Paul s Missionary Journeys and Epistle Correlates
Paul s Missionary Journeys and Epistle Correlates The missionary journeys of Paul cover a major
portion of the Book of the Acts of the Apostles (commonly shortened to Acts). Acts demonstrates, at
least in part, how the journeys relate to the writing of the Epistles or letters to various congregations
that needed encouragement or some other word from Paul, and when they were written. The three
journeys happened in close relation to one another and were meant to spread the Gospel message to
the unsaved and encourage those who had come to believe on the Son of Man. The letters were written
as an inspiration from the Father to further the understanding of believers regarding the perfect life of
a Christian. This papers describes in short form the three missionary journeys of Paul and how they
relate, chronologically, to Paul s writing of the epistles. Missionary Journeys The first element of the
journeys was who traveled with Paul. He went on the first with Barnabas and Mark. Barnabas was
regarded as a coworker and Mark as an apprentice or helper according to Niswonger (1992, 209). The
second journey was much longer, as concerns distance, but did not take as much time and was
accomplished with Silas. The third journey is a solo one apparently (McGee, 1998). The approximate
dates of the three journeys are First from 45 AD to 47 AD, Second from 51 AD to 53 AD and Third
from 54 AD to 58 AD (McGee, 1998). Of course all of these dates are somewhat speculative, but they

The Removal Of American Indian Tribes
Long ago on the great plains, the buffalo roamed and the Native Americans lived amongst each other.
They were able to move freely across the lands until the white men came and concentrated them into
certain areas. Today there are more than five hundred different tribes with different beliefs and history.
Native Americans still face problems about the horrific history they went through and today s
discrimination. The removal of American Indian tribes is one of the most tragic events in American
history. There are many treaties that have been signed by American representatives and people of
Indian tribes that guaranteed peace and the values of the Indian territories. The treaties were to assure
that fur trade would continue without interruption. The American people wanting Indian land has led
to violent conflict between the two. Succeeding treaties usually forced the tribes to give up their land
to the United States government. There were laws made for Native American Displacement that didn t
benefit the Native Americans, these laws still have long lasting effects on them today, and there was a
huge number of Native Americans killed for many reasons. Cultural differences between the English
and Native Americans took a toll of the Native American population. Throughout the Northeast,
making scalps out of the redskins was very common during the war times. Colonists were paid for
every Native they killed. for a scalp of a male adult it was fifty pounds, for a scalp of a

Protest On The Protest
On August 14, Colin Kaepernick, a San Francisco 49ers quarterback, sat during the national anthem.
Before anyone really noticed, he sat the following two games as well, then it finally became viral. It
wasn t laziness that caused him to sit, nor an injury, but a peaceful protest. Kaepernick sat to protest
rampant police brutality and injustice against black people in the United States. This protest became a
topic widely debated during the presidential election, and eventually when drafting season came
around for football, Kaepernick was blackballed from joining any teams because of this controversy.
The American people had a lot to say about how protest should be peaceful without disrespect, which
they say Colin could have had avoided doing, but they fail to realize that protest isn t supposed to
cater to your convenience. Protest is a fundamental right Americans have. Whether it be walkouts
from schools or marching in the streets, protest is effective when it s done en mass, and what better
way to get the message out than on TV, where millions of Americans tune in to watch beefy men
throw an egg shaped ball around.
Primarily, people came to the initial conclusion that Kaepernick sitting for the anthem is incredibly
disrespectful to the U.S. soldiers currently fighting right now and those who have died in battle. The
most popular saying being Soldiers died for that flag! However, the flag does not represent the
military in any fashion. In fact, the U.S. army actually has

Chikungunya Chikungunya is virus infection which is transmitted mainly by mosquitoes. This occurs
when a mosquito feeds on an infected mosquito and becomes infected itself with the virus. From there
on the people that the mosquito bites also become infected. In very rare occasions it has also been
known for a mother to transfer the virus to her newborn around the time of birth but there have not
been any cases where the virus has been transferred to a baby through breastfeeding. Hypothetically
the virus could also be transferred through blood transfusion but there have been no known cases so

treatments include resting, preventing dehydration by drinking lot of fluids, and taking
acetaminophens or paracetamol to treat pain and fevers (2). Chikungunya outbreaks have been known
to occur in five different regions Africa, Asia, Europe and the Indian and Pacific Oceans. In 2013 the
first incidents were found in the Americas and since then 45 countries in the Americans have reported
cases amounting to over 1.7 million. in the United Sates specifically an average of 28 cases were

In 2013 the first local transmissions of the virus were found in in cases involving travelers from

Culture Of The Philippines
Culture is the shared patterns of behaviors and interactions, cognitive constructs, and affective
understanding that is learned through a process of socialization. These shared patterns, identify the
members of a culture group while also distinguishing those of another group. Five major
characteristics of a Philippine culture include family, beliefs, customs, food, and language. In this
essay geography and military conflict history, weather analysis, and civil considerations will be
discussed. I will also cover how the terrain and infrastructure, communication, and past military
conflicts impacted their society. Population, agriculture, smuggling, and insurgency effected by the
weather. How areas, structures, capabilities, organizations, people and events affect the civilian
populace. Lastly about the society, social structure, culture, language, power and authority, and
interests of the Philippines. The geography and past conflicts of the Philippines have drastically
shaped the socio culture of the Philippines. Being an archipelago of 7,107 islands, it has caught the
interests of the Spanish and Japanese. The Spanish American War of 1898 and the also during World
War II when the Japanese invaded the Philippines. With the number of islands the Philippines have,
the navies played a significant role in the invasions. The Philippine archipelago has more than 1,490

The Hero Of Pat Tillman
The name of my hero is Pat Tillman, he is my hero because he is an American warrior and he served
our country proud and I respect that.Pat Tillman was an American Soldier he served in the army and
was killed in friendly fire and gave up one something that he dreamed of all his life, and what he had
worked for, just to help out our country in war. A hero to me is someone you makes you proud, believe

because they want to make the people who look up to them proud.

