What we will discuss…
● The problems we faced
● Our solution and process
● Our outcome
● Plans for the future
● Questions
6. The Problem…
● Paper, Paper, Paper!
● A different third party vendor
for each process
● Archaic review process
● Not seamless
● Required counselors and staff to
be physically in the office to view
and review applications
8. The Solution…(but for real though)
● New Dean of Admissions – gave way to a review of our process
● Previous experience with TargetX and going paperless
● CHANGE!
9. The Process…
● Late May purchased TargetX
● Early-Mid June – Initial training, trailheads, calls with project manager.
● June 25-27 – Attended summit. Held our first application discovery session
● July 1-16 – Completed the application workbook. Created inquiry forms, event
information, prepared for on-site visit.
11. ‘On’-site visit
● July 17-20 – Four day working session with project manager and
implementation specialist off site.
● Benefits to meeting off-site
● Built the app together and tested with staff on campus.
● Completed recruitment and events

online application and
checklist were complete by
the first week of August
● Held end user training on
campus
● Live September 1!

How the rest went…
● Implemented as we went
● Application Review
● Decisions
● Axiom
● Fall 2019 – First cycle fully in
TargetX
14. The Outcome, what we wish we new then…
● Grand goals – some worked, some did not
● Communication with staff is key
● Shuffling responsibilities to allow for dedicated time
● Don’t be afraid to really utilize your project manager
● Have flexible deadlines
● Take the time ahead to look at your entire process and then move forward
with implementation
