot the policeman and I have made it so when he gets hit he turns red, this will then symbolize that he has been shot. To do this I made a copy of the policeman, then used the colour select tool to turn him red. I picked this colour, because it indicates danger, and negativity. Also when viewing the game, my audience will see the colour red straight away because it’s one of the most vibrant colour. When it comes to different sound effects for my game I used a “Walking”, “Police Siren” and I have also used an 8 Bit version of Bring Me The Horizon- Throne. I decided to use this song, because I thought that it would go well with the theme of my game, also because the song itself is 8 Bit and so is my game.