The Library Tab On The Bucks County Community College Website
As we become more dependent on the internet and technology and less on books it is important for
learners to be information literate so they can determine reliable sources from unreliable ones. With
the use of C.R.A.A.P.P Test, the Bucks County Community College databases, and information
literacy I was able to obtain and use information found in my five sources for my second information
speech on the telephone. The majority of my sources were found using the databases under the library
tab on the Bucks County Community College website. The first database I used was EBSCOhost
because it s a general database that covers all subjects and many types of resources, with scholarly and
non scholarly articles. Through the EBSCOhost database I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The currency of the article is very recent and can still be useful in my paper because of how long ago
the telephone was invented. The purpose of this article seems to educate children on the history of the
telephone. I chose this article because it was a short general summary on the history of the telephone
and about Alexander Graham Bell. This article did not provide all the details I needed for my paper
but was good overview of information I could use in my paper. The next article I used was also from
EBSCOhost called Thank You, Mr. Bell by Brian Croft. Croft is a consultant of the Towers Perrin in
Toronto. The article was published by Workforce which is a business magazine for leaders in human
resources covering all aspects of personnel and human resources management. This article was
published in January of 1997. Even though the article was published 20 years ago, it is still a relevant
source for my topic of the telephone considering the telephone was invented in 1876. Both of my
articles from this database had the authors name, creditability, and month/year it was published
somewhere in the article, making it easy to be accessed. This made the two articles from EBSCOhost
my favorite because I did not have to search for these things and found the articles reliable. I chose
this article because it was very long and detailed about how the invention of the telephone came about.

Observation Paper On The Empire State Building
Tihun Lowe
ARC 2701
Observation Paper (Empire State Building)
The Empire State Building is a skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Its
construction began on March 17, 1930, and was completed on April 11, 1931. John Jacob Raskob, the
creator of General Motors, wanted a building that would have been taller than Walter Chrysler s
building. He went to William Lamb, someone who was a partner at the architectural firm of Shreve,
Lamb, and Harmon and he explains to him his dream of a skyscraper that would exceed the Chrysler
Building. When the Empire State Building was being made, there were only two criteria that were
needed to be followed during the construction: the first one was that it must resemble a pencil. The
second criteria were that it must soar higher than any other structure in the world. Although the
building had many setbacks during the construction of it the building ended up finishing 45 days
ahead of schedule and on top of that the building ended up being $5 million dollars under budget.
The Empire State Building was then viewed as a new symbol of what felt like a New America. During
the 1920s and the 1930s, the United States was being split from an old style of rural traditions and
eventually was beginning to make modern urban traditions. When the Empire State Building was
being built, it began to fuel the power and wealth of the clients who were children of immigrants, this
then served as a legitimacy status began to represent the face of the

The Availability Of Fast Food Essay
The availability of fast food is contributing to the rise of Obesity in New Zealand
Question 1: Explain the view point and find evidence to support the view
I believe that some people have this view because fast food outlets usually consist of fatty foods. This
means that people who don t have much time or money can easily go out and buy food for themselves
and their children. Studies show that New Zealand fast food consumption was an estimated 2 3 kgs
per person per year. Studies also show that nearly $2000 is spent on fast foods every year. In
Cambridge alone there are multiple fast food outlets. These include KFC, McDonalds, Dominoes,
Pizza hut etc. because these foods are extremely high in fats when they are a consumed they cause
people to gain wait. If you eat these foods once a week they will not really harm you but if you eat it
regularly and do no exercise often you will become obese. This is the problem that is happening in
New Zealand. Instead of people just buying them once a week people are buying them 3 to 4 times a
week and it s causing their diets to be unhealthy. In Cambridge and Hamilton there are healthy options
available these can include Subway, Kebabs, and local bakeries that sell sandwiches etc.
Question 2: Gather evidence for and against different points of views?
The professionals say that policies should be put in so that they cannot advertise junk foods so that
kids do not go out and buy it. There has been 3000 institutions of professionals who

Elizibethan Religious Settlement Essay
Elizabethan Religious Settlement
The Elizabethan Religious Settlement was Elizabeth I s response to the religious divisions created
over the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI and Mary I. This response, described as The Revolution of
1559 ,[1] was set out in two Acts of the Parliament of England. The Act of Supremacy of 1559 re
established the Church of England s independence from Rome, with Parliament conferring on
Elizabeth the title Supreme Governor of the Church of England, while the Act of Uniformity of 1559
set out the form the English church would now take, including the establishment of the Book of
Common Prayer.
When Mary died in 1558, Elizabeth succeeded to the throne. One of the most important concerns

The queen also appointed a new Privy Council, removing many Roman Catholic counsellors by doing
so. Queen Elizabeth I of England reached a moderate religious settlement which became controversial
after her death. Act of Uniformity
The Act of Uniformity 1558, which required the population to attend Sunday service in an Anglican
church, at which a new version of the Book of Common Prayer was to be used, passed by only three
votes.[5] The Bill of Uniformity was more cautious than the initial Reformation Bill. It revoked the
harsh laws proposed against Roman Catholics, it removed the abuse of the Pope from the litany and
kept the wording that allowed for both a subjective and objective belief in the Real Presence in the
Communion. After Parliament was dismissed, Elizabeth, along with Cecil, drafted what are known as
the Royal Injunctions, 1559. These were additions to the settlement and largely stressed some
continuity with the Catholic past: ministers were ordered to wear the surplice; wafers, as opposed to
ordinary baker s bread, were to be used as the bread at Communion. There had been opposition to the
settlement in the shires, which for the most part were largely Roman Catholic, so the changes are often
said to have been made in order to allow for acceptance of the

