Chimpanzees have long arms for swinging from tree to tree in their native habitats in Southeast Africa. They live in family groups and young chimps stay with their mothers for their first few years. Chimpanzees eat a mainly plant-based diet of nuts, seeds, and flowers, and live in trees or small caves for shelter. They are considered an endangered species.
