3. Emily Dickinson had a great imagination when she was
just a child. Her imagination started to grow each
day, when she was 40, she kept writing and writing. Emily
wrote all the imagination she had into her poems.
4. She always wrote in a rhythm or meter called iambic.
Her poems often have stanzas of four lines. It has
eight syllables in lines one and three, lines two and
four.
5. Since she lived in the times when they still used
ships to travel, it must have been in the 1800’s –
1900’s.
6. She got a rich imagination from walking her dog,
Carlo, to watch the sea, and to watch the spectacular
sunset.
7. Emily’s father was a treasurer of Amherst
College, and also a lawyer. Her mother was known
for being such a excellent and fine cook. Her brother
became a lawyer just like his father.