The 2008 Financial Crisis Essay
Introduction
In 2008, the world experienced a tremendous financial crisis which rooted from the U.S housing
market; moreover, it is considered by many economists as one of the worst recession since the Great
Depression in 1930s. After posing a huge effect on the U.S economy, the financial crisis expanded to
Europe and the rest of the world. It brought governments down, ruined economies, crumble financial
corporations and impoverish individual lives. For example, the financial crisis has resulted in the
collapse of massive financial institutions such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brother and AIG.
These collapses not only influence own countries but also international area. Hence, the intervention

Individual Sense Of Coherence
The current study elaborates on the experiment conducted by Sansgiry and Kavita (2006) by seeking
to identify if an individuals sense of coherence and coping mechanisms are predictors of testing
anxiety amongst college students. Sense of coherence is considered to be a key faculty contained with
an individual s personality, which responds to a stressful event. Furthermore, an increased sense of
coherence allows an individual to effectively cope with negative events or outcomes. Participants for
this study were given questionnaires prior to the final exam of the school year, which measured their
anxiety levels. Researchers for the experiment compared their anxiety levels with their final test
scores. The outcome of the experiment indicates that students who utilize emotions to cope with
stressful situations had a lower sense of coherence. Alternatively, those with higher sense of ... Show

Inventory which contains 15 questions to assess the subjects interference, confidence issues, worry

Results of the study indicated that individuals who had higher test anxiety prior to the start of the
experiment faired poorer than those who had lower anxiety scores. Alternatively, individuals with high
anxiety levels who were given a traditional fixed item test faired similarly to their low test anxiety
counterparts. One potential limitation of the experiment is that the results did not take into account the

Essay on Natural Gas Fracking Risks
Natural gas is said to be one of the most popular forms of energy today. In the past, often left
undeveloped and wasted, it was once considered unusable and worthless , compared to oil. In order to
try to break our country s dependence on foreign oil supplies, we have begun to dip into our own
natural gas supply. Natural gas is found underground, and is produced when trapped gas is released
above ground. Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a process that extracts natural gas from the ground.
As harmless as the billion dollar producing oil companies would want us to believe, environmental
groups, scientists, and average citizens have raised concerns about the negative impact of hydraulic
fracking on the environment and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As more and more natural gas locations are sprouting up so close to home, it makes sense to explore
the risks proven to be associated with fracking. Groundwater polluting of communities near natural
gas drilling sites, has been linked to fracking. At least 15 water wells in Rosebud, Alberta, have gone
bad since EnCana Corporation fracked into their aquifer in search of shale gas in 2004 (Nelson 25).
By fracking into the aquifer, the chemicals used in the process undoubtedly contaminated the drinking
water of the area. Nelson also reports of Rosebud resident, Jessica Ernst and her family s experience
with fracking. Ms. Ernst stated that Encana gas told her family that they would never fracture near her
family s aquifer. By 2005, Ms. Ernst says that her water started going bad, she was receiving horrible
burns and rashes from showering, and her dogs refused to drink the water so that is when she began to
pay attention (Nelson 25). It is a horrible thought that a person could get burnt taking a shower in their
own home or not be able to provide their pets safe water to drink. In 2006, Ernst decided to go public,
showing reporters how she could set fire to her tap water, and speaking out about the industry (Nelson
25). One gas company recently bought out the town of Dimock, Pennsylvania, for $4.1 million
because fracking made the water completely undrinkable (Nelson 26). It makes one wonder how large

Information Technology Issues And Procedures
The information technology issues and procedures involved in ensuring a successful business
contingency plan revolve around the effective system analysis and design process. The phases of
system analysis and design involved include preliminary study, feasibility study, system analysis,
system design, coding/programming, testing, implementation and finally maintenance. Preliminary
study is the first step, and it involves just a brief study of the business system to be put in place. This
enables the developers to have an overview of how the physical system will be. Once the management
approves the preliminary study, feasibility study commences. This process estimates the operational,
economical, technical and scheduled effectiveness of the system to users. System analysis involves
breaking down the entire business process into smaller processes and doing a detailed study on them.
This is with a view to understanding how information flows to improve the system processes
(Williams, Hardy Holgate, 2013). System design is the most vital phase where the system analysis
logic is implemented into a physical system. System design process commences with the general
design; where costs of the system building blocks are estimated. Then finally the detailed design
process is implemented which involves designing output and input of the system data. Programmers
then code the system design into a workable code Testing then follows; where a system test run is
done to identify and remove

Essay on Christina Rossetti’s Goblin Market
Christina Rossetti s poem, Goblin Market, was written in the Victorian era during a time of vast social
change across Europe. Though the Victorian period was a time of female suppression and order,
Rossetti exposed social stigmas and ideologies that are displayed through the journey of two sisters,
Laura and Lizzie. Despite initial impressions of a childhood fairytale, the suggestive and multi
interpretive use of language signifies an underlying message of erotic sexual commentary and feminist
views. In addition, Rossetti conveys moral lessons by illustrating consequences of the goblin s
seduction. Through the sister s experience with the goblins, the power of sisterhood becomes
undeniable. Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market serves as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ironically, Rossetti s portrayal of seduction is in stark contrast to accepted notions of the Victorian
period in that the male characters signify dangerous temptation, not the troubled females. The goblin
men confirm this contradiction by representing the venomous effects that experienced seductive men
have on innocent naive women. Rossetti s ironic gender split exemplifies her progressive attitude of
feminist thought while also serving as a depiction on the principles of Victorian society. In addition,
the feminist view of sexuality is evident throughout Rossetti s poem. Laura and Lizzie s magical
experience portrays the pursuit for sensual awareness while struggling between physical identity and
spiritual salvation. Furthermore, She clipped a precious golden lock, she dropped a tear more rare than
pearl, then sucked their fruit globes fair or red, sweeter than honey from the rock (ll. 126 29) and
sucked until her lips were sore (l. 136). With blatant sexual undertones, this pivotal moment signifies
the character s transition from maiden to woman or innocence to experience. Additionally, this
exchange could be a metaphor for Laura s relinquishment of her sacred virginity. As Laura falls sicker
and slowly begins to deteriorate, Rossetti illustrates the consequences of succumbing to the temptation
of men s deceit and the importance of remaining pure. With use of vivid imagery, Rossetti further
emphasizes the animalistic and uncanny

judgmental, and speaking from your own experiences, we want our parents to feel comfortable in
discussing concerns they may have but more so Parent Café is for parents to encourage each other. I

