Crafting a Cloud Native API Platform to Accelerate Your Platform Maturity - B...Nordic APIs
A presentation given by Budhaditya Bhattacharya, Developer Advocate at Tyk, at our 2024 Austin API Summit, March 12-13.
Session Description: APIs and microservices are powering domain-driven design architectures and have become the fabric of modern cloud-native applications. However, focusing on technology isn't enough - there is a need for a synergy between people, processes, and tools.
Based on the CNCF platform maturity model, we will look to bridge the gap between an org's current and desired platform maturity level when creating cloud-native API platforms. We'll discuss:
1. The platform team model - team topologies and key roles for developing internal API platforms
2. Processes like platform discovery, jobs-to-be-done analysis, and continuous feedback loops to understand and meet developer needs
3. Applying a "platform as a product" mindset to measure and communicate platform success
4. Architecting for discoverability, security, observability and integration capabilities 5. The role of technologies like service meshes, API gateway, identity management, internal developer portals and OpenAPI specifications
A quick presentation that talks about the business and organisation decisions, and questions a beginner organisation should ask themselves prior to their public API journey

Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

7. 5 Things to Remember
When Managing Platforms & APIs
8. What are we going to cover?
1.Introduction to Technical Product Management
2.What to keep in mind when building Platforms & APIs
3.Recipe for success
9. Who is a Technical Product Manager?
“A technical product manager often describes a business role
that is mainly focused on technology as opposed to a technology
role that has no responsibility for a product’s market success.”
Specifically, it describes a Product Manager who has a technical
background and/or works on a technology product. It does not
describe a Product Manager who needs to actually perform
technical tasks, such as software architecting and coding.
10. What is a Platform?
“A platform is more like an electrical outlet with the potential to
easily plug in as many tools as you need.”
Products require integrations, sometimes custom and complex
ones, to connect different tools, but platforms are designed from
the start to help different tools work together and share
information more easily.
11. What are APIs?
API stands for Application Programming Interface.
An API is a software intermediary that allows two applications to
talk to each other. In other words, an API is the messenger that
delivers your request to the provider that you’re requesting it from
and then delivers the response back to you.
