1. Effective Management
 Managers delegate the routine work to the subordinates.
 This enables the managers to function more efficiently.
 As they get more time to concentrate on important matters.
 It also provides them with opportunities concentrate more on administrative work.
 Thus, management become more effective.
2. Employee Development
 Delegation exposes the subordinates to real world of problem.
 Also allows them to develop those skills which will enable them to perform complex tasks.
 It makes them better leaders and decision makers.
 Delegation also provides them the chance to use their skills, gain experience and develop
themselves for higher positions.
 Thus, delegation helps in preparing better future managers.

 Delegation helps in developing the talents of the employees.

 Thus, Delegation helps in the expansion and growth of an organisation.
5. Basis of Management Hierarchy
 Delegation of authority establishes superior-subordinate relationships.
 The degree and flow of authority determines who has to report to whom.
 Thus, delegation serves as the basis of hierarchy of management.
 The power that each job position enjoys in the organisation decided by the extent of delegated
authority.