George Orwell s Stance on Capital Punishment in Essay, A...
The essay A Hanging by George Orwell speaks to the reader about the author s stance on capital
punishment. I believe that Orwell was able to communicate his point, without actually saying I m
against capital punishment, through three steps. The first step is to set the mood and bring you into his
perspective. From the dreary description of the morning to the slow procession of the condemned man
to the gallows, Orwell puts the reader in a mood that conveys the experience of watching a man die.
The second step is to compare himself to the condemned man, showing how we are all equal. A life is
a life, whether you are a condemned man or not. The third step is to show how everyone tries to cope
with the aftermath of the execution. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When he talks about the wrongness of taking a man s life, I get the sense that this was something that
shook him to the core. This was a basic human reaction to death. Death is unpleasant and generally
unwelcome, so why must we kill someone who is just as alive as we are? The condemned man feels,
sees, and thinks like us, an equal. The condemned man was considered equal by the dog in the essay. I
see the dog as symbolism for equality. It did not matter to the dog that the man was sentenced to
death. He was another human being, a potential friend that was alive and well. After the execution, the
dog seemed to know the wrongness of not only his misbehaving but that of taking a life as well. I
think that everyone is an equal and that life is something special. Everyone seems to deal with death
differently. As the essay concludes, Orwell mentions how everyone was laughing and that it was a
homely and jovial scene. I do not think that I would be laughing after the death of someone who was
hung right in front of me. Most people tend to be solemn and sad after someone dies but certainly not
laughing. I believe that for some laughing is just a coping mechanism used to deal with the gravity of
what just happened. They feel extremely relieved that the terrible situation is over, yet I think the
memory remains with them. Others perhaps are heartless and think that the man deserved

Bill Cosby Medal Of Freedom Analysis
Some people are requesting the US government to revoke Bill Cosby s Medal of Freedom, after more
details have emerged in the rape allegations against the comedian. On Wednesday (July 15th),
President Obama addressed those seeking the revocation of Cosby s medal. There s no precedent for
revoking a medal. We don t have that mechanism, the President answered. While most people may
have expected President Obama to end his statement with that answer, he instead commented on what
he defines as rape. If you give a woman or a man, for that matter, without his or her knowledge, a drug
and then have sex with that person without consent, that s rape. This country, and civilized country,
should have no tolerance for rape, President Obama stated. Even though Cosby continues to deny the
rape allegations, an old deposition has surfaced and it now appears the rape accusations made by
countless women are true. During the deposition, Cosby admitted he had prescriptions for quaaludes
(a sedative), and he testified under oath that he gave a woman the sedative. Cosby was then asked if he
was going to use the quaaludes for women he wanted to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Running Machines For A Machine Shop
If you ve worked in a machine shop at all in the last 30 years, you know that anytime a machine is set
up, the operator is faced with an immeasurable number of choices. Everything about running
machines is about choosing from the many ways of doing it. There is definitely more than one way to
skin a cat when working in a machine shop. For example, think about one of the most simple machine
tools, the tried and true Bridgeport knee mill. We have all used one, maybe for 5 minutes to clean an
edge or for multiple days building intricate parts. Either way, you may not have noticed all the choices
you had when setting up and running the machine. Just to clean up that edge there were decisions
whether to use a vise or a clamp set. Or whether to use a power feed or not. Often you subconsciously
decide what axis you will be cutting with, what sort of tool holder to use, and many other physical
factors. One of the hardest decisions to make in all of this is what type of cutter to use. It seems
simple, many operators just grab an end mill; but to achieve a good quality cut and desired end mill
life, there is much more to it. To find out just how many choices there are, a quick search for ½ square
end mills at MSC brings up over 1500 choices. That s a lot of choices! So what do most of us do? Well
we grab one that looks like something that we have used before. But as we all very well know, doing
things the way we ve always done them is anything but the best way to work in the

Social Order Research Paper
In the alleged undeveloped social orders, components of radical political, monetary and social change
are broadly apparent. For sure such social orders have seen significant advances in industrial change,
mass transportation and correspondence, and also technology advances. In many parts of the world,
change of economics activities and their expulsion from the family and community settings and in
addition modifications in the family structure and labor market differing qualities is generally clear
(CCP, n.d). In many social orders, the transition procedure from traditional settings to modern settings
is moving along quick without the essential time period for modification. The same changes that took
Europe and North America eras to finish are accomplished inside a range of era in present day creating
social orders. Thus, the transition procedure is regularly described by disturbance, flimsiness, and fast
social disintegration.
Change is an inalienable piece of society. Social orders are always showing signs of change to adjust
themselves to the contemporary lifestyle. Social researchers generally utilize the term modernization

Southern Women During The Civil War Analysis
Historians of the Southern woman during the Civil War can come to no agreement concerning the
nature and the role of women in the conflict. According to A.P. Jones, author of The Flower of
Southern Womanhood, Southern women a hundred years ago were lazy, spoiled, and beautiful (22).
They cared only for themselves and subordinated their children, their husbands, and their servants to
their own interest s (22). Historians Harvey Lowe, on the other hand, contends that Southern women
were energetic, intelligent, and well trained in domestic and public service (66). Although not as

