Through creating a magazine, the student learned to use Adobe Photoshop to edit photos by adding filters and editing backgrounds. They created a Google blogger account to upload drafts and pages of the magazine. Various programs like Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Prezzi, and QuarkXPress were used to design the magazine pages and answer questions, with QuarkXPress allowing layout and size customization. Overall, the student gained experience and confidence using programs like Photoshop, blogger, and QuarkXPress that were new to them through this project.

Of Constructing This Product?
With the use of the schools apple MAC’S, I created all three of
front cover, double page spread, and lastly the content page.

2. I used the LUMIX camera DMC-FX78/77 to take pictures for
my front cover and content page. However for the double page I
used a different camera, which was the CANON EOS400D.
Through the use of MACS I learnt how to use the “Adobe
Photoshop CS3”. I used the Photoshop program to edit all my
pictures, by adding filters, editing the background and so on. I
also used the effects from Photoshop for my subheadings/titles
such as “drop shadow” and so on.

3. I created an account with Google, in order to create a blogger. I
uploaded my drafts, questionnaires, and lastly all three front
covers, double page spread, and lastly the content page.
I used Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft word and lastly Prezzi
to answer a few of the questions asked out of the 7 questions.

4. I used the programme “QuarkXPress” to create all three of my
magazine pages. With the use of quark, I was able to choose the
size/layout of the magazine. I also used the colors/measurements
tool to change colors and fonts.
I used a zoom hand held recorder to record my voice when
answering question 7 of the evaluation.

Throughout the process of creating my magazine, I hadn’t used
a few of the programs such as Google blogger, Photoshop,
quark. However I am now able to use these programs
confidently as I am now aware of how to use them.
