Employee collaboration in a digital universe: The rise of the Enterprise Soci...Ralph J. Davila, APR
The rise of Enterprise Social Networks (ESNs), such as Yammer, Jive, Tibbr and others, have become the hot trend in mid- to large-size organizations seeking better ways to connect employees in real-time, particularly via mobile devices.
A major factor in the need and growth of ESNs at organizations spawns from vast shifts in the way employees now work. With increases in the remote workforce population, from flexible working environments to geographically disparate teams, ESNs help bridge those communications gaps.
This deck is a compilation of a five-part blog series on how to successfully deploy an ESN at your organization.
Making the Case for Social Collaboration in the EnterpriseWebtrends
The document discusses making the case for social collaboration in enterprises. It argues that social collaboration should focus on building relationships rather than just implementing technologies. It outlines four parts of an effective social collaboration strategy - having clear objectives, putting the right metrics in place, investing in relationship management, and prioritizing technology with relationships in mind. Effective metrics measure how relationships fill information and decision-making gaps rather than just engagement. Relationship management requires budgeting, executive involvement, transparency, and incentives. Technology choice should consider the relationships sought rather than just features.
Benefits of Collaboration Software for BusinessesMikogo
The document discusses predictions from 15 thought leaders about the benefits that businesses will see from adopting collaboration software in 2015. Mobile access to collaboration tools will continue to grow in importance as the boundaries between work and home become blurred.

The document provides recommendations around ERP planning, availability checks, implementation approaches, and benefits of a successful first implementation.
Enterprise 2.0 - Efficient Collaboration and Knowledge ExchangeAcando Consulting
How to enable dispersed teams to coordinate their actions to achieve their goals and how to enable an organization to harness its collective intelligence - with the use of social software and principles of social media.
Social collaboration tools are becoming increasingly important for internal employee collaboration. While some managers are skeptical of social tools, they can improve knowledge sharing and boost team productivity by facilitating employee-built networks rather than restricting collaboration through organizational hierarchies. A holistic collaboration strategy pairs both traditional collaboration tools with newer social tools to maximize their combined benefits for enabling effective employee interactions.
The document outlines ten commandments for collaborative team work. The commandments are: 1) have trust and confidence in team members, 2) let go of ego, 3) do not compete with each other, 4) be committed to the common goal, 5) communicate openly and directly, 6) resolve conflicts mutually and openly, 7) empathize and understand to be understood, 8) support and respect individual differences or unity in diversity, 9) take up responsibility and accountability, 10) contact details are provided for training workshops on collaborative team work.
This document outlines techniques for effective collaboration, including brainstorming and consensus building. It discusses the importance of collaboration for benefits like team building, communication, and gaining different perspectives. Effective brainstorming requires preparing the right people, having rules like deferring judgment and building on others' ideas, using tools like sticky notes, and appointing a facilitator. SASUG April - Building Social Networks and the Social JourneyDavid Broussard
A review of what an Enterprise Social Network is, why we needs them, and how to embark on a Social Journey that will actually get you to your desired destination.
The document discusses how collaboration can help businesses succeed by fostering innovation, connecting employees and external partners, and harnessing collective knowledge. It notes that most CEOs cite collaboration as important to innovation efforts and that true innovation is difficult without collaboration. It also outlines how new collaboration tools can help share information more widely and cost-effectively within companies to solve problems and meet needs.
Collaboration is key for professional services firms to drive growth and succeed in today's competitive landscape. Modern collaboration tools and integrated ERP systems can raise efficiencies within a firm by 20-25% by reducing search time and enhancing knowledge sharing. These technologies also allow firms to deliver full-service offerings by enabling partnerships and joint ventures. To take advantage of new opportunities and market conditions, firms need real-time data access across locations to make informed decisions and quickly adapt. As firms expand globally, collaboration becomes even more important to secure value in new markets and ensure everyone has access to the same accurate information.

How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

Bram Verhoef, Head of Machine Learning at Axelera AI, presents the “How Axelera AI Uses Digital Compute-in-memory to Deliver Fast and Energy-efficient Computer Vision” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
As artificial intelligence inference transitions from cloud environments to edge locations, computer vision applications achieve heightened responsiveness, reliability and privacy. This migration, however, introduces the challenge of operating within the stringent confines of resource constraints typical at the edge, including small form factors, low energy budgets and diminished memory and computational capacities. Axelera AI addresses these challenges through an innovative approach of performing digital computations within memory itself. This technique facilitates the realization of high-performance, energy-efficient and cost-effective computer vision capabilities at the thin and thick edge, extending the frontier of what is achievable with current technologies.
In this presentation, Verhoef unveils his company’s pioneering chip technology and demonstrates its capacity to deliver exceptional frames-per-second performance across a range of standard computer vision networks typical of applications in security, surveillance and the industrial sector. This shows that advanced computer vision can be accessible and efficient, even at the very edge of our technological ecosystem.
In the realm of cybersecurity, offensive security practices act as a critical shield. By simulating real-world attacks in a controlled environment, these techniques expose vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. This proactive approach allows manufacturers to identify and fix weaknesses, significantly enhancing system security.