What went wrong in this example? A number of very bright people spent a lot of time re designing a
task to make it more efficient, but ended up with poorer performance, employee dissatisfaction, and
probably higher hiring and training costs. The well intentioned managers at Hovey and Beard ignored
the lessons of history. They introduced what most managers believed were methods to improve
efficiency without considering the likelihood of undesirable side effects. It was these side effects,
however, that caused efficiency to decline instead of increase. For these reasons, among others, this
chapter explains the development of management thought and shows why the application of some still
popular concepts and techniques do not always work out as planned.
EARLY MANAGEMENT
The practice of management can be traced back in time thousands of years. The Chinese bureaucracy
was, for example, fully developed into a hierarchy of officials based upon a merit rating system
perhaps as early as 1000 B.C. One of the most ancient terms used to describe the position of a
manager is that of vizier in Egypt. The title was in use around 1750 B.C. and probably earlier. The rule
of ten in the span of management was an Egyptian practice of allocating around 10 servants to each
supervisor. The ancient concepts

No Child Left Behind Standardization
The large change for standardization began with the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act
(NCLB) in 2001. According to professors of education Delilah David, Ingrid Haynes, Bernnell M.
Peltier Glaze, Summer Pannell, and head of Texas Marshall County school district, Carrie Skelton, the
NCLB was responsible for a number of undesirable consequences in school administration. Districts
became responsible for test scores from individual schools, creating pressures among administrative
officials to perform well. The act also made it easier for the federal government to become more
involved in education, primarily in its finances. Dr. Martin Wasserburg conducted an assessment of
lower income schools in an urban area and found that t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the NCLB has fallen far too short of its goal. Standardized testing has not only failed to help
disadvantaged students, but has hurt them and their districts as well (Wasserberg). Write more
The increase of standardization in education in the years following the NCLB s implementation
brought more undesirable consequences, one of them being the pressure placed on teachers to perform
well. More now than ever, teachers are accountable for the test scores and performances given by
individual students (Wiliam, Dylan). In fact, the main purpose of standardized testing is not to assess
the contextual knowledge of students, but rather to act as an assessment of teacher performance and
quality. Teachers are held more accountable for the scores of their students than the students
themselves are, despite the proven lack of control that teachers have over test scores. This particular
facet of the American education system sets us apart other developing countries, where students are
held as equally accountable to their scores as teachers are. According to Dylan Wiliam, two thirds of
the reasoning behind test scores can be traced back to socioeconomic factors, further showing that
teachers have a small influence in a student s test score, and that they should not be assessed based on
them alone.

His creations of Tesla and SpaceX are the stepping stones of getting there. Tesla s main purpose is to
eliminate fossil fuels by switching from gas to electric. Not only does fossil fuels ruin our atmosphere

because Elon wanted people to live on other planets. Sending humans to the moon and mars is very
expensive and Elon found a way to reduce the cost by saving the rockets and reusing them. When they
detach from the payload the shoot back to earth and using GPS land straight up on the platform. This
method saves a ton of money because they don t need to build a whole new rocket they can just use
their original one. Elon musk has solved the problem of fossil fuel travel by creating all electric cars.
Though they are expensive he is trying to lower the cost of his cars to make them more affordable. His
mission with SpaceX is still in the works. He has not sent a human to mars but he is sending rockets
and satellites into space. He says that he wants to send supplies to mars beforehand so they have more
room on the shuttle when they do send humans to mars. He also plans on sending a full greenhouse on

Uber
Strengths
Uber has an extremely wide outreach with their business functioning across 60 countries, and
counting.
The tie up that Uber has with Paytm enables very easy payment on the go for most customers as they
do not have to have cash on them at the moment of the ride.
Uber, with their Paytm collaboration, has the possibility for a customer to share their bill with other

Weaknesses
Demand for Ola is increasing rapidly and despite being financially sound, catching up to this pace is
difficult.
Overall, the body language and demeanour of the drivers is not as polite as that of others in the
industry.
As in Uber, the pricing structure that fluctuates this much is not something that is taken well by
customers.
Their technology standards are not as strong as Uber.
Their promotions, although catching up, are not as strong as Uber s.
Opportunities
Their fleet size is very large but the vehicle quality has major scope for improvement.
Offer additional incentives for repeat customers to ensure they can retain their customers as well as
attract more customers from competitors.
Expand further by acquisition.

Here are our best shopping tips, to help you along on your merry way.
Wear comfortable shoes! You ll be surprised how much walking there is to do along 5th avenue (in

and wear comfortable walking shoes.
Most small shops and boutiques won t take credit cards, so take a mix of cards and cash. There are
plenty of very safe ATMs both on 5th Avenue and all the malls.
You re here to buy jewellery, not wear it! Stay safe, keep belongings to a minimum (no flashy jewels
and watches) and avoid overly crowded shops, as they are favoured by pick pockets.
Beware of fakes, especially jewellery and artefacts. If buying a substantial piece of art, ask to meet the
artist personally. All reputable galleries will have no problem with this. When out buying silver, bring
along a small magnet (a Playa fridge magnet will do!) and test it against the piece of jewellery.
Magnets will not stick to real silver but will stick to most other metals. Look for the 925 engraving on

Narrative Essay About A Water Ride
Personal Narrative Draft 4:
In this story I will be talking about the amazing water ride in Universal studios, Singapore. I still
remember till this day, how many times I rode that ride. For last 7 years we have been going to a lot of
amusement parks like 6 Flags, Disneyland, MGM Studio, Lego Land, Epcot Center,Etc. When me, my
mom, my dad, and my sister jumped in the car, I was as ready as can be.
I was very excited when I read the map of Universal Studio. All of a sudden I became greedy and
wanted to go to the Harry Potter ride, Transformer ride, Indiana jones ride, Star wars ride, etc. While
we did all the rides, me and my Mom were doing some of the scary rides, while my dad and my sister
were doing some kid rides. My whole family continues this for hours until we came to the last ride.

Unfortunately I was correct. Anyways, when we reached the ride location, the waiting time on the gate
read 3 hours!!! Me and my Dad stared at other people go down, screaming, yelling, and getting wet on

The Fly By Katherine Mansfield
The story The Fly, n by Katherine Mansfield in 1922, paints the picture of an old man who referred to
as the boss, who is grieving from some sort of tragic event that happened to him. Continuing to read
through the story, the narrator goes on to inform the reader that the boss son was killed in World War I,
and that the boss is still reeling from the death of his son. From a little hinted symbolism we can
connect that the fly itself represents the grief that the boss is going through, while the inkwell and life
are two of the same, and that the ink blots are the boss attempts at trying to fight the grief that has
overcome his life due to the tragic event that transpired. When the narrator first talks about the fly, it is
at the moment that the boss is looking at the photograph of his son and talking about how he passed
away six years earlier. The fly is said to have fallen into his broad ink pot, and was trying feebly but
desperately to clamber out again. The fly is seen as trying to get out of the pot. Very feebly, the boss
helps the fly out of the pot with his pen. The fly in this story comes to represent the boss that the grief
is going through because no matter how hard the fly tries to get out of the pot by itself, it could not
without a little bit of help. Unlike Woodifield, who got over the death of his son, unlike Macey, who
was not close to the son, the boss could not get over the death of his son. In addition, we are told that
the boss has been

The Cause Of Gun Violence In The United States
In the past few weeks, my class has been working with the subject: gun violence. What does gun
violence mean? It stands for any gun used to cause harm or death.
A little help from a website shows that there are nearly 12 thousand gun murders a year in the US.
That number hasn t changed much since 1990. But in 2016 about 10 thousand has died and 22
thousand has been hurt. 500 children have died from guns this year.
Why do so many people die in America you may ask? It s because Americans have the right to carry a
gun in public and have a gun at home. That means that there are gun stores everywhere in America. So
people can buy guns easily. That s called The Second Amendment. America sells about 5 million
firearms a year. That s including 2 million

  • 2. Paul s Missionary Journeys and Epistle Correlates Paul s Missionary Journeys and Epistle Correlates The missionary journeys of Paul cover a major portion of the Book of the Acts of the Apostles (commonly shortened to Acts). Acts demonstrates, at least in part, how the journeys relate to the writing of the Epistles or letters to various congregations that needed encouragement or some other word from Paul, and when they were written. The three journeys happened in close relation to one another and were meant to spread the Gospel message to the unsaved and encourage those who had come to believe on the Son of Man. The letters were written as an inspiration from the Father to further the understanding of believers regarding the perfect life of a Christian. This papers describes in short form the three missionary journeys of Paul and how they relate, chronologically, to Paul s writing of the epistles. Missionary Journeys The first element of the journeys was who traveled with Paul. He went on the first with Barnabas and Mark. Barnabas was regarded as a coworker and Mark as an apprentice or helper according to Niswonger (1992, 209). The second journey was much longer, as concerns distance, but did not take as much time and was accomplished with Silas. The third journey is a solo one apparently (McGee, 1998). The approximate dates of the three journeys are First from 45 AD to 47 AD, Second from 51 AD to 53 AD and Third from 54 AD to 58 AD (McGee, 1998). Of course all of these dates are somewhat speculative, but they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Removal Of American Indian Tribes Long ago on the great plains, the buffalo roamed and the Native Americans lived amongst each other. They were able to move freely across the lands until the white men came and concentrated them into certain areas. Today there are more than five hundred different tribes with different beliefs and history. Native Americans still face problems about the horrific history they went through and today s discrimination. The removal of American Indian tribes is one of the most tragic events in American history. There are many treaties that have been signed by American representatives and people of Indian tribes that guaranteed peace and the values of the Indian territories. The treaties were to assure that fur trade would continue without interruption. The American people wanting Indian land has led to violent conflict between the two. Succeeding treaties usually forced the tribes to give up their land to the United States government. There were laws made for Native American Displacement that didn t benefit the Native Americans, these laws still have long lasting effects on them today, and there was a huge number of Native Americans killed for many reasons. Cultural differences between the English and Native Americans took a toll of the Native American population. Throughout the Northeast, making scalps out of the redskins was very common during the war times. Colonists were paid for every Native they killed. for a scalp of a male adult it was fifty pounds, for a scalp of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Protest On The Protest On August 14, Colin Kaepernick, a San Francisco 49ers quarterback, sat during the national anthem. Before anyone really noticed, he sat the following two games as well, then it finally became viral. It wasn t laziness that caused him to sit, nor an injury, but a peaceful protest. Kaepernick sat to protest rampant police brutality and injustice against black people in the United States. This protest became a topic widely debated during the presidential election, and eventually when drafting season came around for football, Kaepernick was blackballed from joining any teams because of this controversy. The American people had a lot to say about how protest should be peaceful without disrespect, which they say Colin could have had avoided doing, but they fail to realize that protest isn t supposed to cater to your convenience. Protest is a fundamental right Americans have. Whether it be walkouts from schools or marching in the streets, protest is effective when it s done en mass, and what better way to get the message out than on TV, where millions of Americans tune in to watch beefy men throw an egg shaped ball around. Primarily, people came to the initial conclusion that Kaepernick sitting for the anthem is incredibly disrespectful to the U.S. soldiers currently fighting right now and those who have died in battle. The most popular saying being Soldiers died for that flag! However, the flag does not represent the military in any fashion. In fact, the U.S. army actually has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Observation Paper On The Empire State Building Tihun Lowe ARC 2701 Observation Paper (Empire State Building) The Empire State Building is a skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Its construction began on March 17, 1930, and was completed on April 11, 1931. John Jacob Raskob, the creator of General Motors, wanted a building that would have been taller than Walter Chrysler s building. He went to William Lamb, someone who was a partner at the architectural firm of Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon and he explains to him his dream of a skyscraper that would exceed the Chrysler Building. When the Empire State Building was being made, there were only two criteria that were needed to be followed during the construction: the first one was that it must resemble a pencil. The second criteria were that it must soar higher than any other structure in the world. Although the building had many setbacks during the construction of it the building ended up finishing 45 days ahead of schedule and on top of that the building ended up being $5 million dollars under budget. The Empire State Building was then viewed as a new symbol of what felt like a New America. During the 1920s and the 1930s, the United States was being split from an old style of rural traditions and eventually was beginning to make modern urban traditions. When the Empire State Building was being built, it began to fuel the power and wealth of the clients who were children of immigrants, this then served as a legitimacy status began to represent the face of the ... • 10. The Availability Of Fast Food Essay The availability of fast food is contributing to the rise of Obesity in New Zealand Question 1: Explain the view point and find evidence to support the view I believe that some people have this view because fast food outlets usually consist of fatty foods. This means that people who don t have much time or money can easily go out and buy food for themselves and their children. Studies show that New Zealand fast food consumption was an estimated 2 3 kgs per person per year. Studies also show that nearly $2000 is spent on fast foods every year. In Cambridge alone there are multiple fast food outlets. These include KFC, McDonalds, Dominoes, Pizza hut etc. because these foods are extremely high in fats when they are a consumed they cause people to gain wait. If you eat these foods once a week they will not really harm you but if you eat it regularly and do no exercise often you will become obese. This is the problem that is happening in New Zealand. Instead of people just buying them once a week people are buying them 3 to 4 times a week and it s causing their diets to be unhealthy. In Cambridge and Hamilton there are healthy options available these can include Subway, Kebabs, and local bakeries that sell sandwiches etc. Question 2: Gather evidence for and against different points of views? • 11. Elizibethan Religious Settlement Essay Elizabethan Religious Settlement The Elizabethan Religious Settlement was Elizabeth I s response to the religious divisions created over the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI and Mary I. This response, described as The Revolution of 1559 ,[1] was set out in two Acts of the Parliament of England. The Act of Supremacy of 1559 re established the Church of England s independence from Rome, with Parliament conferring on Elizabeth the title Supreme Governor of the Church of England, while the Act of Uniformity of 1559 set out the form the English church would now take, including the establishment of the Book of Common Prayer. It revoked the harsh laws proposed against Roman Catholics, it removed the abuse of the Pope from the litany and kept the wording that allowed for both a subjective and objective belief in the Real Presence in the Communion. After Parliament was dismissed, Elizabeth, along with Cecil, drafted what are known as the Royal Injunctions, 1559. These were additions to the settlement and largely stressed some continuity with the Catholic past: ministers were ordered to wear the surplice; wafers, as opposed to ordinary baker s bread, were to be used as the bread at Communion. There had been opposition to the settlement in the shires, which for the most part were largely Roman Catholic, so the changes are often said to have been made in order to allow for acceptance of the ... Groundwater polluting of communities near natural gas drilling sites, has been linked to fracking. At least 15 water wells in Rosebud, Alberta, have gone bad since EnCana Corporation fracked into their aquifer in search of shale gas in 2004 (Nelson 25). By fracking into the aquifer, the chemicals used in the process undoubtedly contaminated the drinking water of the area. Nelson also reports of Rosebud resident, Jessica Ernst and her family s experience with fracking. Ms. Ernst stated that Encana gas told her family that they would never fracture near her family s aquifer. By 2005, Ms. Ernst says that her water started going bad, she was receiving horrible burns and rashes from showering, and her dogs refused to drink the water so that is when she began to pay attention (Nelson 25). It is a horrible thought that a person could get burnt taking a shower in their own home or not be able to provide their pets safe water to drink. In 2006, Ernst decided to go public, showing reporters how she could set fire to her tap water, and speaking out about the industry (Nelson 25). Information Technology Issues And Procedures The information technology issues and procedures involved in ensuring a successful business contingency plan revolve around the effective system analysis and design process. The phases of system analysis and design involved include preliminary study, feasibility study, system analysis, system design, coding/programming, testing, implementation and finally maintenance. Preliminary study is the first step, and it involves just a brief study of the business system to be put in place. This enables the developers to have an overview of how the physical system will be. Once the management approves the preliminary study, feasibility study commences. This process estimates the operational, economical, technical and scheduled effectiveness of the system to users. System analysis involves breaking down the entire business process into smaller processes and doing a detailed study on them. This is with a view to understanding how information flows to improve the system processes (Williams, Hardy Holgate, 2013). System design is the most vital phase where the system analysis logic is implemented into a physical system. System design process commences with the general design; where costs of the system building blocks are estimated. Then finally the detailed design process is implemented which involves designing output and input of the system data. Programmers then code the system design into a workable code Testing then follows; where a system test run is done to identify and remove ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Essay on Christina Rossetti’s Goblin Market Christina Rossetti s poem, Goblin Market, was written in the Victorian era during a time of vast social change across Europe. Though the Victorian period was a time of female suppression and order, Rossetti exposed social stigmas and ideologies that are displayed through the journey of two sisters, Laura and Lizzie. Despite initial impressions of a childhood fairytale, the suggestive and multi interpretive use of language signifies an underlying message of erotic sexual commentary and feminist views. In addition, Rossetti conveys moral lessons by illustrating consequences of the goblin s seduction. Through the sister s experience with the goblins, the power of sisterhood becomes undeniable. Ironically, Rossetti s portrayal of seduction is in stark contrast to accepted notions of the Victorian period in that the male characters signify dangerous temptation, not the troubled females. The goblin men confirm this contradiction by representing the venomous effects that experienced seductive men have on innocent naive women. Rossetti s ironic gender split exemplifies her progressive attitude of feminist thought while also serving as a depiction on the principles of Victorian society. In addition, the feminist view of sexuality is evident throughout Rossetti s poem. Laura and Lizzie s magical experience portrays the pursuit for sensual awareness while struggling between physical identity and spiritual salvation. Furthermore, She clipped a precious golden lock, she dropped a tear more rare than pearl, then sucked their fruit globes fair or red, sweeter than honey from the rock (ll. 126 29) and sucked until her lips were sore (l. 136). With blatant sexual undertones, this pivotal moment signifies the character s transition from maiden to woman or innocence to experience. Additionally, this exchange could be a metaphor for Laura s relinquishment of her sacred virginity. As Laura falls sicker and slowly begins to deteriorate, Rossetti illustrates the consequences of succumbing to the temptation of men s deceit and the importance of remaining pure. I believe that Orwell was able to communicate his point, without actually saying I m against capital punishment, through three steps. The first step is to set the mood and bring you into his perspective. From the dreary description of the morning to the slow procession of the condemned man to the gallows, Orwell puts the reader in a mood that conveys the experience of watching a man die. Death is unpleasant and generally unwelcome, so why must we kill someone who is just as alive as we are? The condemned man feels, sees, and thinks like us, an equal. The condemned man was considered equal by the dog in the essay. I see the dog as symbolism for equality. It did not matter to the dog that the man was sentenced to death. He was another human being, a potential friend that was alive and well. After the execution, the dog seemed to know the wrongness of not only his misbehaving but that of taking a life as well. I think that everyone is an equal and that life is something special. Everyone seems to deal with death differently. As the essay concludes, Orwell mentions how everyone was laughing and that it was a homely and jovial scene. I do not think that I would be laughing after the death of someone who was hung right in front of me. Most people tend to be solemn and sad after someone dies but certainly not laughing. One of the most ancient terms used to describe the position of a manager is that of vizier in Egypt. The title was in use around 1750 B.C. and probably earlier. The rule of ten in the span of management was an Egyptian practice of allocating around 10 servants to each supervisor. The ancient concepts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. No Child Left Behind Standardization The large change for standardization began with the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) in 2001. According to professors of education Delilah David, Ingrid Haynes, Bernnell M. Peltier Glaze, Summer Pannell, and head of Texas Marshall County school district, Carrie Skelton, the NCLB was responsible for a number of undesirable consequences in school administration. Districts became responsible for test scores from individual schools, creating pressures among administrative officials to perform well. The act also made it easier for the federal government to become more involved in education, primarily in its finances. Dr. Martin Wasserburg conducted an assessment of lower income schools in an urban area and found that t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the NCLB has fallen far too short of its goal. Standardized testing has not only failed to help disadvantaged students, but has hurt them and their districts as well (Wasserberg). Write more The increase of standardization in education in the years following the NCLB s implementation brought more undesirable consequences, one of them being the pressure placed on teachers to perform well. More now than ever, teachers are accountable for the test scores and performances given by individual students (Wiliam, Dylan). In fact, the main purpose of standardized testing is not to assess the contextual knowledge of students, but rather to act as an assessment of teacher performance and quality. Teachers are held more accountable for the scores of their students than the students themselves are, despite the proven lack of control that teachers have over test scores. This particular facet of the American education system sets us apart other developing countries, where students are held as equally accountable to their scores as teachers are. According to Dylan Wiliam, two thirds of the reasoning behind test scores can be traced back to socioeconomic factors, further showing that teachers have a small influence in a student s test score, and that they should not be assessed based on them alone. SpaceX was formed because Elon wanted people to live on other planets. Sending humans to the moon and mars is very expensive and Elon found a way to reduce the cost by saving the rockets and reusing them. When they detach from the payload the shoot back to earth and using GPS land straight up on the platform. This method saves a ton of money because they don t need to build a whole new rocket they can just use their original one. Elon musk has solved the problem of fossil fuel travel by creating all electric cars. Though they are expensive he is trying to lower the cost of his cars to make them more affordable. His mission with SpaceX is still in the works. He has not sent a human to mars but he is sending rockets and satellites into space. I still remember till this day, how many times I rode that ride. For last 7 years we have been going to a lot of amusement parks like 6 Flags, Disneyland, MGM Studio, Lego Land, Epcot Center,Etc. When me, my mom, my dad, and my sister jumped in the car, I was as ready as can be. I was very excited when I read the map of Universal Studio. All of a sudden I became greedy and wanted to go to the Harry Potter ride, Transformer ride, Indiana jones ride, Star wars ride, etc. While we did all the rides, me and my Mom were doing some of the scary rides, while my dad and my sister were doing some kid rides. My whole family continues this for hours until we came to the last ride. Splash Mountain. I wish this wasn t the last ride. It looked so awesome and thrilling, I thought. Unfortunately I was correct. Anyways, when we reached the ride location, the waiting time on the gate read 3 hours!!! Me and my Dad stared at other people go down, screaming, yelling, and getting wet on the HUGE slide. • 38. The Fly By Katherine Mansfield The story The Fly, n by Katherine Mansfield in 1922, paints the picture of an old man who referred to as the boss, who is grieving from some sort of tragic event that happened to him. Continuing to read through the story, the narrator goes on to inform the reader that the boss son was killed in World War I, and that the boss is still reeling from the death of his son. From a little hinted symbolism we can connect that the fly itself represents the grief that the boss is going through, while the inkwell and life are two of the same, and that the ink blots are the boss attempts at trying to fight the grief that has overcome his life due to the tragic event that transpired. When the narrator first talks about the fly, it is at the moment that the boss is looking at the photograph of his son and talking about how he passed away six years earlier. The fly is said to have fallen into his broad ink pot, and was trying feebly but desperately to clamber out again. The fly is seen as trying to get out of the pot. Very feebly, the boss helps the fly out of the pot with his pen. The fly in this story comes to represent the boss that the grief is going through because no matter how hard the fly tries to get out of the pot by itself, it could not without a little bit of help. Unlike Woodifield, who got over the death of his son, unlike Macey, who was not close to the son, the boss could not get over the death of his son. In addition, we are told that the boss has been ... It stands for any gun used to cause harm or death. A little help from a website shows that there are nearly 12 thousand gun murders a year in the US. That number hasn t changed much since 1990. But in 2016 about 10 thousand has died and 22 thousand has been hurt. 500 children have died from guns this year. Why do so many people die in America you may ask? It s because Americans have the right to carry a gun in public and have a gun at home. That means that there are gun stores everywhere in America. So people can buy guns easily.
